The GTA series is a very popular game series amongst gamers.

There are quite a few games in the series.

For those who like the series, what is your favorite?

I personally like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

I personally think the storyline is incredible in GTA SA.

From my experience with the Grand Theft Auto games, I think I enjoyed San Andreas the most followed by Vice City.

On a side note I enjoyed the fifth game way more than the fourth.

GTA IV is the only one I have played (Which now refuses to work) and that was for PC.

I liked it while it worked, think I clocked about 50 hours on it.

I am looking forward to GTA V for PC though.

Having only played the one I can't say I have a favorite.

Grand Theft Auto 4 would probably be my favorite. I've played very little of the one's before it though. GTA 5 was alright but I feel like I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else did. I think my expectations were way too high.

Heh!  GTA is one of my all time favorite series!  I started playing it in 3rd grade (oops)!!!  I started out on GTA 3, and played every game from 3 and up.  I'd say my overall favorite is San Andreas just because of the memories my friends and I had playing it for hours and hours on end, all through the night...

But I love them ALL... Seriously... they were all awesome games.

Can you imagine GTA Ponyville/Equestria??? LOL

San Andreas has got to be my favourite, all the nostalgia and memories with my bro playing.

But GTA V was amazing, one of the best games of that year. Though some of the missions were annoying.

GTA SA was my favourite, I haven't played GTA V but when it's released for PC I'm sure it will become my new favourite.  I enjoyed GTA IV mostly because of the physics and the graphics which made causing mayhem appear more realistic.

In my experiences with the game, my select preffered GTA games were IV and San Andreas.

San Andreas revolutionized a lot of the game and its development. Cheats were more sound, the map had grown larger, it was no longer a bird's-eye view game, and gave the player a much more interesting story, as well as in-depth characters.

Grand Theft Auto IV completely gave the series a brand new kick, and its campaing was extremely well developed, the multi-player was phenomenal, and it was a generally fun game to play, both while still finishing the story and after completing it.

Honestly, I dislike the later GTA V, as the story was not too compelling, the multi-player simply did not appeal to me, and the game ends way too quickly.

B-Dup: "The only the Bear give a f*ck about is smoking and keeping my house clean. Ain't that right, Big Bear?"

Big Bear: "Hell yes."

B-Dup: "Hell yes what?"

Big Bear: "Hell yes sir!"

B-Dup: "Now go make that motherf*cking toilet sparkle"

I almost died laughing. XD

It's really hard to choose, being I have pretty much played every single one released on console (GTA III and onwards), not to mention beat, every single one released on console (GTA III and on).

I really can't choose, because how groundbreaking (almost) each game in the series was.

GTA III: It's considered the original, despite the few 2D versions that came before it. GTA III is what put sandbox games on the map, where you have that ability to free roam as you please (but playing the story is needed to progress to new parts of the respective cities). I know when I was younger playing it, it was nothing but drive-byes and running NPC's over. GTA III is also one of the first games to utilize a full-3D universe experience.

Vice City: Vice City is critically acclaimed as the first video game to take full advantage of licensed music, as opposed to using in-house composed music. Vice City also attracted A LOT of famous actors to do voiceovers. Guys like Ray Liotta, Gary Busey, Luis Guzman, Danny Trejo, Dennis Hopper, Lee Majors, Burt Reynolds and Tom Sizemore, all voiced an actor in the game. Many carried over into the mess created by Rockstar London, known as Vice City Stories.

San Andreas: San Andreas got more serious, by adding the first African American protagonist. It also took a different approach by adding in more real-life elements into the story line. The big thing for SA was how many side activities were available to partake in, including the basic, single-screen multiplayer. That, and it is the best selling video game of all time for PlayStation 2.

LCS & VCS: Both prequels for III and Vice City (respectively), both lacked any sort of refinement, and went with the same animation style GTA III was created in. The story lines were both horrible, the activity outside of the story was less-than-desired, and they both just flatout sucked. Not even a Phil Collins cameo appearance in the latter could save them.

GTA IV: GTA IV brought the series into a whole new light, signalling the start of the HD Universe. The map wasn't the biggest (Smaller than SA), but it was incredibly detailed. A lot more consideration was taken into character development, including the plot decisions that could ultimately affect the end of the game. Rockstar's first attempt at a GTA Online debuted with the title, but it turned into a giant, free-for-all mess. The 2 DLC's that went with it intertwined 3 separate story lines into 1, and effectively extended the already action-packed story.

GTA V: The level of detail in Rockstar's latest game is the reason why we wait 4-5 years for a new one. The really did their research, and effectively created Los Angeles, albeit with differences, to keep with the twisted, satirical world GTA is set in. The decision to expand to 3 protagonists was definitely a first, and added a lot of intrigue as the plot unfolded. The level of customization and detail is unbelievable, and each month typically brings a new DLC full of even more content for players to get their hands on. GTA Online, which makes a successful debut within the title game, is pretty much a game in itself, and expands even more on the GTA world that what we thought was initially possible. GTA Online also signifies one other detail: Rockstar is actually taking a stand against modders, cheaters and whoever else exploits the game for benefit. Rockstar is pretty much the first to do so, and in doing so, it makes the game better to play, as players are on a more even playing field.

That's why it's so hard to pick just one.

(By the way, if you get a 100% completion in GTA V, the game will show you a preview of the next game in the series, which happens to be Vice City II, slated to come out some time in 2017).

Edit: Yes I know, I really do need to get a life.

Grand Theft Auto V

But before, somepony complains, I only ever played IV and V, only watched my big brother playing VC and SA, when I was younger.

Legends never die. Ponies neither.
