    I find it kind of funny when people say that MLP can't have romance because it's a kids show regardless of the fact that we've had Hearts and Hooves Day, Rarity and Prince Blueblood, Twilight and Flash, and you know... Cadence and Shining Armour and the whole wedding thing. In fact, that whole story arc revolved around love. Also, previous generations of MLP and many other kid's cartoons involve love, crushes, and romance, so I really don't see what the problem is... Anyway, as for SoarinDash, it's possible I guess? I don't really see it happening though.

    He thinks rape is a terrible crime, but he doesn't think that it's necessarily the worst crime, he talks about it in this video if you're interested. When did he ever say that he supports a "matriarchy"? much true. very fact. wow.

    I agree with many of his views, whilst others not so much. But then why would anyone agree with another person 100% of the time? At least if you can think for yourself. When I agree with him, yay, when I don't, at least he challenges my perspective and makes me think. I think he's an incredibly intelligent guy either way, and very honest and open about his faults. He's also one of the few srs bsnss types that is willing to, and open about the fact that he can change his mind about things, and I think this is partly why some people see him as a hypocrite. He's actually the only vlogger I'm subscribed to on Youtube, and the only non-artist/friend/fandom related person I follow on Tumblr. As for the quote, it's kinda taken out of context, so I'm not sure what he's referring to or talking about, but he does have a point. rape "survivor" isn't (always) the correct term, and people use it when they shouldn't The majority of the critique I see on the internet about him is a little ridiculous, and at times completely made up. I kind of wonder if people who say some of the stuff they do about him have even watched his videos.

    Although it would be cool to see more of a balance between the two sex's, I don't really have that much of an issue for same reasons I don't really have much of an issue when a show has more guys than girls. However, I do have an issue with the argument "it's aimed for girls therefore it's okay". It's a silly argument and when it's used to justify why some shows have more males than females, it rightfully gets slated as a bad argument. So what if a show is aimed at a specific gender? That's hardly an argument, you're just telling one gender what they can and can't relate to and it's stupid. Just because I'm a guy, it doesn't mean I can't relate to or like female characters, and the same is true for female audiences and male characters.

    I thought the way the chose to shoot the film and tell the story was quite interesting, and they worked with and around their limitations very well. However, I actually found the story rather boring. The dialogue wasn't great either and too blunt imo. They also showed the same flashbacks twice... Saying that, I didn't really like the original story that much either. I though it was cliche' and poorly written. The one thing the original story did do though, was make me cry, which this did not. I also didn't like the score. A very good effort though. It was visually well produced all things considered.

    I never said it wasn't hard... Of course it's hard, animation in general is fricking hard, I should know. I was just saying that Flash is more basic/simple than some other pieces of software on a technical level, and therefor easier to learn. It also depends on what kind of animation you're trying to create and what you're creating it for.

    Contrary to popular belief, Flash is one of the simpler animation programs out there. It's very good for actual animation (as in making things move), and enables you to animate in several different ways, including traditional cell animation, symbol animation, and 2D rigged puppet animation. However, it's fairly limiting as far aesthetic appeal goes due to it's limited art tools, and you'll find that you'll need to use it alongside other programs if you want to create anything substantial. Saying that, it's good at what it does, fairly cheap compared to some other animation software, and much easier to get that hang of compared to more advanced software such as Toonboom. In answer to your question, another couple of good pieces of software you can try are TVPaint, which I believe is a French Bitmap animation program if you don't like vectors, and the aforementioned Toonboom, which is kind of like a more advanced version of Flash. It has a lot more options for visual design, post-production tools, and is used by a lot of big production companies including Disney.
