Which is why when I got that that point, I said that we we've already been through this, and left it at that. And it's not a "conspiracy", you mislabeled the thread, how can you not expect people to believe it's at least in some way about appreciation when the word "appreciation" is in the title. It's seems silly that you're trying to silence a discussion that's relevant to what most people are going to assume is part of the topic. Furthermore, it was a peaceful discussion between Moth and I for the most part until we were being bashed for it, so I really don't see what the issue is.

No. I'm sorry, but just no. I'm sick of this strawman response I get almost every time I or someone else brings up this point. Not being proud of my sexuality or being all over gay pride is not the same thing as homophobia, and neither is viewing sexuality as a non-issue. I don't think anyone has said that they were offended by this thread, or by LGBT. I sometimes wonder if people even read what I type, or if they just see "I'm not fond of the gay pride concept" and just assume that the rest of the post is me bashing queers. "Acceptance" is different to "appreciation". Just because I don't express my love for everything queer doesn't make me homophobic. I don't think about or treat people differently because of which gender they feel sexuality attracted to, and nothing about a person's sexuality, or this thread "offends" me (otherwise I'd probably be offended by myself). I don't "appreciate" my sexuality, and I'm not "proud" of it. Just like I'm not proud of being white, or having dark hair. I accept it, and I'm happy with it, just as I accept other people's sexuality, whatever it may be, and happy that there's some diversity. Furthermore, "support" is not the same thing as "appreciation", which is part of what we're discussing, and what this thread is called. But we've already been through this.

I accept LGBT people. Hell, I'm one myself. I just see sexuality and gender as a non-issue, and I think that the only way we can reach a stage where all people are treated fairly is if both sides stop making something as insignificant as who you find attractive into an issue. (whether it be positive or negative.)

I would argue that demonstrations have been helpful in the past, but it just seems unnecessary to have them in a country like mine (UK), where by law, LGBT people have equal rites. I get that we still have a shit ton of homophobia, but this has more to do with individuals as opposed to the country itself, and if anything, parading in the streets, making a mess, and probably causing a lot of issues for drivers probably fuels their hate even more. As I've already mentioned in this thread, I see sexuality/gender as a non-issue, and I don't really see why I should be proud of my sexuality. For me, pride is like a byproduct that comes from achievement, so I'm not really a fan of the "gay pride" concept either. As for your other point, I think our difference sis what makes the world interesting, and I think it's healthy acknowledge those difference. But different doesn't necessarily equate to "bad".

I bring up a similar point to this often, along with other arguments. It seems unnecessary, and at times even damaging, but a lot of people obviously don't really agree. On the other hand, I've also spoken to many queer folk who feel the same way.

I'm not a really a big fan of volcaloid. 5/10 D: I have a friend who loves it, and I keep trying to get into it... but it doesn't do much for me other then the odd exception.

Because I haven't listened to the Eurythmics in far too long.

Liked the music itself, but the vocals kinda ruined it for me. 6/10

I thought it was gonna be okay, but that bass line was kind of annoying. 4/10 So is Britney Spears, it doesn't mean I have to like her. But I do like that song, that's why I gave it a 7. And I'm pretty sure that New Age is a form of spirituality, not a music genre. Unless you mean New Wave, in which case, yes, I do like it.

Words cannot fathom how much I like Ashbury Heights.

I own three pairs of platform boots, a pair of normal boots, and a pair of canvas shoes. (I also own a pair of Crocks... don't judge me)

Heh, a classic. 7/10

It wasn't terrible, but Hip Hop is one of those genres I just can't seem to get into. 4/10

Hells yeah. 8.5/10 And now for what was clearly the greatest song of the 90's

*spots yet another music genre thread* *looks through another limiting and ambiguous poll* Right, I'm off to listen to some Post Metal, followed by Industrial and maybe some Dark Cabaret. I've been listening to nothing by Baroque as of late, and need to change things up a bit.

I really liked the vocals, but the song itself was a little dull to be honest. 5/10

Noob "animator" requesting help
Hansel replied to Super-TeddyGuy's topic in Stardom's Creative Resources
I would argue the opposite. I find Toonboom a lot less user-friendly then Flash. However, it has a hell of a lot more features, and it's arguably better for film-making. It's also better for making your animations nice and pretty, since Flash is quite limiting when it comes to cleaning up your work and making it presentable. The other good thing about Toonboom, is that you can do a lot of post-production work with it, whilst with Flash, you really need to use After Effects to do anything like that. I think Toonboom is generally used for a lot of animated television shows and films, whilst Flash is almost always used for phone apps, games, and interactive stuff. Saying that, Flash is getting used more and more for TV now as well thanks to it's symbols feature. I think at the end of the day, It just depends on what you're trying to achieve. Whilst Toomboom is arguably better for film-making, both programs have good points, as well as bad points. If you're just starting, I personally recommend Flash as it's more user-friendly and easier to get the hang of. (It's also cheaper, I think) -
4/10 Not really really a fan of this kind of Punk, sorry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49-2Fp2Du4s

Good Art Programs? What do you use? Recommendations?
Hansel replied to Talemage's topic in Photo Finish's Magics (Visual Art)
Don't get me wrong, After Affects is usable for almost any form of film-making, (I've used it for live-action myself) but it's primarily equipped and used for 2D animation in the industry. It's normally either used in post-production for editing, composting, and effects, or used on it's own for motion graphics or puppet animation. Doesn't mean you can't use it for 3D, but generally speaking, people use Nuke for that.- 56 replies
