Just in case everyone wonders where my post from yesterday is at, you're not the only one. -,-' The site/my browser (not tech savvy enough to be sure) were running a bit slow when I posted, but usually when it goes in a loop it tends to have the post registered, so I waited 10 minutes, then closed it down so I could sleep.

 

...Turns out I should've perhaps made a security check on this instead of assuming things were okay, because the post is gone. :/ Some of it is left from the *Last auto saved* function thankfully, but I still need to remake roughly half of them, so... Yeah, sorry for the delay. :/ Hopefully the next time, I'll have learned from this and save it to a word document or something just to be sure.

Well, you know what they say: A picture is worth a thousand words. Not agreeing with it entirely, but I can work with what I see, and then keep you posted if something's off later on in a PM. For now, consider yourself accepted, and watched like the last muffin on the plate. :3

 

We need to place you first though, so gonna start off witht he simple thing, then take it from there: You wanna join in on the main story right off the bat, ease in towards it, or have an unrelated adventure? All are acceptable, and all will be supported. I just need a starting point. ^^

I know I usually only make a post a day, but @, is a special case that I made an exception for. He were the first who joined the thread back in the day, kept my mood up in the early days when I wasn't sure if this thread would do well with his funny little posts, and when the thread hit a low with just him and me left, he helped keep it alive until more came around. He is a great part in why this thread is still here, so I figured the least I could do for him was to push in an extra post.

 

Great to have you back too, my friend. ^^ And no worries, I'm 98,3% sure that none of the others bite.

y'know, I've been lurking around this thread for God knows how long and never mustered the courage to actually apply for it... But since it's been so long since I last RP'ed around the forums, heck, I figured this might be a good place to get back onto it~

 

Before I do that though, if you don't mind, I'd like a few instructions on how to approach this RP. Like, a summary of the story progress so far (if there is one, heh), where the characters are at the moment, how and when to introduce my own character, basic stuff like that, just so I don't immediately mess up on my very first post like a dumbo. I would really appreciate all the help I could get since I'm a complete stranger to Slice-of-Life genres.

I would say this is more of an "Anything Goes" style of RP than a "Slice-of-Life" RP. We somehow went from cooking marshmallows in the forest to fighting a giant spider to cutting down trees, then from traversing the Realm of Dreams to fighting a demonic creature that tears people from the memories of the world. The demonic creature was defeated in Ponyville, then its victims from millennia ago came back in large numbers in Ponyville. A temporary settlement is being created to the North of Ponyville right now for them. Most of them are from before Equestria was created, and not all of the victims are ponies (a great opportunity to introduce a character out of their time). @Blitz Boom can catch you up on other parts of the RP.

 

I almost forgot to mention that one of my characters took one of Blitz's characters back in time to early Ponyville and will be bringing him back further.

I've been on this one since the start, though I had a large period where I couldn't participate... I can say that if it's still anything like it used to be, you won't have to worry too much. Communication is/was encouraged, and if you have any worries, questions, or concerns, you can always feel free to state/ask/express them and get a helpful friendly response, so there's no need to be nervous or anything. I'm sure Blitz wouldn't mind explaining things to you when he jumps back on, I'd tell you about what's going on in it, but I only know the main stuff of recent posts, and even then not all the details. Enough to post, but not really enough to reliably explain without worrying about giving you the wrong info.

 

Still, if you join and stuff, don't hesitate to speak up if you're ever uncertain about anything. 

 

Wish I could help more, but don't worry, Blitz is very nice and very helpful (And fun and funny ), and I'm sure you'll probably be fine and welcomed as long as you don't try and godmod or anything silly like that. (I'd add the usual, 'Be kind and Respectful', but you don't seem like a pony who would be rude for no reason)

Welcome to the thread mate, it's a pleasure to meet you.

 

As the others mentioned, this is really a *anything goes* sort of RP. I allow for everyone to have either a part i a main story that have been driven by others (Currently, Seamore have something running that is basically what he said. With the demon thing) and mingle with anyone to their hearts contend, to latch on to a side adventure (There is one that have currently lead to Dragon Land, and one in the forest with a Goo Pony, one happening somewhere else too with some creatures called longma, one in Canterlot where a few are looking for housing, what Seamore said about a time travel with one of mine, one with a siren, and... One with a bat pony, a mutated cat and a unicorn looking for what happened to the unicorn's village. They just left Zecora's place)) though we also have plenty that circles around the town with the main story running that you could end up running into if you take part in the main gig.

 

The option is also there to have something unrelated, where you decide what will happen. I'll either latch on there myself to provide a writing partner, or match you up with another. This goes for any of the choices though, really. As an example, we have @, who joined yesterday, and is currently wandering into Ponyville, which would be one I could match you up with if it were. I am more than happy to RP with anyone here personally, but I do so welcome interaction between others. ^^

 

Also, the town RP is currently split in two. One of them is ongoing on the day of the attack, whilst the other is the day after, when they are trying to rebuild the town. I have anyone new joining in that want to be part of the main story on the day after, as it is less messy and hardly requires any explanation on what went on in town. That sort can be RP'ed out easily with some interaction. ^^

 

I can briefly say what went on. Copied from something I wrote to Storm Shine:

 

Once upon a time, there was a being referred to as The Forgotten One (big hulking demon thing) that took some beings - mainly ponies - and *ate* them so to speak. BAsically, it trapped them in a plane not unlike the spiritual one and feasted on their energy. Kinda hard to explain, but that is what I got out of it at least.

 

Anyway, it was trapped, and for the past thousand years it was specifically trapped inside the shrine that Last Stand and her family (amongst others) have protected for generations. They were dismissed when Luna returned, new guardians were set up, but the gem it was trapped in were stolen, put on a big spider, and set out into the Everfree Forest to create a rampage so that othrs would come along and kill it. And crack to gem, letting the thing out.

 

It got out, spent some time gaining enough energy to truly manifest, then set out to attack Ponyville. Much battle were had, but eventually, it were killed, and the ones it ate long ago is now back. I think it's a few dozen of earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns from the time when the tribes were separated, so currently waiting to see how this will go.

 

There were some strange races in town, helping with the fight when it were. One of them were the Anansi, which is basically somewhat humanoid spiders, large foxes that can talk called... What was it again... Kitsune, right. Some changelings that followed te foxes and two that might have stuck out a bit more. One of them were a large, winged hippo with horns that would be pretty hard to miss, and the other one, would be a figure that were a little taller than most regular ponies and completely covered in a robe. Including his tail. He's a Serpanther (Seamore's idea) which is basically a feline body and paws, but a snake head and tail.

 

The last two were there in the interest of maintaining the balance, and actively have set up things in advance for the demon thing to attack town. The hippo for example, were the one who stole the gem and got it to the forest, though why exactly I don't know yet. Something with timing I suppose.

 

@@Seamore Sandwich, will likely say if I messed something up there, but it is the basis.

 

So then, do you have some questions? If not, could I ask if the link in your signature is of the character you wish to join with? It will help me to know when I come with suggestions where you might fit in, if you wish to mingle from the start that is. We can ease into things as well or have a thing standing on it's own too, as mentioned before. ^^

Wow, this is way more complex than I thought... Which then again, is not a bad thing at all. This 'anything goes' deal sounds really interesting. It's awesome that you're able to give every player freedom of choice like that so they can make their own stories. That's actually one RP idea I'd been brewing for the last couple of days; a Build-Your-Own-Adventure style RP. Glad I found this one, though!

 

Anyway, I'd absolutely love to join in the party! Yes, the link in my sig is the character I'd like to use. It's my most recent - and only active - character, little miss Trinket over here. She works as a Toy Maker in Baltimare, so I figured I could introduce her by bringing her to Ponyville to help with the reconstruction of the town. Because y'know, if she makes toys for a living, she can probably make... houses... too... yeah?

 

So how does that sound?~

You suggest our characters could've known each other from some earlier time? If anything, Trinket's toy store is relatively "famous" around Baltimare, so most children would know about herself or about her shop at least.

@@Driz It's possible Serenade spent most of her life in Baltimare(getting a degree in Astronomy) and then in Canterlot working for the Crown before moving to Ponyville to escape the nobles of Canterlot.

This I like. ^^ We need a way to get it all mixed up though, since Serenade and Ziggy haven't been part of the current RP thus far. That is, if we want to go with the reconstruction of town start... Hmmm...

 

We could say that Ziggy and Serenade are currently a week back int eh RP, then skip ahead some time as they are preparing the meeting she is supposed to have with Princess Luna and Princess Twilight? I could see that taking some time to set up properly, and with the chaos in town, it'd give Seamore some more prep time while his work load gets sorted properly. What's your thoughts on this Moonlit?
