Basically some guys on a extremely popular messageboard started posting pony pictures as a joke.

Admin's, Mod's and Janitors bans the pony posters.

People see the show after hearing this.

People love the show

Early Bronys start websites.

"Hello!"

You can use the google search time limit thing or whatever it's called to gain insight on this.

There are mentions of it as early as November, 2010.

The answer is logical.

Somewhere you can probably find a vague documentary on how the fandom started.

Some hipsters started a revolution on 4chan. Although our brave anti-brony soldiers fought vehemently, the bronies eventually took DeviantART as well.

Sig made by Kyoshi.

Cool things people have said about me:

Never heard of him but I guess just you mentioning him is a good reason not to go anywhere near that name.

(In reference to an author I suggested.)

4Chan trolls hear about MLP, they do what trolls do and slam it. Some of those trolls to their surprise end up liking it while other dig in their heals which creates a butt load of flame wars leading to a total ban on pony related material on the site and a spinoff site called Ponychan. People get curious with all the pony avatars and references and some people end up liking it while others hate, the hate creates more attention which brings more curiosity and more people checking out the show and finding out that they like it.

One man, Starswirl the Hecatonchires, decided to watch an episode of My Little Pony.  He was the first mortal man to ever watch a show for little girls.  The Furies, three immortal sisters, beings of pure hatred, learned of this, and considered it to be a betrayal against the gods.  They captured Starswirl and tortured him until his only choice was to kill himself.  Death was his escape from madness.  When others learned of his death, they began wondering how a simple cartoon show could inspire such passion, and such hatred.  They began taking interest in MLP.  The first bronies were born, but as long as the Furies existed, they would ever be allowed to watch the show.  But one man took pity on the plight of the first bronies: the son of the Fury Queen.  He saw the justice in what they stood for, and he recognized the blind hatred of his mother.  He appeared before the bronies and taught them how to defeat the Furies.  He gave them a way to see through the Furies' magic.  The bronies confronted the Furies and destroyed them once and for all, but not before the Fury Queen slew her son for his betrayal.  Bronies were now free to enjoy the magic of friendship, and we will always remember the courage of Starswirl the Hecatonchires and the son of the Fury Queen.  Their sacrifice meant our freedom.

First episode was posted on /co/

Show was given decent reception

/co/ starts the "official pony threads"

pony is not contained to /co/ and begins to spread to /b/ /v/ and /x/

/b/ and /v/ do not like pony

pony is seen as too invasive, pony threads banned, any pony image gets you banned

people then post pony even more as a way to rebel

due to the bans, pony spreads throughout internet

normal people begin to pick up on it

pony reaches point were they cannot keep up with the constant bans and flame wars, /mlp/ is formed

pony has spread throughout the internet, fans tend to be overzealous and annoying as fuck.

Internet has backlash towards pony, pony spreads more thanks to trolls wanting to piss people off

Pony has now infected 90% of the internet

One faithful day, a group of brave young soldiers, inspired by colorful little ponies, ventured into the Caribbean Sea and slowly built up an offshore base to hold on to the beliefs of Love and Friendship. Many have tried to erase them from existence up until this day...

You are correct!

I think 4chan is too messed up to actually name them

4chan itself isn't too bad though. Most boards are just fine.

/b/ on the other hoof...

Ehh.

Which is where it all started, I think. ^^

The only thing I could think of after you said that was God of War.

Yes to the mentions of 4chan being where this nonsense started.

It's also where the word brony was formed. It was a dumb play on the fact that 4channers refer to everyone as 'bro'. People used the name 'ponybro', then someone was all "ponybro more like brony am I right?" and it stuck because it's such a stupid pun.

So if anyone ever tried to tell you that the name "brony" was created to make pathetic manchildren who like ponies feel more masculine, shove the truth in their face and go forth with pride ;)

It all started with 4chan. The chaos and the love and hatred for everything that was and is mlp. It is alpha and omega which means the beginning and the end. It started with 4chan and it will probably end there....

I don't care what pony you like because I like everypony!

Actually, that's kind of how I ended up liking it. I watched the Brony documentary and was like "Phh, this show. Come on!" Well, I DEFINITELY proved myself wrong. Times a million...

The fandom later started after in a previos moment in the earth's timeline, I thought to myself and questioned "wonder what my students are going to be like...?"

I'll let you wrap your head around that for a while. lol
