I could need some help writing my music. I'm still pretty new to writing music. And I have a love for progressive rock such as Yes and King Crimson. But, I'm struggling to come up with music? Any help?

Okay, the question is, do you have any experience in music? If so, what kind and what instrument(s) do you play?

@@Cyan Blue,

Great! So I'm assuming you know quite a bit about chords and progressions right?

Yeah, of course! I've made some, but none of them were very spectacular.

@@Cyan Blue,

Okay. Do you know about the universal scale system?

Nope, never heard of it. I know what scales are, if that's even related.

@@Cyan Blue,

Okay, the universal scale system assigns each note of a scale a number and stacks them into chords like this

CEG - I

DFA - ii

EGB - iii

FAC - IV

GBD - V

ACE - vi

BDF - viio

CEG - I

So all of those chords will "go together"?

@@Cyan Blue,

You can put them in order to make a progession like this

I-V-vi-IV

This translates to

CEG-GBD-ACE-FAC
