  1. Sunset shimmer hasn't interacted with the group nearly enough, and Starlight... I guess she's doing her own thing? It looks a lot less like ponies will be joining the mane 6 and more like they'll be forming their own group. Trixie, Starlight, Sunset. Maud, maybe? These ponies all clearly have a lot of growing to do. This is probably beyond the scope of the show, but it seems like a group of ponies like these would make a good heir to the elements of harmony.
  2. How long has it been since someone's checked the number of posts? 416251
  3. This was posted on Saturday but I'm gonna reply anyway. If you feel this way, you are probably better at (and more inclined to) solve your friends' problems because the answers come easier to you, but your personal problems will always be difficult, otherwise they wouldn't be problems. Finding and following through with solutions to your problems will always come easier to other people who have different skills, which I suppose is the benefit of friends. Having someone who is good at the things you can't do, as support when you're lost. Definitely over analyzed that meme, but that was my idea. As for my own answer, I enjoy work. More specifically, I enjoy getting things done. Accomplishing small goals. But I don't usually have the drive to get certain important things done. Some work seems pointless, and I think that's the kind that's hardest to do.
  4. Honestly, if it was gonna end, it would've ended by now. But hey, maybe someone will write an episode where Spike has to accept that it won't happen, and learns how to move on. Equally likely, some writer will make Sparity almost become a reality for one episode, and then everything will go forward as if it never happened. We've sure seen both of those before.
  5. Mrs. Cake's full name is Cup Cake, Chiffon Swirl was her birth given name. MLP canonized legal name changes, which explains a lot of Equestria's weirdest names. But on to the episode, it was personally my favorite in the entire series. So little margin for error, and they nailed it perfectly. Basically confirming their deaths without treading into risky territory at all. Loads of questions answered, beautiful music as always, a great ending. The episode managed to create such an amazing feeling of connection to the characters. They pulled the whole show closer together. The writing isn't better than most mlp episodes, it's better than most episodes of all my favorite shows. The name-changing was a nice development I think. DJ-Pon3's name makes more sense now. More importantly, I think this episode has shown more of a commitment to consistent and quality backstory. Hopefully they keep this trend of consistency going, it'll definitely do wonders for the fan-fiction and headcanons which are such a huge part of the fandom.
  6. Well it seems like one of the main themes of the show has become unrealized potential. It's all been about ponies who had amazing potential but didn't wield it properly. Because they didn't know how, or didn't want to, etc. So I feel like redemptions are a natural consequence of this ideal. It's the philosophy of the show, Fighting gets us nowhere, but if we choose to work together, we'll both be more powerful than ever before. That kind of reasoning.
  7. Them being at the movies isn't the reason for my, or any sensible person's problem. It's unruly children who are annoying. Discipline of a disobedient kid is a given part of good parenting and it doesn't matter whether they're at a movie theater or not. Both positive and negative reinforcement are required. So yes, if your kid spends two hours screaming at a movie screen, then they ought to be punished (Though, you definitely shouldn't hit them...) On a similar note, I personally understood when I made this post that it could be very selfish of me if I went to far to try and solve the problem. It is perfectly fine, however, to do what I want as long as I don't hinder anyone else's experience, and that is exactly what I planned to do.
  8. I've always kinda wished there was some kind of Zapp Apple food that Hasbro sold, would probably make a killing.
  9. Felt like doing some 3D stuff, ended up with this. I used my more realistic style and also modified the pattern a bit, something that was absolutely not done out of necessity/laziness.
  10. This episode takes a really interesting angle, I think. It's actually just the lesson of how you shouldn't care about what other people think, but from the point of view of the judge. Instead of the designers learning that their opinion of their own work is what matters most, we have Applejack learning that her opinion isn't really what matters. The designers do care about her opinion, but in the long run, its the designers' art, not hers. Along those lines it's also about damn time they got around to the Honesty problem. They managed to go 6 seasons without bringing up the fact that being to honest can be a problem, but they did it, and explained/resolved it wonderfully. It's actually really cool because it also parallels Twilight's story arc. Twilight was a student, but became a teacher to Starlight and, even now, still learns new lessons. And here we have Rarity. Remember when she was the one competing in the fashion shows? Back when Photo Finish and Hoity Toity were first introduced. Well now shes putting on the shows herself. I think that is a wonderful reminder of how the show really is evolving over time, and at a steady pace. It's one of the reasons I personally love mlp over any other random little girls' shows. Plus, it's always good to know that mane 6 characters still have lessons to learn, so we don't just have to have CMC and Starlight the entire season.
  11. For me, it's true that my enjoyment was despite some of the characterization, but I really also didn't notice that much, I guess? I was pretty annoyed by Pinkie but I don't really recall her every not being that spazzy. She's been pretty consistent. And ponies just accept it as a quirk of her personality that, while bad on the surface, is great in its own way. I didn't like Fluttershy Leans in as much as Rock Solid Friendship, but it wasn't because of Fluttershy. It just seemed like there really wasn't any learning or actual conflict? At every point along the way, all the protagonist characters, especially Fluttershy, knew exactly what they had to do and did it. I'm pretty sure the writers made the whole episode just so that people couldn't say that Fluttershy hasn't developed anymore. I mean, the opening is of her letting Angel do something she never would've let him do years ago, out of her confidence in him. However, despite the lack of real story, it was still pretty fun to watch Fluttershy boss people around and get something really great done.
  12. I know that, this idea reduces that down to a more feasible way. You can go door-to-door for just a few hundred people in a few dozen different places and get a really accurate number. Sure the people are coming and going but it's safe to assume the number of bronies in various places and their average age stays just about the same. At least over the time period it would take to do the survey. I know it's difficult but it is the most practical and accurate method I could come up with or find. You know? I'm not under the impression that its gotten smaller.
  13. Okay, so for a while I've pondered how you'd go about this. Counting the number of bronies in the world is really hard. With people who don't open up about it or don't use the internet (and won't see the polls) Accounting for varying densities of bronies in various places, it's all very complicated. But I've got a practical way to do it. First, and this is the easy part, you need an online poll that asks bronies where they live with decent accuracy. We can account for other variables such as internet usage and population and establish the number of bronies in each country in relation to each other. For instance, we could say Country A has half as many bronies as Country B, and B has three times as many as Country C. Now, the second part. We do a real-life poll in one of these places (or more, which will be required in practice) And can use that information to find the amounts of bronies everywhere else. So we can poll Country A and learn it has 150, and therefore B has 300 and C has 100. And then just add them up for a total. I really have no reference point for how new, effective, or useful this is. When I came up with it I was pretty surprised at myself. So comments would be helpful, thanks!
