What happens when you stay up for too long?

Normally one of two things happen when I don't sleep. Either I:

A: Get even quieter than usual, stare off into space a bunch, and lose my concentration even more than I normally do. One time in band I phased out for a solid five minutes around my friends, and I have no memory of what happened during that time. My friends said I wasn't asleep, so it was really strange.

or

B: I get really giddy and laugh at every little thing. When I look at whatever made me laugh the next time I'm rested, it doesn't make sense that it would be even remotely funny. I imagine that's what being drunk is probably like, but I'll probably never know.

I begin to hallucinate and lose all sense of my surroundings.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

After about 36 hours, I actually become manic for a few hours give or take. After that, lethargy. Longest I was ever up was a little more than three days and that came with visual hallucinations as my mind tried to enter a REM cycle while awake.

This is quite obvious but I'd feel a bit drowsy after 48 hours without sleep.

The main things that happen when I go without sleep are slurring my words, getting tongue-tied and stuttering, as well as getting very clumsy! I drop everything and trip over stuff a lot. It's ridiculous and I look like a cartoon character doing pratfalls.
