I don’t need a cellphone or internet, and would be thrilled if both disappeared from the face of the earth forever. Without the forced dependence on such things, the world would be free, clear and able to think again.

I wholeheartedly agree with this.

On a similar note, there was a news story about some local “phone-free” clubs. People created these clubs as they have grown tired of being attached to technology.

I think it’s kind of awesome that people are opting for more personal and traditional way of communicating.

I'm sure going without would benefit me in the long run

Communication and navigation are two huge positive benefits of cell phones, but beyond that I find entertainment to be a negative, I spend far too much time distracted by my phone, Music, videos, doom scrolling on social media reels, it all really sucks me in and It all ends up being such a waste of time, not to mention the effect on dopamine and my ability to start or accomplish tasks that are less stimulating.

Definitely merit in not having a phone or at least being able to better control how you use it.

I am fine being without a phone for a long time. Being without internet becomes unbearable after a whole day or two.

I have gone with a cell and net and can do so.  Its also why I go rustic camping a lot when I can to get a break.
