  1. Is a deflationary depression truly easier to get out of than an inflationary depression? that would depend on many factor and it's not always true is inflation a bad thing? not always unless it's hyperinflation Hitler fixed hyperinflation and created 97% employment but why couldn't american government fix unemployment and dropping living standards? it has to do more with lobbyist and corruption along with the lying media then manipulation of statistics to show lower unemployment rate The lobbyist will suck you dry no matter what monetary system you use and it was the main reason that the banking regulations were removed which enabled the bankers to cause economic meltdown. The corruption(lobbying) causes unemployment which contributes to reduced production of goods&services and thus making the fiat money less valuable. There could be reforms to minimize lobbying power but it will be impossible to get rid.
  2. Gold standard or even mixed with silver isn't a completely bad idea but they're not immune to manipulation and the invisible hand does not solve everything as there are too many variables.
  3. here's a simple example: Some rich bankers bought out all the goods in an area under a gold currency system and they hoard items for the sole purpose of giving the perception that there has been a massive increase in gold supply, they have the media bought out to report the news the way they want em to. There would be panic and people will hoard goods then they will want a lot more gold for their goods I could write a more detailed example of how prices could be manipulated under a gold backed or gold currency system by people with bigger capital and control of the media Think it won't happen? it already did in the past
  4. They will always be useful for personal investment but as an monentary system imposed by government, it doesn't really matter because that's not what drives an economy. That's why the idea behind classical mercentalism was abandoned in favor of free markets. I'm still alive today because I had gold bars during the hyperinflation
  5. The thing is, you have no idea how much the gold/silver supply is and people would raise/lower prices based on tv 'news' and whoever controls the media and banks could manipulate public perception on the supply. Do you think that it's a coincidence for the prices of gold to skyrocket? People put up bogus estimates of gold/silder and oil reserves all the time to manipulate prices and all that really determine their prices is public perception which are easily manipulated. I've actually lived through a hyperinflation period tho the people here didn't have guns when it happened.
  6. They are precious because people think they are, gold and silver aren't really that useful and humans just like shiny things. If the economy and government collapse, I think that weapons and ammunition will be worth lot more than gold&silver and ammunition could even become the mainstream currency.Criminals want them to rob stuff and good guys want to use em for self defense. If guns weren't an option then I rather have a mixed bag of currencies and some self sufficiency equipment as well food supplies that could last a decade or so without decomposing or harming people who eat them.
  7. Check out how Hitler restabilized the mark within few short years when the money was worse than zimbabwe at the time and people were using them as woodfire and toilet paper. Gold and silver are just as useless and there had been times in history when stones, sticks , rocks , shellfish or even bronze being used as currency.Having a gold standard doesn't actually mean anything despite what some austrian economists like ron paul claims. The problem with paper money is the temptation for governments to manipulate the volume for unethical purposes and lack of regulation for banks, even nationalizing all banks might not be such a bad idea.
  8. Iceland was the only country to ever make banking reform to what you described then they proceed to jail the bankers and nationalize the banks. Money doesn't necessarily need to be backed by anything other than labor, goods and resources but it's only fair for everyone if there is a sound monetary policy and baking system. Even sharia banking is a lot more sound than the mainstream banking which IMF is pushing.
  9. Brony is a gender neutral term and 'Bros' have been used to refer to both genders since the late 90s on the internets, especially in video gaming community.
  10. @@Circadian, When you've seen as much brutality, violence, genocide and mass murder as me, you'll probably never be happy ever again either.I guess I'm like any war veteran with post traumatic stress disorder and worse stuff coz of a war and violent environment.
  11. You've got some mad skills making that kind of quality art with an outdated artrage and a mouse, maybe a youtube speedpaint sometime?
  12. Justin beiber is a brony! now all the teenage girls in real life shall convert into bronydom and their erotic fanfics of Justin Bighooves shall block out the internets!
  13. There's always lots of other opportunities, sticking with a job you hate don't seem worth it.
  14. @@Feather Spiral, I didn't say anything about harming the employees, you probably confused me with members of 4 chan or something. How do you know it's not the Hasbro CEO and shareholders who are responsible? There are lots of LEGAL way we can hurt their pockets and make sure they end up homeless.
  15. They can't win because the law isn't on their side but they could just upload it on foreign soil to foriegn servers so Hasbro can't do anything about it. That makes me think of another way we could pressure them into bending over - 1.starting to use their IP and unauthorized mass production of merchandise in countries where they have no control then making sure those items lands in America and compete with their products 2.90 minute long adult oriented pony movie with clop scenes posted on streaming servers based on countries they can't do DMCA takedowns on.This will severely damage their reputation as being a corporation catering to little girls and he MLP brand so they will want to negotiate. Those two are less radical methods that will require no lobbying.
  16. SO...anyone agree that we should lobby governments to financially destroy the CEO and shareholders of Hasbro? We could even take it up a notch and lobby all governments outside US/EU to declare them as international terrorists and lobby to have them extradited to countries where they can face a decade or two in prison. am i kidding? No
  17. @@Fubz, If you upload it on download sites based on certain countries, hasbro can't take them down either so they're basically powerless.
  18. Well just pass it to me online and I'll upload it here, Hasbro can't sue me coz US copyright laws don't apply down here and maybe I'll get to write a funny sarcastic letter to their legal team.
  19. So I'm just wondering what yall bronies living in US/CAN usually do for fun during Q2, is that the time where all the brony related events take place? what other non brony events do you attend?
  20. Lobbying ain't illegal and any democratic country runs on legal bribery aka lobbying.Sometimes people just gotta be rehabilitated(prison) and they won't see the error of their ways till they do, it will send a strong message to the corporations that we could play the game the exact same way they're playing it and they'd better know whose in charge and start bending over. Everything I have suggested is perfectly legal .
  21. No, I'm suggesting we go after the boss and shareholders too.We can find out where their investments are and use both laws and markets to completely destroy them financially or we could get them charged with human rights abuse and 20 years prison when they're in third world countries for vacation. I'm sure that the VA , writers and toilet scrubbers will find a new job.
  22. @@Shoboni, Why so pacifist? wouldn't it be entertaining to ensure that the CEO and every single shareholder becomes some homeless? Besides, petitions and protests will never work and they'll keep doing this to quality fan content. "evil prevails when good men do nothing"
  23. Negative publicity alone and paying politicians to appear on tv to demonize Hasbro and make bogus documentaries about how MLP negatively affects the growth of little girls and cause adult viewers to commit mass shootings would probably work and America's #1 'news' network seems to be doing just that.If it could cause an outcry at violent video games then I'm sure that the brainwashed masses will buy the story. Finding out where the CEO and major shareholders invest their $ then making laws to make sure they make a huge monetary loss will be a great message too.
  24. I don't think you understand how lobbying works, every single non dictator politician can be bought and if there are enough broneis with cash then a complete ban worldwide could even happen. We could start placing economic sanctions on them by lobbying countries outside North America to completely ban MLP related products/content until they meet our demands, if they do not comply then we work double time to go lobby against various shareholder and the CEO. But of course I highly doubt that anyone would agree with me.
  25. I think it would be better to lobby south american governments, Israel , etc and get prominent politicians to threaten hasbro of banning their show and products on those region as well as internet blockade. When was the last time a corporation respond to petitions and peaceful protest? tho the mane 6 dev should've just passed the codes to people in countries not affected by US copyright laws and get em to finish it.
