So interesting thing I've discovered: My bus rides to school consist of me staring blankly out a window, listening to metal. A good way to listen to new albums I find, if I do say so myself. Like with The Number 12 Looks Like You. Didn't really care about those guys that much until I started listening to them on ye olde MP3 player.

Y U NO pay attention to my links? Anyway, go look into the first and latest album, Empire Of the Obscene (for some heavy as all hell death metal) and Chaos of Forms (for an interesting take on Death metal, but with some pretty cool twists.

 

 

There's an organ solo in that.

 

 

The technique used in that song is mindblowing. In terms of musicians, take a look at the frontman's guitar playing. Mother fucker can shred like a badass, and at such a young age.

 

The only downside to them is that a lot of the experimental twists they put into their music can be viewed as a bit odd, and the vocals may or may not piss a few others off, but the band is still amazing IMO.

Most do, honestly. They had a real... honest is the best way I can think to put it... honest tone about them on that album. That was right when tuning low and using off time chugs (a.k.a. pretending you were Meshuggah) was becoming popular, and they just stayed in drop D and said, "Nope. We're shred as fuck."

 

Plus, the vocalist had a pretty unique sound. More so than the newest guy, though I did still like the second guy from his prior work in Nostalgia.
