Wow you've listed bands that I like, ones that I hate, and ones that I don't even know, as for the whole 5 thing, I chose a top 5 list because I wanted to start using that instead of just going off with 100 different bands that I like, it's much more convenient to have a top 5 list, even though it takes a long while of thought it's a nice thing to have

The only good part about going to my grandma's house for 3 fucking days is that my uncle takes me to some really shady bars with really shady bands playing there. This time we saw an Avenged Sevenfold cover band, and while they weren't that great, it's still a live show which makes it a fun time.

'Twas fun, sitting in the back of the house blasting music while the rest of our family sat there wondering where they went wrong with us.

I'm typing this from my phone because I'm torrenting some Acid Bath. EEYUP, the FBI and the RIAA can both f*Co off and suck on my cock.

>2013

>Not torrenting music

What have you been doing this whole time?

Random iPod shuffle... the winner is...Fuck you Djenty, Necrophagist it is.

@Not Twiliscael

I always pirate my music. Except for this one Kreator album,and a couple of Carcass albums and a couple of Death albums.

Oh yes, and Necrophagist is good too.

Glad I found this thread

My parents are ignorant and classify all metal as "death metal screamo stuff"

I like a little bit of all genres of music, but mostly Metal and Classic Military Marches

Is it just me or are the majority of people on here more into power and progressive than any other subgenres? It's just an observation of mine.

It's not surprising, I don't think.  They are some of the more popular genres of metal.

Not enough people listen to melodic metalcore ;__;

Yes but why those specific sub genres? And why among bronies? Why not black and death metal? Aka my preferred sub genres. Maybe that way I could get along with people on here better. I'm not too into prog and power metal. I won't lie, I've had arguments on here. I remember someone said Cannibal Corpse is the reason metal isn't taken seriously and I got mad. Because I really like their early stuff, they're minor arguments but still, I don't want to argue with anyone.

Because not everyone can appeal to Death Metal and Black Metal, the reason why the minority of metalheads don't prefer those two sub genres is because they aren't as easy to listen to, BM and DM are both, I guess you could say "acquired tastes" in the world of Metal, and plus you need to include the people who are starting to get into Metal, I would never recommend Cannibal Corpse or Burzum to somebody who is listening to Metal for the first time, I'd probably recommend some Progressive Metal, Alternative Metal, or Melodic Death Metal, since those genres are easier to listen to.

I agree it is an acquired taste, but one of the first metal bands I liked was Gorgoroth. I think I'm the only person on here who's posted anything by Obituary, Possessed, Bathory or Carpathian Forrest :(

As if there aren't deeper subgenres to death and black.

Do you even post-black metal? Depressive Suicidal? National Socialist? BLACKENED DEATH? oh, and I was the first person to post Carpathian Forest, if I recall correctly wink.png

Ooohh Depressive Suicidal Black Metal, now you've got my attention, and Post-Black Metal sounds quite interesting, I need to find some good DSBM bands sometime, it's something that I think would appeal to me.

AOTY 2012

Here's an album that legitimately creeps me out. Apparently the singer went insane/ cut himself/murdered people and shit. DSBM.

Ooh, I want a list of DSBM bands. So I can download it off the internet. BTW I can still claim to be the first person this thread to post Sadistic Intent, right?

Have you not seen any of my glorious deathcore? Not heavy enough for ya?

I have been on a more proggy kick recently, but I assure you I can provide the heavy with blast beats, incomprehensible growling, and everything else that's considered br00tal.

Does Atreyu's older stuff count as melodic metalcore?

I really like their first album a lot, it's definitely become one of my favorite albums right now.

I can come to the agreement that Atreyu's first album was good, though their recent stuff hasn't really impressed me too much at all, most of it just sounds meh or half decent to me.

Anyways here's a Coalesce song while were one the topic of Metalcore

I love Atreyu's first three albums (Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses, The Curse, A Deathgrip on Yesterday).

I agree with their recent stuff being meh. It's not that great, but I really like a few of their newer songs such as Becoming the Bull.

Becoming The Bull was the first Atreyu song that I had listened to and it's one of the few recent Atreyu songs that I actually like, Lonely if you ask me is probably the worst song that they've put out

You got to see an Avenged Sevenfold cover band??? You know I like that band a lot! I'm super jealous now :/

And since you posted an old A7X song, I guess I will too.
