Hello!

Thought I'd start a thread where people could share their awesome finds on VSTs, SFZ, samples, and other cool stuff they use in their DAW with others.

I'd prefer this thread to be on free plugins, samples, and such, but if you highly recommend a paid item, then you can list it.

To get this thread rolling, I'll list a few:

SFZs:

Orchestral

SSO: http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net

NewGrounds: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1200140

Plugins(VST 1/2/3):

Instruments

SFZ player: http://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando/

Ample Sound Guitars: http://www.amplesound.net/en/download.asp

MinimogueVA: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=405

T-Force Alpha Plus: http://www.mastrcode-music-vst.com/main.php?cat=8

Effects

Ambiance: http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=568

Drums/Sound Samples/One-Shots/ETC:

Orchestral

Drums of War: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bxw5Dbk0jBbWdVRiUXNrakpyWjg/edit

Electronic-geared

Real Samples

So there's a list. I'll add more stuff to it over time, but in the meantime, if you know some great VST, SFZ, sample, etc., feel free to share it with everyone! If one of these links does not work, let me know, and I'll either remove it, or find a new one.

Well tbh i don't generally go free synths. When it comes to getting a freeware or a pirated payware i'd go for the latter.....

But here's a lsit full of some favorite recommended ones (many i've tried, some i haven't)

While many synths can really do the same things it often becomes just the differences in presets, nobs, and wheelz that make them each worth going after.

I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it..

Here's My YouTube..I have several albums on Bandcamp and Pony.FM.

Very true, there are several synths out there that do the exact thing in different ways. Although becoming a pirate is one of the common way for someone to get synths, I want to try to discourage that and show that some of those sample packs, synths, etc have potential (assuming you are never paying for it in the future).

A lot of the free vst plugins I have are still experimental (trying to see if I will ACTUALLY use them),

Not the MOST experienced musician, but I thought I might as well share one of the synthesizers I've found in the process of learning. :)

I'm glad your exploring the world of vsts. Have fun with making music :)

Thanks guy for adding on to this topic, if there's anything I can do to help you guys, musically or not, let me know!

A must have VST is Garritan ARIA Player, with this powerful tool, you can create all sorts of sounds, ranging from orchestrals, to horror and crazy sounds with it's built-in instruments and other sets you can buy.
