Discordly Cutiepie 2,065 June 26, 2014 Share June 26, 2014 As the title suggests i do have OCD its where i need things to be symmetrical and in the right order or it really bugs me right now you know exactly what i have here is where im gonna say what happened. I was playing minecraft with my friends and where i was running around i started to level the floor so it would be the same around the houses what my friend did was dig random holes and place blocks so my OCD would kick in and by the end of it i was really pissed off about it what i want to know is has anyone got OCD and if so what are the ways of witch it annoys you Don't judge a book by its cover. longgone 873 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 I have it! x3I really do hate it when I'm building a house in minecraft, and the door/windows are not in order with the rest of them. Like, say for instance, the door was two blocks away from the left edge, but three blocks away from the right edge, not exactly in the center? That tends to bug me
Fluttershyfan94 5,742 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 Yeah, kind of for me it's with numbers. Even numbers to be exact, I have a few others but I try not thinking about it. Most of my OCD habits are sub-conscious so I don't really notice it. I'm a proud perfectionist as well, so the slightest can put me out of balance if I feel like something is imperfect. Let's say a small scratch, I would notice it and it would bother me. But it seems like some of my habits aren't as noticeable anymore. Lightning Bliss 1,674 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 (edited) Sadly mine is with my working and sleeping space, maybe even the space around the room and it was all developed over a series of unfortuneate events. - With my working/desk space, it happened when I got my first laptop. But I didn't have a desk or chair so I borrowed a children's sewing desk and a portable camping chair. Needless to say my knees were up to my stomach whenever I sat down, I was hunched over so I got pretty bad back problems, and I had to get malicious with how everthing was positioned just so I could max out the most comfortable space out of the most UNCOMFORTABLE position imagniable for a PC gamer and writer. By the time I got a proper computer, desk and office chair... the quirks or OCD stuck with me. I can't sit in my chair unless its in the exact same position, same with my computer screen, keyboard and mouse. If anything is out of order... I get annoyed thinking I won't be comfortable. What is worse is when someone happends to move either one of those in order to get access to something. It's not their fault, they didn't know, like my husband. But it's annoying cause I have to constantly fix it whenver anything is moved. It's gotten to the point I have issues when anyone sits in my chair at my desk thinking somthing will be moved. - My bed is just a force of habit, it HAS to be made in the morning, I can't stand it being a mess, it makes me feel like I'm lazy or trash, dunno why. Probably a self esteem issue. Point is, it has to be made. The only exception is if I'm sick and I'm staying in it most of the day. - And finally my bedroom. I have 6 rats and rats love to chew, so I am constantly finding new places to block off with cardboard or coroplast to keep them from chewing. It's become an OCD habit however because I'm constantly checking for spots. It's very annoying when I can't find the time to just TRUST my rat proofing security measures. Zygen 6,066 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 Idk if I have actual OCD, infact I'm pretty sure I don't. However I do have times where I like to be symmetrical, or have things be a certain way. Back when I use to play Minecraft I use to dig out tunnels In perfect symmetry, my friends called it my "OCD Caves" . We also had a tunnel system in Minecraft which I took upon myself to dig and replace to have the whole thing be out of cobble stone. I also like to be organized in general in certain things so idk. So I am a bit perfectionist, but I don't think I'm actually OCD . Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,302 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 (edited) I have fairly severe obsessive compulsive disorder; to the point that it's rather life-limiting. I have an aversion to human contact / touch, worry about substances I call "contaminants," and wash my hands frequently enough that they dry out and take on a soap scum-like appearance. I get caught in tiresome mental "loops" of my own making. I will question and analyze things, check and double check and triple check things, and I have some rituals and tics that come out from time to time. I don't / can't go to the local grocery store alone and purchase anything because I can't physically handle paper money / keep it anywhere on my person. Just can't. I'm always concerned about the varying degrees of cleanliness of things in my home / keeping the clean things clean and avoiding contact with the less clean things, and I will absolutely FLIP OUT if an outdoor feline somehow gets into my room. I mean it. Ummm... I guess I've shared enough. ^^; P.S. One of the most annoying / frustrating things about my own OCD is how even *I* think my behavior is ridiculous and unnecessary at times... But I still *have* to do certain things or do them a certain way. So there's a near-constant struggle involved. Edited June 27, 2014 by PegaMister 4 "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. mars 4,862 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 I don't think I have actual OCD in the slightest, but here are some things I do: - My food can not be touching each other. Let's say I have a plate of rice, beans, and a piece of meat (aah the classic Latino meal). I have to move the rice so it's not touching the beans or the meat on the place. If it touches my other food even slightly, I get disgusted. - In pokemon, I must have pokemon of all different types. They can not be the same type. I always nickname them, so their beginning letters must all be different. My starter pokemon must be two levels higher than any other pokemon because it is the lead pokemon. Each pokemon must be around the same levels: If one pokemon is a level 30, I will train each pokemon to be a level 30 (the starter would be a level 32). The pokemon order is like this:When Training My Starter: Starter Pokemon First, Than the Second Pokemon I Recieved, Than the Third, and etc. When Training My Newest Pokemon: Newest Pokemon First, Second Newest Pokemon Second, and etc. huh. i just realized I have a lot in pokemon.

One thing that sometimes works for me is thinking or saying a certain word. Like "stop" or "period." Like I'd just added punctuation to the end of a sentence and must move on. Commander Frost 731 June 27, 2014 Share June 27, 2014 This story is stupid but mine. Well, One day I was sick and I was supposed to organize the Cabinet. And My sister offered to do it. So I let her, and when I came out later to get a drink, she was just shoving stuff in there and it drove me crazy. I took over and organized the entire thing in 5 minutes. Bronychan1214 150 June 28, 2014 Share June 28, 2014 3 in fact but they are seriously complicated and I will try to explain them. One of them is it has to do with words. If they are other forms of a letter in a word like the s where it can swoop in more or less or just in the middle I have to do that in my head whenever a word with s in it comes up. Or the n with the little nub or not I have to do the same thing. It happens with all letters that have alternate ways to write to write them. The second one is to count in groups of four and this is where it gets even more complicated. I will say 4 in one pile and then have to say four in another pile and then count 4 more into each pile 4 more times....Got that? I know this is the more weird one. And the third one this one also had to do with letters. In a word I have to match up each letter here is an example- mustard- mu st ar and d doesn't have a match which bugs me so I continue the words until they do like di sy el lo w. I just did mustard is yellow but it works because I added a period at the end which I also count...I know they are very strange ocd's. Best pony. Best waifu! The Gasper 48 June 28, 2014 Share June 28, 2014 Same here, usually related to symmetry or numbers. I'd say more, but I gotta go to bed. In this world...In this world, it's not about how determined you are. It's about how far you are willing to go to get what you want. You punch me, I'll stab you, you stab me, I'll shoot you, you shoot me, I will murder every last member of your family. However far you're willing to go...I'll go further. GammaDove 428 June 28, 2014 Share June 28, 2014 I wouldn't necessarily say it's OCD, but I would call it OCPD. I never use spoons, I'm not afraid of them, I just don't use them. kind of like I have to color coordinate my candy and it eat it at a ratio to where it follows a pattern until all the candy is gun. Celli 4,338 June 28, 2014 Share June 28, 2014 I would probably say I have slight OCD for relatively small things. Nothing terribly significant.
CuriousPony 157 December 26, 2014 Share December 26, 2014 *raises hoof* I have OCD... I'm more of the, "repeat actions until they feel right or feel like something terrible will happen" type of OCD. I've got routines where I do things a certain number of times, and I tend to feel compelled to walk in and out of doorways at least once or twice, or sometimes over and over until it feels right. 1 Me in a nutshell. ponylaces 1,870 December 26, 2014 Share December 26, 2014 I'm not really sure if I have OCD, but stuff like this always happens.. I have tons of files on my computer, and I always need to keep them organized. If I'm done with something like a picture or document, I immediately go and delete it. I can't stand having messy files. I feel like there have been other situations like this, but I can't think of them right now. The weird thing is that it seems to be the opposite with my bedroom. I couldn't care less if my bed is not made, or an item is not in it's correct place. yeah idk 1 hello
