Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,303 August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 (edited) I don know 'bout crazy, but I've tried some kinda interesting food combinations: Tuna fish + peanut butter; on a bagel (gets hot n' melty) or in a sandwich. Marshmallows or mandarin oranges or Oreo cookies or BBQ sauce / hot sauce-enhanced chicken nuggets on a pizza. Most of those ideas came from suggestions on these forums. I've eaten alligator, but that's not really insane or even that weird. I <3 anchovies. I like them on pizza (toppings removed), between slices of bread, mixed with rice, or just straight (particularly if it weirds someone out when I do it). Ehhh even I'm not impressed with any of that lol. Edited August 1, 2014 by PegaMister "It uses the faculty of what you call imagination. But that does not mean making things up. iceestarz 5,765 August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 A few years ago me and my best friend were so friggin bored. Then I came up with this awesome idea to try celery with basically everything in their fridge, cause her little brother was watching the wonderpets. Celery and mustard is super good! But well, pickle juice and celery is gross. -_- Anywho, we also made crazy sandwiches. Mine had mustard, celery, turkey, milky ways, kit kats, jalapeños, lettuce and bananas. It was freakin delicious.
Frostgage 7,976 August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 (edited) In Amsterdam, street vendors sell raw herring which you put down your throat whole. I decided to try it, and it really wasn't bad, but I don't think it's something I could get used to. Edited August 1, 2014 by Frostgage Signature by Lacerna | You should fill out my Johari Window. SkyDream 315 August 1, 2014 Author Share August 1, 2014 (edited) Sushi! Who the fuck likes raw fish? Gross!Sushi literally means seasoned rice. I've made plenty of rolls that have no fish whatsoever. Manzanilla olives, scallion cream cheese, avocado, and cucumber make an excellent roll. Maybe it's sashimi that you're thinking of, though you can of course put raw fish into a maki roll, given that 90% of them contain it. KatieBelle 302 August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 (edited) I don't really eat crazy food. Accept Calamari ('squid')... I I love it! xD And I don't even like seafood! Just Tuna and Calamari. It's best at PFChangs. Fried! xD I had no idea what it was when I first ate it. Actually, my mom didn't tell till years after I first ate(and liked!) it... One time I melted chocolate and caramel over potato chips...was amazing!! Oh bleh I tried sushi once when I was little... I was so colorful I couldn't help myself. GROSS! Also sashimi is delicious. The main reason I go for sushi. Edited August 1, 2014 by Lunatic Envy
SkyDream 315 August 1, 2014 Author Share August 1, 2014 I can't seem to appreciate sashimi in the same light as maki rolls. Sashimi tends to be chunky with the mental potential to be stringy, even though it may not be. Sushi is a divinely wonderful burst of flavor if you do it right. I recently combined egg salad, tuna salad, and some sort of lox spread salad on a tortilla chip. I don't remember what happened but I think I woke up on top of the roof with no clothes on. It was probably really delicious.

It was probably really delicious. I don't eat sashimi at buffets. They tend not to be as fresh and might suffer from the issues you've described. The fresh stuff from a clean well-reviewed restaurant though, it's awesome. I love the tuna, I pretty much never eat it cooked -- way too tough. Some fish just plain tastes better raw. I recall spending the night at a friend's place as a kid and we had nothing much in the fridge to eat in the middle of the night. Had a bologna sandwich with mustard and about half an inch of cream cheese. It was delicious.

Tigerpop198 696 August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 This fruit called durian, it kinda looks like a spiky watermelon. The smell is bad kinda similar to a garlic, and cream cheese. The taste is not that bad though.

boiteporte 591 August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 (edited) Well, in China, they have little grey worms that they sell in restaurants. And me, as a stereotypical European, I was like : "There is NO WAY I'm eating this." The worst thing is, you eat them ALIVE. When you put them in your mouth, they still move and stuff. Anyway, I wanted to please the Chinese people I was with, so , yeah, I did eat those things. And guess what, it was absolutely gross... But, again, I am a stereotypical European, so I knew I would not like them before even tasting them. I wish that you guys are more open-minded than me. I spent ages wondering whether I should chew them or actually swallow them whole Edited August 1, 2014 by boiteporte
Callisto 1,877 August 1, 2014 Share August 1, 2014 I think the only thing I've eaten that could be considered crazy is alligator, which isn't that strange. That's what I had when we were in Florida: Alligator steak. Its a cross section of the tail. Pretty good. Debbie got brave and had a taste. Though I did eat rattlesnake once at a state fair. Again, much better than I expected.
