What's wrong with pony photoshops?

Well they're poorly done and very poorly fit in the environment the majority of the time, and the people making them actually take them seriously. It almost feels like the people that make these photoshops are so desperate for any sort of actual, legitimate interaction with these fictional characters, that's next-level obsession and these publicly-posted photoshops kinda show it. This is why I specifically mentioned blackgriffen, him among others are known for these really awkward and poorly-done photoshops that make him come off as creepy and obsessed. I'm not saying every pony-related photoshop is like this, but the ones I've seen in the OP ARE like that and I'm confused as to why anyone would see that as "normal".

What's wrong with pony photoshops man? It's called self-expression, showing your support and love for the show and it's characters. And as an aside: mental disability has nothing to do with it. I don't really see how it's any different/worse than drawing fan art.

Well if you actually read what I wrote in reply to Emerald, you'd see that I wasn't referring to all pony photoshops. There are some done purely for artistic purposes but I'm wondering why the people in this thread are defending the likes of venom2204 and metalgriffen69 who pretty clearly are doing this for either attention, compensation for the lack of existence of their pastel horse waifu, or both.

Those are two completely contradictory statements, you're saying we shouldn't defend them from unfair criticism, but you don't find what they're doing acceptable, and at the same time you think they should do it if they want to? That makes no sense. What they're doing IS artistic expression regardless of what you personally think of the quality.
