I want to bring in another character but it will be a temporary one. It's someone that owes Helena a favour and I was thinking that this favour could be used to keep them sheltered for the night, at least. What do you think?

...Anyway, I was actually wondering if I could eventually introduce another character. It's someone I made for an RP that's been in the works since the dawn of time, but I'd like it if I could sort of test him out here, to get a feel for him. I think he'd suit this setting pretty well.

Anything with the runes on it - the knives that he's carrying for example.

 

When one of them is found to be dead, one of their weapons is returned, repaired and inscribed with the runes that ward magic. Every hunter takes one with then when they set off into the world, so that the dead can continue to hunt and find honour.

 

So Adrass' knives are symbolic of a dead hunter that they belonged to. Much value - many feels.

Best way to describe it: knife goes in, magic stops working. Knife comes out, magic starts again. The bigger the weapon, the more runes can be fit on it and the greater the effect. Things like hammers are usually pretty useless as they don't 'stick in' things.

 

Fun fact: i've not fully decided yet, but i'm toying with the idea that they only work because the hunter believes that they will, there's no actual magic or power involved. They literally hate magic that much that they can negate it with a bit of silver and some fancy writing.
