  1. I've never all-out cried in an episode, but I did start feeling tears when Spike and Rarity were falling towards their death in "Secret of My Excess" when Spike was trying to confess his crush to her. I'm not a Spike/Rarity shipper, but I thought that moment was very cute, and Rarity is just a doll. :3
  2. I liked Hearth's Warming Eve. That episode's more in the middle for me, though.
  3. I voted for Amy Keating Rogers, but Meghan McCarthy and M.A. Larson are also fantastic. I was tempted to vote for Cindy Morrow for worst writer (mostly for the Show Stoppers...), but the truth is that she's written some really good episodes too (ie Griffon the Brush-Off, Winter Wrap-Up, Sisterhooves Social, Read it and Weep). I voted for Merriwether Williams because while I didn't dislike Mysterious Mare Do Well nearly as much as many others, it's still towards the bottom of my list, and Hearth's Warming Eve isn't THAT much better of an episode. I'll still give her a chance for future episodes, but for now... sorry lady. I had to vote for someone...
  4. Apple Bloom is proud of her family, so having an apple-related cutie mark would still make sense. I'm not convinced that she's meant to be different from them. But her cutie mark may be "outside the box" for the Apple Family. Perhaps her cutie mark will mesh her two worlds together - a world with her family, and the world where she can design/construct things. I'm not sure what that will look like, although I do imagine an episode where Apple Bloom has a great construction-like idea and she gets ignored until people are convinced that Apple Bloom needs to shine and not just be treated like a little kid. Sadface, only 1 person likes my Sweetie Belle theory...
  5. I noticed the eyelashes too. And yes, they do have different lashes. Their eye shapes in general are different as well.
  6. Cutie Marks don't always have to do directly with their names. Perhaps indirectly, if you can make a claim for Pinkie Pie and Rarity, but... how does Derpy Hooves relate to bubbles? Cutie Marks are not always obvious, either... for example, while Rarity is obviously good at sewing, her realization that she could design clothes was not what made her receive her cutie mark. How she got her cutie mark was knowing how to make her designs most fabulous, and that was through discovering all those gems. Seeing that Sweetie Belle and Rarity are sisters, I imagine that how they got their cutie marks would be similar. Sweetie Belle already knows that she can sing. But she will discover something that will make her singing the best it can be. And that thing will be her cutie mark. That's my theory, anyways.
  7. If they were sisters, don't you think that Pinkie Pie would've directly said hi to Octavia during the Gala? You know that Pinkie doesn't hesitate to say hi to her friends at any possible moment.
  8. Cows don't have cutie marks, either. And what about the buffalo from Over A Barrel? I don't think they had cutie marks either.
  9. PONIES - The Anthology is my favorite thing ever.
  10. In that case, now I'm horribly curious about what your bio used to say... lol Also, as a rule of thumb, everyone starts out as a newb. It's hard for Internet veterans to remember that they used to be newbs too, so it's easy for veterans to make fun of newbs or criticize them rather harshly. But remember, they were newbs too, even if they don't remember. And if you stay on the Internet long enough and you're not stupid, you'll become a veteran soon enough.
  11. No matter where I go, I'm a little slow at getting the hang of things. I don't earn instant popularity. But I know where it's worth putting my effort. So I keep at it, at my normal pace, until I feel comfortable with my surroundings and I become a memorable forum member. I'm in no rush to make my mark. And it's OK if I never do. But when I do, I know in the end that it was worth the wait and the effort. Your backstory is a sob story? Well, if you say that, then perhaps I would've been judgmental of it, too. I kinda roll my eyes at people who share their elaborate "tragic" pasts for a couple reasons. The number 1 reason is that everyone suffers, and everyone has sore spots in life. Some stories are worse than others, but regardless, we all have them, therefore having a sad backstory doesn't make you a special snowflake, and I feel like when people share them off the bat to a bunch of Internet strangers that they're trying to get attention and have people feel sorry for them. If that's not the case, then the number 2 reason for me rolling my eyes is because people share about their personal lives far too quickly to others. I'd rather get acquainted with somepony before I hear about the stuff that's happened in their lives. I'd like to get to know them on a basic level - what's your personality, what are your likes/dislikes, what do you believe in, etc. If the first thing I learn about a person is a sad story that they themselves are mentioning, it makes me think, "Woah, easy buddy, I don't even know you and here you are sharing these very personal things to me." It makes me uncomfortable. Or it makes me think that you're an attention whore. Either way, it's not good. It's good to be honest. But I prefer to be more familiar with a person before I know about their deepest emotions and most life-changing moments. As for RPing... I don't do it. I've tried it before and I wasn't bad at it or anything, but it just doesn't interest me. *shrug*
  12. All I know is that syndicated TV shows can be rerun after the series cancellation. If the show is canceled before 65 episodes have been released, it doesn't get reruns.
  13. Yeah I don't think that they'll cut off at 65 episodes. That would be a stupid decision, honestly.
  14. 26 + 26 = 52, + 13 = 65, the bare minimum for syndication. People want to know if the studio will bother to produce more episodes than the bare minimum required for syndication. I personally think that with the way the show is being released, it would end far too quickly if they only made 65 episodes. They can afford to go on a little longer. I think the fans would appreciate that.
  15. They would sing together. F is for friends who do stuff together U is for you and me N is for anywhere at anytime at all DOWN HERE IN THE DEEP BLUE SEA
  16. lol horsey convention I've been an anime/manga fan ever since I was a kid, and I've been watching cartoons all my life. I'm a grown-up now so I don't have to "fess up" to my parents about me liking the show. My dad has seen my brushable pony collection on my window sill and probably thinks I'm crazy, but he doesn't share his opinions with me out of respect. This morning was the first time I ever had the chance to watch MLP on The Hub. My mom was in the other room making her grocery list and when I turned on the TV I told her, "Don't judge." She went, "OK, I'm not judging, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing." S'all good. Your family is extremely immature and I would take their words with a grain of salt. If they honestly believe that being a brony makes your argument invalid, then there's no point in dealing with them. I'm sorry your home life is shitty but you won't have to be in it forever.
  17. I don't like The Show Stoppers because Scootaloo sang for a good few minutes. Longest minutes of my life. I'm a singer so having to sit through the whole damn thing, cringing because she can't hit any of the notes, is torture. Yes I know it was bad on purpose, but did it really have to last longer than 15 seconds? And it wasn't even funny. I couldn't give that an award for comedy even if you forced me. The rest of the episode wasn't all that bad, but it didn't make up for the ending. Not a big fan of the Cutie Pox either. I like Apple Bloom but I just think the episode dragged. I like the fact that the later CMC episodes don't have much to do with them getting their cutie marks. That was getting old, fast. I'm glad that the writers have decided that other aspects of their personalities are worth showing to us. I loved Hearts and Hooves Day partly for this reason.
  18. But that was her in front of creatures who aren't ponies. She's much better at relating to animals than she is to other ponies. And while it's hilarious to think of Fluttershy as having trolled Discord, I actually doubt that it was intentional, especially since Discord took on the form of butterflies, so that may have made her more comfortable with speaking her mind. I think the episode will be about her learning to be more assertive to other ponies.
  19. I didn't say arachnophobia, lol. Being afraid of spiders isn't the same thing as arachnophobia. Arachnophobia is an extreme and irrational fear of spiders.
  20. This will give me time to officially put the MLP episodes from my favorite to least favorite. This is going to be a tough project...
  21. Patrick would get jealous. Pinkie Pie would be Patrick's friend too. Squidward would make fun of all 3 of them. Pinkie Pie would go out of her way to make Squidward smile. Even if she doesn't succeed, she at least does a better job than Spongebob ever could. Twilight would regret giving Pinkie Pie a magic spell allowing her to breathe underwater.
  22. True, they're all character traits. But "magic" still doesn't fit in the same category as the others, so yes, it would be hard to write about.
  23. Well she screams whenever she thinks they've touched her... without actually checking to see if they're actually spiders before freaking out.
  24. This episode is awesome. I'm glad that I can love every single new episode that gets released. I want to ask, did anyone else notice Pinkie's spider freak-out, you know, the one that caused her to ruin Cranky's toupee? She had another spider freak-out in The Ticket Master when she ran into Twilight and the tickets fell on her face, only she figured out that the tickets weren't spiders before she could ruin them. Pinkie Pie is afraid of spiders. It's canon.
