The whole photoshopping pony pics into realistic backdrops isn't my thing but if I wanted to do it badly enough than I would without any regard whatsoever how others would judge me. I admire your courage. Perhaps I am wrong to judge these people. I would not be nasty if a friend of mine would do this. However, I would be worried that someone would try bully them. Alright, you're logic behind this is just getting silly. It's not like people would shoot you the streets for making a freaking photoshopped picture of yourself hugging Twilight. Geez dude, how little is your faith in humanity? Yeah, maybe you're right. I have plenty of faith in humanity. But I also know the next Ted Buddy could be anywhere and anyone. But that's not broadly what "social outcast" means. In and of itself, it pretty much just means being left out of social groups. Not fitting in. Being rejected, often passively. This is true. While I do admit there is a fine line, that line can still be blurred at times depending on the level in which people will go. I'm not trying to make it sound like I'm disagreeing with you. It's just that it's sometimes never wise to generalize to a level that underestimates people. I'm not saying that you are however. I don't see most of the people that may have a problem with this going necessarily that far but there is the occasional disturbing incident like that one it talked about the in the brony documentary where this guy almost got shot because of his Luna bumper sticker. These sort of incidents are not widespread luckily but even the non violent ones like simple bullying can lead to cases like Michael Morones who tried to commit suicide because he was being bullied for being into ponies.What the heck is wrong with society?When liking a simple cartoon show can almost get you shot. Honestly, I am not this kind of people - ask my good friend napoleon bonaparte if you don't believe: isn't that true , napoleon?- because I am not as cool as they are, but that don't mean I don't have social issues, and having imaginary friend doesn't mean you have to be the shy guy that spent all the time in internet. They love ponies that are 20% cooler than badasses that will judge you for being different.so they want to interact with them, the good thing that they have the imagination to do that. And doing that is cool make them feel better. Some of them like to share their lifestlye, great ! and Many of the pictures are touching. no offence , but moar pinkie, plz . Their way to act are different with you? Great! but plz don't treat them as aliens- personally I don't have problem with aliens, but......oh, I am off topic!. I don't know what is the great mess with autistic people, Honestly I was austistic as a child, and I know that they are the people that need more love than anyone. They are austistic ? maybe. They really need love and friendship, words that aren't in the dictionary of the bullies that will mock them only because they have more imagination seems funny. A lot of them have the actual person who photoshopped them in them and most trolls are too cowardly to show their actual faces. I absolutely have no problem with it but, It's sometimes how they do it that makes it cringe worthy to me. Thanks to some of the responses in this thread it actually doesn't seem all that odd, primarily when it's compared with Japanese culture. I am not a huge Japan buff but I think I've seen that 2D romance sims and girlfriends are popular there in place of actual relationships, which is related to the whole statistics concerning their lack of desire for interpersonal intimacy. That could be what is happening here, and they should hardly be faulted for it. It could be any number of things really even if it isn't because of the above reasoning. It's pretty irrelevant why some bronies do it even if it is an interesting course of action. Few things I know of are so benign.
