Damn, been a while since I last I visited here. Gone from from being in the midst of a global pandemic to the brink of WW3 lmao. Just thought I'd drop by to say hope you all are well. and still wishing you all the very best!
-
Woah, this place has definitely changed since I was last here! Damn, time really flies. So... yeah, just thought I'd stop by for a bit, however I really don't see myself coming back in the future (you may have noticed already ). But yeah, haven't even really thought about the show much since late 2019, yet I heard through the grapevine that there's supposedly now a whole new gen? Sorry, been out of the loop for ages.
Got a bit of a confession to make, read it only if you like, it's something that's long overdue to be explained.
SpoilerTo tell you the truth, the time when I was most active here (mostly aged 17 -18) was a very unstable part of my life, whenever I wasn't working or studying I was out partying and developed a pretty bad drink and drug habit that screwed things up pretty bad. I found refuge here, a place where nobody knew who I was and I was able to partake in a community that I had long been fascinated by, where we all shared a common interest. But, all things must come to an end. I progressively took steps in improving myself, and fighting these demons. Nowadays, I rarely drink, haven't touched any illegal substances in 2 years, and I am much more career-focused than ever before. This place, to me, serves as a relic that reminds me of the stupid kid I was years ago and the mistakes I made. It is for these reasons that I'm putting everything behind me, moving onwards and keeping on the straight and narrow. I have in the past alluded to my issues with Class A drugs with very few forum members over Discord... you probably know who you are lol, and I'm totally embarrassed over the whole affair to this day.
Yeah, just wanted to get that off my chest so I didn't mysteriously vanish without an explanation again. God knows I've done plenty of that. Besides, I kinda owe you guys an explanation. Wishing you all the best in the near future, sayonara lads.
-
Good luck out there @Prometheus! If ever you do feel you want to make a return you know that this community will always be here, in the meantime I hope your career dreams come true and you keep improving your life
-
Hey dudes, long time no see!
Thought I'd just swing by to wish you guys Happy Holidays, and I hope that 2021 will be a better year than the complete shitshow we've had this year for all of you guys. Due to my frequent inactivity, I honestly have no idea if this forum is even populated anymore, but in any case, for those of you who are sticking around I wish you all the best in the new year!
-
@Tacodidra Thanks a lot man! Glad to see you're still here, hope you're doing well!
-
Big day coming up for you Americans out there. I just want to say that whichever way your election goes, I wish you guys all the best over there, and that the important thing is that you stood up for your beliefs.
Godspeed Yanks!

I disliked what @Kyoshi said about usa, but is your opinion,
But I will say I've considered burning the occupation flag for my country too
-
Well I'll be damned, was not expecting to come back to 3k brohoofs (brohooves?), thanks guys!
-
@Tacodidra Thanks dude! Noticed you went back and reacted to some of my older posts too... You're pretty good.

4:30 AM and can't get to sleep, might as well check in on how things are going over here.
Been having some second thoughts recently about my career, I'm torn on whether or not I should pursue something I actually enjoy or just stick to my current career path in STEM. Tuition fees are dirt cheap in my country, so financing shouldn't be a problem. I know they always say that there's worldwide demand for STEM graduates (especially since I really want to emigrate to North America), but the thought of doing it my entire life just sounds nightmarish and monotonous. If anyone has some advice on this I'd be really grateful.
Ok, now that's out of the way, how are things going for you guys?
-
Do you what you love. Don't do something just because it seems like the easier route, and if it's already sounding nightmarish to you now, then chances are your probably not going to like your STEM career once you actually get one. Don't waste your time or money doing something that doesn't interest you, you'll end up regretting it in the long run
-
@King of Canterlot Thanks man. Yeah, you've got a point there, it does seem like doing something I'd enjoy would be the better option in the long run. I'm just worried about the future is all, but I guess I'm just overthinking it, eh? Still, much appreciated dude!

There are rumours that we might be getting PC ports of Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2.
Mfw:If we do get them then holy shit, I will be so happy. And who knows, maybe one day we'll get a working port of MGS4.
Also, sorry I haven't been as active as I said I would, work's been keeping me busy recently. Hope all is well with you guys.

@Megas Yeah man, too true. Let's hope we do get them some day.
@Deae Rising Shine~ You're lucky, I had the HD collection on PS3, but my PS3 died on me about a year ago.

Wow, by complete coincidence, I somehow stumbled on the very video that introduced me to FIM when I was 10/11 years old, before I had any idea what the show even was.
Not gonna lie, I thought Rainbow Dash was a dude back then, not even joking. Was a huge fan of Elder Scrolls at the time and was excited as hell for Skyrim coming out, and I remember finding this video of clips from the show synced to the audio from the Skyrim teaser trailer, thought it was the coolest shit ever... only to find out that it was My Little Pony of all things.
Spooky how it re-emerged out of nowhere.
EDIT: Must be a problem with embedding YouTube videos here, sorry about that.

You know what? Imma try to come back here more often. Over the past year or so I've barely been visiting, only really showing up roughly once a month and not much else. But this place is still going strong, still some good folk sticking around, so I might as well keep at it.
How's it going for you guys anyway? Hope you're all still keeping safe out there. 👍
-
Hey, MLP Forums... ya doin' alright?
-
Wow, thanks for all the birthday messages you guys! Sorry I'm so late responding to them haha.
-
Happy 4th July to you yanks when it comes!
I know you guys have like 6 different time zones over there, so I'm just trying to accommodate for you all. Hope the weather's good for all the barbeques and beer you'll be having.
-
Bruh, these out-of-context Bronycon pics you find are unintentionally some of the funniest stuff online.
Just look at the skeleton dude in the background looking up in sheer horror at that thing.
Anyway, yeah, guess it's been a while since I last visited, huh? With things around the world slowly starting to ease, I hope you're all still surviving, literally. I'll check back in whenever I can, and hopefully engage with you guys some more. 👌
-
Congrats NASA & SpaceX! You guys pulled it off! Godspeed to those guys. Godspeed.
Anyway, hope you all are doing alright. Don't know about you, but just today I got really bad sunburn, seriously, I'm red all over.
Pro-tip: Wear sunblock. You'll be thankful for it.
How's this hot, hot day been treating you all?
-
Aw man, I think ya boi's got food poisoning. It's 2AM, can't sleep, and feeling very sick: The Holy Trinity of having a rough night.
Hope you're all having a better time out there. I knew I should have cooked that chicken for longer.

I've decided to take a year break from uni.
Back in November I was given the opportunity to take up an internship at one of the biggest technology firms in Europe, internship was to start in June and last over the summer. Then, the lockdown happened, and the internship was subsequently cancelled. Plus, the way my uni has handled this has been laughable, they don't have a clue what they're doing lmao.
So next year, I'm aiming to get into a much better and well-respected uni, and if all goes to plan, it should be smooth sailing from then on.
Other than that, life's been pretty boring.
Hope you're all having a good one bois. 👌

Just realised it's been like 8 or so months since I quit smoking, with everything going on at the moment it just completely slipped my mind lmao. Stopped at the beginning of September last year and now we're at May. Christ... time really flies, huh?
-
Happy birthday dude, stay safe over there.
-
Congratulations Hafþór Björnsson on breaking the world deadlift record at 501 KG! That's just an absolutely insane deadlift for someone to pull off! So glad he managed to beat Eddie Hall, that guy's been long overdue for a lesson in humility.
-
Happy birthday, dude! Hope it's a good one.
-
Quick question for fellow folks in lockdown, how are you spending your days? What are you doing to keep yourselves occupied?
Genuinely curious, 'cause I've spent the majority of lockdown re-decorating, doing general DIY and just fixing things the whole time. But eventually, you just run out of stuff to fix, y'know?
Been considering getting back into drawing, haven't done it god-knows how long, should really finish up on the design for my next tattoo as well.
But yeah, hope you're all having a good one lads.

@King of Canterlot Holy shit, haven't seen you in a while, how are things?
-
@Prometheus I've been doing good. I came back to the forums here a couple of weeks ago after being gone for like a year and half. I promise an extended absence won't happen again
-
Hello there, just dropping by for my monthly visit.
Hope you're all keeping well, weather's really picking up here, about time if you ask me. How's things with you guys?

@Prometheus yeah, the lockdown is a pain in the arse, isnt it?
-
Y'know, it's times like these where you learn to appreciate what you have in life. You can so easily forget how lucky you are compared to others, it's when times are tough that everything is really put into perspective and you feel grateful for what you have and what you have accomplished in life.
Stay safe out there, lads.
-
Just stopping by to remind you all to stay safe in these tough times.

So my university has shut down because of a confirmed coronavirus case. Happy days...
