Diamond Tiara & Silver Spoon or Snips(Slips?) & Snails?

Alright, watching some analysis & reviews for MLP episodes (welcome to me pretty much whenever I am bored) & I am noticing a pattern; Hating DT & SS as well as S&S. So, I am interested to see what you all think. Whose worse? This isn't so much a debate so much as a poll on what you all think, but feel free to discuss it as much as you want!

 

PS; Personally, I hate DT & SS more, they feel a bit more antagonistic than S&S, who feel more dumb than anything

I dislike Diamond Tiara & Silver Spoon more

Snips and Snails don't really seem to have as much malicious intent and appear to be just goofy and a bit stupid - and I like Snails, to be honest. Snips grates on me, but I think Snails is pretty funny.

 

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon aren't idiots, though, they're just mean - that's why I think they're worse. Snips and Snails will pretty much do anything they're told by someone who comes across as assertive and smart, like Trixie or Sunset Shimmer - someone who could be a good leader. They're not smart enough to think on their own, to be honest - Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are just harassing innocent schoolmates with little to no provocation whatsoever, with the only thing that comes to mind is the CMC's cutie marks, or lack thereof (which is a terrible reason to harass someone, even though there's not really any good reason to do that in the first place.)

So, yeahh, I find DT & SS to be worse than Snips & Snails

Snips and Snails might be annoying and stupid, but DT and SS are more malicious and mean when it comes to picking on their classmates without any consequences or punishments given to them. So, there you have it.

Actually I really like Diamond Tiara, though I understand the hate she gets from the community.

Silver Spoon is OK.

 

I find Snips and Snails a bit stupid. Snails is still a pleasant character, but I can't stand Snips. I don't know why.

 

Overall, I prefer Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon...

It might just be me but it feels like the writers went out of their way to make DT&SS the worst ever. Don't get me wrong - they do exactly what i assume was intended - inspiring anger and hate towards them. S&S are kind of out there... i can't find myself hating on them, because they don't make it their personal quest to make the lives of the crusaders miserable sometimes.

Honestly, "Flight to the Finish" really just made me detest Diamond Tiara and, to a lesser extent, Silver Spoon to a whole new level. I'm sorry, but there's teasing and there's pure bullying.

 

While I do not care for Snips & Snails, at least they are friendly; if a bit stupid here and there. Heck, I even like Snails to an extent.

I think people hate DT and SS for the reasons you might hate someone in real life, but people hate S and S for being characters on the show. In my experience, I've noticed people hating Snips and Snails because in a show with predominantly female characters, Snips and Snails represent a tired stereotype of "idiot boys". You wouldn't hate them in real life but you might pity them. Most people would dislike Diamond Tierra and Silver Spoon if they were actual people.

As antagonists for the CMC, I get why DT and SS are part of the show.  And though I've only recently warmed up to the CMC (or its individual members) at all...  I've never liked DT and SS.  On the other hand, Snips and Snails are obnoxious in their own right. xD  But jerks / bullies are higher on my "dislike" list than a couple of dummies (even if their attempts at comedy don't often appeal to me).  And at least S&S were members of the Rainbow Dash fan club at the start of MMDW; they earned some points with me for that (but they're still in the negative, overall lol).

I'd have to say Snips and Snails. DT&SS have potential to be developed more. I think if they cut Snips and Snails were cut from the show, the show wouldn't be any different.

Scoutmaster91 I feel makes a good point. DT & SS have loads of potential for good storytelling for both tv and comics, outside of boring gag S&S have not shown themselves to have much to give expect when lackey ponies are needed. Its a shame since the fandom has done some interesting things with them, but the show simply doesn't have time nor wants to give those two a chance to be anything more then the "idiot boy"trope.

 

Because of this, my vote is S&S are whose since they serve not greater purpose other then to be stupid little boys and their motives are far to shallow to carry any weight in the show unless they decide to do alot of work to fix. DT and SS motives of why they only pick on the CMC have yet to be reviled. If Twilight Time, CotC and PC have shown that DT and SS have no issues with the other foals and those foals will happily hang out with them. So really DT and SS only have issues with the CMC and possible other blank flank foals, but from TT shows that most likely it really is only the CMC. Pipsqueak while being younger we not kicked out of the group and from TT screen shots there are plenty of blank flank foals in their school that show no sign of being bullied or problems with DT and SS. Between PC and TT I think we can make the small assumption that DT and SS really only take issue with those girls and no one else. If we ignore the boring plot device angle, it does open them up for some very interesting story plots if the writers want to.

I actually really like Snips and Snails. They're both lovable idiots. Snails especially reminds me of Ed from Ed, Edd, and Eddy, and I don't seem to have the problems other people have with Snips. Also, I like Snip's mane and voice.  Like others have said, they don't do anything overtly malicious. They're just harmless gag characters who do dumb things sometimes when people they admire tell them to.  

 

Diamond Tiara is a bully. Silver Spoon probably hangs out with her for fear of being bullied, but she still partakes in the bullying with her. They're both constantly harassing the crusaders, and that ain't cool. 

 

Naturally Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon serve a more important role on the show as antagonists. But, from a purely likability standpoint, I like Snips and Snails more.

I like Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. They are unique and interesting characters in this universe. I don't care for Snips and Snails though. They are just mindless followers with no integrity or interesting attributes.

I really dislike Snips and Snails. At least Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are smart and clever with their planning. But S&S  , their voices are really annoying!

DT & Silver Spoon were nothing more than one-note bullies for the whole show through at least "Twilight Time", when they were more like attention horses than straight-up bullies. Before that, I would have had them on equal ground, but now that DT & Silver Spoon have another facet to their personality, I wish Snips and Snails on Tirek.

Just because Snips and Snails are stupid doesn't make them awful characters. They're just harmless side characters, that's all.

 

I can't say I hate Diamond and Silver, but I slightly dislike them. They were very unlikable in Flight to the Finish, however. So I'm going to say Diamond and Silver.
