"I actually should look into whatever bounty boards may be active in the area, now that you bring it up. I have some expertise in the field, and it would be nice with an additional source of income, from time to time.

That said, I am not trying to convert any of them, to go into that line of work. The one we were chasing, had as they said, harmed Omen. As much as I think it is actually possible to harm her, anyway

They had therefore, a personal reason for chasing her. As did I, since... *sigh* The perpetrator in question, were my mother. I do not consider her family, due to numerous reasons, which includes her crimes. That said, I sought answers, and to stop her from causing more harm. In some way, I suppose I felt responsible, as she were blood related.

You needn't worry about me dragging them into dangerous professions though. I wish no harm to come to them, and if I need to hunt, I would prefer to do so alone, regardless. I couldn't forgive myself, if I brought my friends into harm's reach, and they got severely hurt because of it."

“If there are any bounty boards in town, the local guard station might have one. Old Canterlot is a relatively quiet place, so I really doubt they’d have bounties up, but what do I know? I’ve been in this town for years and I still don’t know every inch of it. Still, that business… going after your mother and knowing my niece and nephew were involved… that sounded rough and complicated, but I hope that’s resolved. I’d hate to find out I’m getting dragged back into matters I thought I put behind me when it would be better to move forward. Regardless, it is good that you and Omen found Sen and Lin, and they found you.”

There was some hint that Uddo’s words were meant more for himself than Rosa, but it didn’t make them any less true for the thestral. Perhaps it was in leaving home and learning about the greater world outside the forest or having to leave the old life behind to forget it only to have it come to him in some form. It wasn’t all bad, but there were reminders here and there telling him about what he might have forgotten only for those to bury themselves in the back of his mind.

He’d pause for a moment to take a bite out of the assortment of food on the table, clearly enjoying the selection. The spinach puffs were a a delicious runner-up to the moongrown potatoes despite them being a little cold. Likewise, Kiba was enjoying the vegetable roll, especially when mixing the sauce dripping out the sides with the salad his father prepared. Clearly, the dishes the siblings and their companions brought were solid choices.

Regarding my occupation... I have recently been hired to assist the Canterlot guard, with some new perspectives, they believe will assist them in providing further safety. I have a certain knack for observing, and understanding the way others work, that allows me a useful perspective. It is akin somewhat, to that of a changeling scout. Observational skills, that touches on behavioral science.

In essence, I am good at spotting flaws in for instance, security measures. So I'm helping them to correct such things, so others with less good intentions, are not exploiting them.

When I am one day done with that... I am not certain. Perhaps I will attempt to train others in survival courses, and hoof to hoof combat? It is always important, to be able to protect yourself, as well as understanding, and respecting, the wilderness. Plus I enjoy educating others. Which I suppose, are heard in the fact that I am one who speaks quite a lot. I am again, sorry for that. Sometimes, I suppose I simply begin to ramble.

“From the way you describe some of the more affluent ponies and what you’re currently doing, you seem to be very knowledgeable about a lot of things. I can image that’s what the Canterlot Guard saw in you if you are acting as a… consultant. Is that the right word? I didn’t think the guard would have such an opening, but I won’t question it if it means whatever it is you’ll do will help others. Maybe I could enroll myself and Kiba in one of your courses if you are accepting students. What you have in mind can be useful. Oh, before I forget, let me get a bowl and some water for your little friend.”

Sen and Lin breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like they’ve dodged out of having to dodge difficult questions to keep the more unsavory parts of Rosa’s history concealed. What the thestral did wouldn’t cause submission, and if the siblings being relieved brought untoward attention to themselves, they’ll just chalk it up to the soup being spicer than expected.

Speaking of occupations though, I would ask Kiba of something; Are you intent to follow in your fathers footsteps, and either take over the store, or run one yourself? Or have you other aspirations?"

“Growing up with the workshop closeby got me interested in what father does, and he does good work. I guess you can say I haven’t found many career paths I’m interested in, but I like to think I know more about looking after father’s business than anything else. After all, mother and father have been teaching me about it when I have free time, and I run the store in mother’s absence like now. I think continuing the family business is my calling.”

“It’s good you have something to look forward to doing, Kiba. Or is it alright if we could start calling you cousin?"

“Maybe its best if you use my name for now. Learning that you’re my cousins was unexpected, and it hasn’t set in quite yet. Speaking of aspirations, how about you, Miss Omen? Same to you, Sen and Lin?”

The longma siblings paused for a moment and thought about their answer. Though they had encountered this question many times before, it was something that they didn’t quite figure out just yet. Between obligations back home and traveling a lot, there hasn’t been enough time to settle in and think this through, not to mention the complications of establishing something lasting outside the forest. At least for Sen, it seemed like his answer hinged on what happens back home, on whether he’ll still have something to give him direction there.

“We… are keeping our options open. Being exiled from home at a very young age meant our focus was on thinking about our next meal more than what we’d like to do. I think deciding what is interesting and right for herself is true for Omen. This is very much her choice, right?”

Ruby's nice words weren't entirely illogical for her, after all, she would have used similar reasons to explain her own poor success in similar situation, though it was of course progress that she used the same logic to judge Leviathan as she did to herself, since it implied she held her to higher worth than most.

Ruby didn't really listen to music, so she didn't have much of a preference, but if there was something with name that sounded more her style, or in other word, a name with something violent or dragon-like in it, she'd choose it, otherwise her choice would be random.

She was less the kind to listen, and mainly focused on the arrows, because while she was good at patterns, her eye-leg coordination was better. In the end, her result was pretty good, though still in the limits to not rise any eyebrows coming from a pony, here her being in a wrong form really had effect, because no matter how experienced she was with it, her movement as a pony wouldn't come as naturally as they did in her real form, simply put, she didn't break any records, but one could be fooled she had played before. "That was surprisingly....aright."

------------------------------------------------

"Trouble with me, yes, Lyriel is just a friend helping me." Scarecrow specified "And no, I don't work at graveyards, though I'd certainly belong to one." he joked, not that there was really a way to tell, and while a joke, it was also true "I'm not what you see at the moment, this is merely a disguise to allow me to walk among normal ponies." "I feel death aligned because I am dead." he felt comfortable to be honest with the filly, she seemed weird enough to be trusted with it, no offence to her of course.

--------------------------------------------

"Of course" Chega said happily, she would carve not only her name, but also either a small poem relating to what she had been told, or a cute little drawing of similar theme depending on how much room there were, regardless of which it was, it would be praising in tone/style.

While she did that, Sear spoke, she was familiar with the Jellies as they had seen them on their travels "I hope she heals well if not already healed, those things can be nasty." being fireproof herself, they weren't as big of a problem to her as to many, though even she preferred to avoid them, but she knew how dangerous they could be "Tell her that if she wants to, next time I'm around there she can come talk to me, I'd be happy to sing something to her." Chega then stated with a smile, she believed that those helping others should be celebrated, and that was partly why so many of her songs focused on less knows stories of heroics, sacrifice and such, everyone knew the stories about the elements of harmony, but what about the lesser known stories?

The siblings stayed quiet, trying to stay out of the situation, they heard and believed the story, but they recognized their own bias and their difficulty to treat it like they should, so they figured it was best to just keep to themselves. They had no idea what Sunstream jellies were, but the context clues gave them enough information that jumping into one was dangerous.

"I was wondering if it would be possible to make a smaller, portable form of a harvester. To store excess love. "Howl explained.

"It's because his Fiancée loves him so much. She calls him love bug too." Ginger got a smug look on her face because she knew these kinds of things embarrassed him.

"That sounds like a challenge for me to bring up something that's embarrassing for you, Cheese Weevil."his face stretched into a smirk.

"Do that and I won't forgive you. Ever." She huffed in a pretend pout.

Howl ruffled her mane, the holes in his hoof getting tangled in the unkempt mass. "... How many times have I told you to take care of your mane?"

"I forget to brush it sometimes, ok?!" Ginger  squeaked defensively as she untangled his hoof from her mane.

"You really ought to take care of yourself." he sighed.

@Kujamih

The kits looked oddly disappointing to hear, that it wasn't Discord at first, until it dawned on them, what were actually said.

"There is more than one of them here? The elders should know about this."

It wasn't something known to everyone, but the kitsune were actually one of the few, that had some admiration for Draconequui, and in particular, had been on good terms with Discord. As tricksters themselves, they could respect the lord of chaos, for what he were. He in turn, seemed to feel like the foxes were some of the more intriguing mortals. Albeit rather traditional, but he had ponies to lesson about the fallacy of boring normality before he'd get to the kitsune on that.

"And we know you're not one of them. You're too normal looking. Just a pony. She looks more like them than you."

They'd both point at Shark, who were trying to say the word draconequus, but were stumbling on it a little.

"Can we see the one who made you, Shark?"

"Special one in forest. Go see her some day, yes? Bring fuzzy kitsune."

The kits looked openly excited about the idea. Seemed like they and Shark were connecting well. With Light too, though a bit shakier. Nothing major though. They'd probably get along. Although they had a good snicker when Shark reacted affectionally to Light's touch, by turning her head, and licking him from chin to ear.

"I don't want to ruin your bonding, but uhm... I think the lecture is about to start soon, and we have a tour to finish. Unless you'd rather stay here for the lecture?"

Bubble would interfere, after standing still, and just watching for a time. But there would soon be a lecture, so if they wanted to stay, they'd have to sit through that. Otherwise, it'd be important for them to walk off. They could speak with the kitsune later, probably.

"Vivid Loss... How oddly familiar. Most likely a coincidence, I suppose. Two words as those, would be repeated quite a bit in their tomes. It should mean little. Though I still feel weary, of that creature. There is something... Unnatural about her.

I suppose, it is for the living to sort for now however. You wished to know the name of the town? I had assumed one had spoken it already. The name is Sanctuary. Came from the time they were granted permission to establish this small town, where they could practice their craft in peace. To them, it were a sanctuary, as many shunned the arts of death, and still do. It seemed appropriate then, to name it what it were.

There were a few generations ago, that some brought up changing the name, but it never went far. As you can tell, tradition is important to them.

Speaking of which, while they deal with... That, should we go and present you to the third of your testers? She is not far from here."

It seemed best to leave the others tot heir own thing for now. They'd likely meet again soon, but until then, they could move on, with what they originally intended.

I will admit, in that particular hunt, I did turn out to need help too. I had gotten a little too over my head. It will not repeat itself.

Although that said, Omen would do well in protecting them, if things does happen. She have some... Peculiar skills. Do not show them now, Omen. Let dinner proceed in peace, please."

He had to make sure to tell her this, as otherwise, he were fairly certain that she would just have opened a gate, right here and now. And while that would have been... Something, he felt rather certain they'd prefer to enjoy dinner right now first, rather than seeing that.

Trying for some variety in his dinner too, as he saw others do, Rosa would try some that they had not brought, and would try the bowl of soup. He were not one for incredibly strong food, but he were certain this were not so bad. If the others could eat it, so could he. Omen not included, as by that standard, he should be eating wallpaper, and fire opals.

"...My compliments to the chef. It is a good soup. A bit of a kick to it, without being too thorough. An enjoyable spice, to the evening table."

They should be thankful that Kiba and Uddo, were not as well trained in observation, as Rosa were. Cause he noticed their reaction, and relief, and would have followed up with questions, had he been in either of the longma's shoes. Thankfully it didn't seem they caught up on that, so the slight white lies, could continue, undisturbed.

"I like to observe others. It teaches me, much like literature, or educators, would for others.

As for your assumed title, a consultant is in essence what I am, yes. Just without the ability to then also sell my services in that regard, to others, due to the obvious conflict of interests, that might cause.

And they would not normally have this, I suppose, but think of the recent attacks of creatures, and outside forces, in recent years. As well as the princess, and her endeavors to connect with many varied creatures. One could argue it were only wise then, to ensure they were prepared for things, in relations to either of those two. Ideally, it would not be needed, but the world is sadly not an ideal place, and there is always those, more than willing to take advantage of those not knowing better. I'm simply helping them to notice such things easier, and give suggestions on how then to handle them.

In regards to the courses, if I at some point can find the time to begin them, I shall notify you promptly. I taught Sen and Lin a simple thing some days past, and can say that what I can show, should work well for longma physique in general."

He were referring to the choke grip, that he had showed his friends, as well as a move or two to escape it. That had been enough to show him, that most things he had taught in his own classes, could pass along rather fluently, to Longma. Perhaps with a few changes to some, but those were minor details, for the time being.

"You are using many big words."

"We're asking what you'd like to be, if you had the choice."

"A pony."

"...I did not expect that, but the question were not with race, but with a job. What would you like to do, if you needed a job, like everyone else?"

"...I do not know. Master wanted me to deliver things. Maybe that?"

Omen would fall silent after that, and just slowly gulp in the last bit of soup from her bowl. She had suddenly gotten some things to think about, that she hadn't expected.

"That was surprisingly....aright."

Leviathan had gotten rather into the spirit of things, as the dance had gone on, and ended the song both pushing down the last buttons with her feet, whilst also making a pose, which got a few claps from around, from those thinking it were nice to see this. Leviathan weren't a master, but she had still beaten Ruby by a little, as she were more used to this sort of game, though for a beginner, Ruby had done pretty well. Better than several ponies would've, on their first try, that's for sure. Her observational skills were top tier, and really showed.

"Aaah, that was invigorating. Good job there, Ruby. For a beginner, you made for good competition."

Seemed like it caused a few raised eyebrows. This pony were new at it? Her points didn't show that. Maybe a hidden talent, that were just starting to bloom up? They didn't know better, and would think of it in Equestrian ways like this, which just made it so that they wouldn't start to scrutinize. Not that there were a reason for them to do so, in the first place. Even if they somehow figured our Ruby were in disguise, they'd at worst think she were a changeling, and things were better with them these days, so that wasn't such a big issue. A dragon on pony form? No one would be thinking about that, since to them, that just didn't happen.

"Alright, that's warmup done. Think Charir would be game for trying? It's a fun way to get the blood pumping."

She'd pick another song with some beat in it, if he agreed, then get moving. Time to see if she could beat him at this game, after he trounced her in the last. Youth weren't always gonna be beating the old timers, if she had something to say about it. Hah!

========================================================================

@Catpone Cerberus

The filly seemed confused. Crow though, would make thing apparent, by lifting off from Scarecrow, and after an odd, one second delay, his disguise would falter, revealing his true self to the filly. She'd let out a gasp, but weren't moving. Seemingly just observing, through the dark cloth in front of her face, for several seconds, thinking of what to say. Crow would soon after though, land back on Scarecrow, making the disguise flicker back into existence again.

"Woah. Whoever raised you, did a strange job. Never seen a risen quite like you."

"You may understand the need for him to visit your family's home then. Ploughman were kind enough to show us the way, yet we could use a guide for the last stretch. Would you be so kind as to help us?"

"Of course. I bet whatever brings you here, our family can help. Are you in disguise too?"

"Not quite, little one. I am a dryad. And may the Earth Mother smile upon you, for your kindness."

She'd reach a hoof over, and gently stroke down the filly's head and neck. Gave her a little shiver it seemed, though with th face covered it were hard to tell if it were in a good, or bad way.

"Oh man, they're gonna make big eyes when we all get there. Come on, I'll show you the way right now.

Caroline, we're leaving. Bring your new friend along. I bet the rest of the voodoo dolls in town, would love to meet him."

Caroline smiled, and gave off a gurgling sound, before she started to skitter across the forest floor. Rusty would follow troop, surprisingly fast for what he were build of, and the two of them would quickly get out of sight. Made Bloody nervous, but she knew where they were going. It would be fine... Right?

It would be about ten minutes, before the lot of them would arrive, though five minutes before that, they would be able to see the large, dark stone tower, with the glowing white runes, rising above all else in town. Now they could see it more in full though, they'd also see several other buildings, as well as the wall around town, and the large gate, covering the apparent only entrance. At least from this angle

As they'd approach the gate, they'd also see four skeletal horses, covered in specially fitted armor, and spears. Seemed like the bons might be held together with dark magic. Though even without that in mind, seeing armored skeletons walking around like this, with pale fires in their otherwise empty eye sockets, were certainly memorable.

As the group would get in distance though, they'd all stop, and look directly towards Scarecrow. Several more from inside town, would begin to wander out, and join in here, as they all as one, were looking directly at the dead, yet currently disguised stallion. Though before they would be able to do much, they'd split up, so they could each look directly at Scarecrow, and then the unthinkable happened.

All at the same time, they'd all kneel deeply before him. Much to the confusion of Coffin, and Bloody.

"Is... Is this normal?"

"No, that's... Definitely new."

@Catpone Cerberus

As the rest were speaking, Onache would rummage through the Coastal Guard's memories, trying to understand a bit more of the things she spoke of. As Onache were a desert dweller, she did not deal with water based creatures all that much, and jellies were among those, she only really heard about through memories like this. This were the first time she had heard of this particular one though, and she wanted to know the size, and effects.

Seeing it now, made it out as quite the ugly blob. But the effects were certainly notable. The mental image that the mare had in her memory, of her daughter wandering around, had her covered from head to hoof in gauze, with no hair present - including mane or tail - and only one exposed eye, and end of her muzzle, to allow her to eat. It were like gazing upon a less grizzly mummy. Those she had seen before, in person, so she had an easy time compare them in her mind.

They generally didn't move, but the desert were cruel for the unprepared. Weren't as rare as some might like, to find a dry husk laying out there. At times the ones who did get lost, were lucky and got found. Sometimes by her hive. She tended to send them to a nearby town then. Wasn't out of the goodness of her heart though. She used it as an excuse to send scouts into the settlements. Plus, she got nothing out of the near dead. It were more fruitful to have them live, and then come back full of emotions another time, that they could feed upon.

Let it never be said, that she were not forward thinking. In probably the cruelest, pragmatic way.

21 hours ago, Catpone Cerberus said:

"I thank you for this, and I acan assure you, that I will bring your words on to her. I'm sure it will please her.

I doubt she will ever leave Shark Bay, but if your tour ever comes there again, I feel certain she will be there. And hopefully, next time will not involve the jellies. Nasty things, yet vital to the ocean's ecosystem. She did the right thing in diverting it, rather than attacking.

You have seen the waters, at the shore, near Shark Bay? Clean as a whistle, and brimming with life. Much as we are there to push away foreign enemies, we must focus hard on keeping the reefs lively.

Have you two, ever been there, as your companions? You would be welcome, as they are."

She would look towards the siblings as she said this, wondering if perhaps their attitude, were due to them thinking, that they would not be appreciated there.

=============================================

@GingerLightning

Gloop would look at the two, while they had their little sibling moment, with a small smile on her face. She tended to be one of the more nervous ones of the hive, and thus, didn't get on stage, like most others. But seeing moments like this, with that familiar tone, of family to it, helped that some. It felt nice and familiar, as their hive - her family - were joking around with one another like that, all the time. Even Cheshire were on their level, as she were one of the queens who didn't much care for being the mighty queen, on top of her throne, with the peasantry wandering about. They were family, and family should be treated with kindness, and respect.

Cheshire would put a hoof in front of her mouth, to stop herself from laughing, when Ginger mentioned her brother's fiancée, called him love bug. It was just so perfect as a nickname between couples, yet oh so funny to imagine.

"I can work on something, y-yes. Might be... Maybe tomorrow? Might be a day more, b-but it sorta depends if I can make it work."

"Of course you can make it work, my talented little larva."

"I... Y-Yes, I think it should. Won't hold a lot, but I'll see what I can do."

Cheshire would hug her daughter with one leg, and her face pressed against the left side of Gloop's face.

"You can rely on her, don't worry one thing there.

I keep noticing you saying fiancée, not wife. So... When's the big day? Do you have a ring ready? Venue sorted?"

Bubble's comment made Light realize that they have a tour to finish and would apologize.

"oh I see. I did not mean to make your job more tedious. Yes we should finish the tour before else." He would give the kitsune a bow and bid their farewell.

" We shall meet again, but for now we need to finish the tour."

I could give you the recipe, and the ingredients aren’t difficult to find if you’re looking in the markets. To tell you the truth, I was a terrible cook back then. Give me something to heat over a fire, and I’ll do fine, but if you ask me to throw something together over a stove… you’ll wish to eat something else!”

Uddo let out a hearty laugh, though there was still some sense of pride in what he accomplished for himself, his son, and his guests for tonight. The black bean soup was pretty good all things considered, and even the longma siblings’ reactions were of approval. Not quite the kind of thing to expect with a spicy dish, but to them, this was much milder than what they tasted back at the carnival. Likewise, the older longma took this time to think about what Rosa just said about Sen, Lin, and Omen, brandishing a quiet but content smile at the thought. He had this whole private conversation lined up for the thestral, but maybe it wasn’t necessary... for now.

In the meantime, the longma brought a small bowl with some water and approached Shrimp. He may still be chomping down on some food, so he arrived cautiously to give the little creature a drink. Curious that he could be doing something with unexpected results, he placed the bowl a fair distance away before pushing it toward the refraction. It was an awkward display, but he’d rather not take any chances. After all, he’ll still need a pair of functional claws for his work.

“Here you go, little one. I admit, I don’t have experience with little creatures, and it’s strange to have one eating on the table.”

“Shrimp is well-behaved, and it’s great having him around. He may be young, but he’s already showing great potential.”

“I’ll take your word for it, Lin, because I really don’t know how to feel about this just yet.”

"We're asking what you'd like to be, if you had the choice."

"A pony."

"...I did not expect that, but the question were not with race, but with a job. What would you like to do, if you needed a job, like everyone else?"

"...I do not know. Master wanted me to deliver things. Maybe that?"

The general consensus of confusion and stunned silence among the longma at the table remained, though Sen and Lin were much more understanding and accommodating of the pause in their meal. It was an odd answer, by most standards, but Rosa coming in with his followup question saved the discussion from getting more awkward. By then, Kiba was able to get a better idea of where the conversation was going.

“Ah, a mail delivery pony like those from the local post office? That’s not a bad choice, and many towns around Equestria rely on the post office’s delivery services. Even for a town like Old Canterlot, you get to see a couple of mail ponies making deliveries every day.”

For the moment, the young longma stood up and moved around the table, picking up the salad prepared for the evening and gave some to everyone. There was an assortment of sliced fruits mixed with nuts, all tossed together over a simple olive oil dressing. It wasn’t exactly the prettiest thing on the table, but with the mushroom and spinach puffs just about done, they’d proceed to the other dishes. Even the soup was plentiful, and anyone could request for seconds.

“Miss Omen, I am curious about something. You mentioned having a master? I hope this doesn’t come off as prying, but could you tell me more about him? He sounds interesting, though it is odd that you use that word. Is your master like a work-related boss?”

@Blitz Boom

Charming fellow.  True to his word too, this was all in the spirit of getting a sneak peak with only the exchange of basic pleasantries.  The ease at which they were found were impressive enough, but it weren't hard to believe either that the time of portal opening was knowledge enough to the royals and others in power.  Much was to be spoken and further delights to enjoy, but those were to be savored at a later time.  Time was pressing and the Queen didn't sound like the pony one wanted to keep waiting.  "Of course, Necrotic.  We'll keep your advice to heart," the family bid their farewell, short as they'd be if the next destination was the throne room in question.  "Pleasant lad," the older stallion mused.

The visitors would now cast their attention to the duty tasked upon their escorts.  The crude outline of a door made with metal carving on stone.  A tapestry billowed out from Raven as his spell was weaved, the ever familiar structure of portal magic stitching together in the span of a mere breath.  Two points were connected, but not immediately opened.  A pulsating quintessence fluttered about in the center of the tapestry.  Slithering along one of the strands like a serpent, another small weave quickly revealed the short mystery.  Plowing into the quintessence, the lock was undone.  Not only was a hidden portal needed to take a direct route, it needed a little extra something.  Clever.

An open portal was now before the family.  No need to wait on permission.  "Direct route indeed," the younger mare admired.  Walking close by her brother was they passed through the portal.  A little extra flair for guests she supposed.  More flashy and experience enticing than just teleporting the family directly here to begin with.  Dawn was starting to the notice the lack of teleporting in Harrowmark at all.  Portals and rifts.  Not that teleporting was all that common in Equestria either, but curious how their societies went different directions in that regard.

Speaking of different directions, the contrast between this royal hall and that of Equestria's, was astounding.  Intimating, imposing, words that rang the most clear on first impression into this throne room.  The opposite of the bright and cheer one receives in the royal hall of The Two Sisters.  Made all the more hammering when taking in the occupant sitting upon the throne itself.  A mare of iron, of resolve.  As immutable as the ground they stood upon.  It was hard not to want and take a step back.  At least for Star and Grace.  The twins had a little more experience standing before power.  Rising's attention made its way to the mosaic of Harrowmark's two gods.  Beings that he was probably more familiar with, having met both a little closer than necessary, than more in this land far from Equestria.  Having had a conversation with the moth goddess and a less than pleasant run in with the avatar of the darker one.  Going through a quick run of the snap shot in his memory taken upon entering the portal, he couldn't help but notice the absence of one particular individual.  One Thistle was missing.

A mystery for later.  As each of the familiar members were introduced to the royal hall by Raven, they'd give their Equestrian bows before the monarch of Harrowmark.  "I am honored and thank you for the invitation, your Majesty," Rising returned the greeting.

Rosa were rather pleased that this is where the conversation had gone, and not on his admittance to having a drinking issue. The further details were sensitive to him, and he had likely ended up not answering properly, had there been dug further into it. It would not paint him in a good light, and might 3expose certain bad truths, in regards to him, and his former position.

He'd smile at the laughter, and continue to vary between the two dishes in front of him. He liked a good conversation, but one shouldn't let the food grow cold and stale either.

Shrimp would look up, as the water were presented to him. His mouth were covered in bits of mushroom, that he'd start to push back into his mouth, using his tongue, and small hands. It seemed he approved of the mushroom puff as well.

Shrimp would look curious at the bowl, as it were placed far from him, and then slowly pushed closer. This wasn't what he were used to. Was this some sort of game?

Assuming it might be, he'd slither closer, showing off how he wasn't really touching a surface as he did so, but hovering a little above it. As if he and the surface, were made of two magnets, pushing away from one another.

He'd take a longer route, assuming the bowl would get moved, and then eventually, pounce, and grab hold of the edge, with a little victory roar, before pushing his mouth into the water, and taking a few gulps. At this point, he would be touching the surfaces like normal, so it seemed to be an instinctual on and off switch, that could be used as needed, so to speak.

When his thirst were sated, he'd look up, chirping joyfully, before returning to his food. There were more to eat, though he wouldn't get through it all, before he'd have to rest again. There were too much for that.

"He's a curious little thing, but try and think of him as a dragon variety. Freshly hatched, they're somewhat feral, with their wants and needs for food, protection, and rest. In time, he'll grow up to be smarter, and what lessons he is taught from an early age, will help him moving forwards. That includes how to socialize, so things like this is important, for his future development. The less large, scaled, anti-social creatures around, the better, I'd think."

Rosa almost gritted his teeth, wondering what the follow up questions were going to be for this one. But he'd see, what sort of interest might come, into prying further into it, now that she had touched upon her origins.

As for Omen herself, she just looked straight at Kiba, as she answered, head tilted slightly to the right. And she'd continue to hold this position, as she awaited more questions.

@Rising Dusk

"The honor is ours. Many generations have passed, praying that they would live in an age, where they would see the tyrants downfall. Now, that age have finally come, yet at the hooves of a most unexpected being. Your presence marks not only the end of his tyranny, but the beginning of cooperation, to lands outside of our own. Both impressive, and important feats, befitting of one of higher stand. I beseech you, to stand where you are, Rising."

The queen would rise from her stone, and wander calmly down to Rising. Had he done as asked, she would then use her scepter, and poke him first on the right shoulder, than the left, and then finally, direct the skull towards his chest. A pale light would glow within it, and a small, wispy mark, resembling her crown, would begin to hover a few inches from his suit. Unless he stopped the necrotic energies, which would make her raise an eyebrow slightly, but not comment it.

After that, her husband would come rushing down towards them, and pull an elongated box from his back. Opening it, the queen would withdraw an old, magic-preserved blade. Nothing fancy looking, or evil in appearance either. It were but a long, ceremonial sword, adorned with marks of the country, etched into the blade and hilt.

She'd then calmly, touch both his shoulders again, now with the blade, and then put the edge above the mark, if he had not touched it. It would then absorb it, and glow slightly for a moment, as the spell were imprinted, with the name of the one it had been on. Had he tampered with it, she would skip this step for now, and place the blade back.

Before closing the box however, she would pull out a smaller one, from the red velvet covered inside of the box, and open it, to present a medal. A pale moth, in front of a dark humanoid, embracing her wing hands and tentacles alike. The symbol of their gods, on chains of pure silver, which would be placed around his neck, had he no objections. It did not have bad magic, just a minor protection ward, against curses which seemed smart to have as standard in this place. He could remove it if he so wished.

"I know not what position you hold, within your own lands, but henceforth, you shall carry the rank of Dusk Knight, without ours.

Be at ease, Sir Rising Dusk."

The entire room of knights, and the advisor, would salute Rising, as trumpets blared through the room, from the ones at the furtest back. It seemed they carried the oversized, long trumpets with flags upon them, that Equestrians might also see, in relations to anything to do with royals. Though it might be a thing of the past, with them.

"Very good. Yes. Very, very good. It is an honor to have one attain this rank once more, Sir Dusk.

Forgive me for not introducing myself earlier, but there are protocols to follow. I'm sure you understand, yes? I am Prince Hayworth. Husband to Queen Magenta the Second. And might I say, what an outmost pleasure it is, to meet you, and your family."

The prince would first offer to shake Rising's hoof, which he would do with both of his, shaking twice, before moving on. He'd do the same for his father, though for his mother and sister, he would instead give them beep bows, as he thought were more appropriate.

"I hope you're finding the castle agreeable so far? I'm terribly sorry we have not prepared the full celebration yet, but I can assure you, that it will be done, within a few hours at worst. There is just a... Ah, minor issue with loyalists to handle first. A few stragglers. Nothing to be concerned about, I assure you."

========================================================================

@-Solstice-

"Very well, then let us proceed."

It were indeed a short walk. Three houses over in fact, though they were not going inside the house.. Instead, they'd go to the back yard, and find two ponies. One being a yellow mare, wearing a cloak of animal bones and leather, reaching down to near her ankles, even with the tail underneath pushing it up. The other being a filly, around eight, brushing the hair of a typical, regular doll, whilst humming slightly to herself. The filly did not seem to have a cutie mark yet, and the mare's were obscured.

"Ghastly? Might we have a moment?"

They'd both turn around, and look at them. The filly would raise a hoof, and wave, with a big smile on her face, whilst the mare would smile, and move closer to them.

"Of course. What can I do for you, Alluria?"

"I present to you, my descendant. She have shown interest in settling here in town, after seeing what we have to offer, and thus, I would like for her to meet the third of her judges, in such regards."

"Ah, of course. It's a pleasure to meet you miss.

Wraith? Honey? Would you come over here please? This nice mare wants to speak with you."

"Okay mommy."

The filly would walk closer, and the mare would take a small step back, to allow her some room to speak in. By all accounts, this filly looked completely, and utterly normal. Nothing death related, nor scary being around her. Just a filly, happy as could be.

"Hi. I'm Wraith. Who're you?

@Skitty Skittles

Aaah, what a day it had been, the day prior.

Honey would pour himself some tea, and look over to the corner, once more just making sure he still had all the cameras there. Cheap, one time use things, but the foals had been thrilled either way. A generous donation, along with the trip, from various members of their community. Including himself, though he didn't tell them that. It wasn't important, over just making the young ones, feel like there were other who cared about them, here in Ponyville. Things like this, really helped that.

He still needed to go and get them developed though. That were his next step today, before going to the market to sell some more honey. Though he had saved the best jars of it, for the orphanage. As he always did. Might not be a lot of foals left there now, but that didn't mean those still remaining, needed any less love and affection. The same with every foal, until the day they'd be adopted. Which had thankfully, gotten a lot more common, since the princess began her peace making efforts. They even had some non-ponies adopt a foal. An odd thing, but he wouldn't argue, against loving parents, and he were sure the head mistress had made sure to vet them properly. She were very dedicated to the job.

Finishing his tea, he'd let out a sigh, polish his glasses, and then get up. It were time to get on with his day. Thankfully the flowers had been watered nicely yesterday, so he didn't feel they needed much more attention now. At least not until later, during the evening.

Honey had been harvested too, the wagon made ready... Yes, he had nothing else to do right now, of more importance. He better get on his way then.

So he'd take the clear, see through back, of one time use cameras, and get on his way, down the streets of Ponyville. He'd nod to a few who greeted him, and smiled as one of them, were one of the previous orphans, now adopted by a kind young couple, that had moved into town about a year ago. It were always good to see him doing well.

His goal, were the bookstore, which had a dual purpose as the place in town, to develop these. It'd still take some time of course, but it were okay. Long as he got them there, and made sure to tell them, to keep the pictures in separate envelopes, marked like the cameras were, he'd have done his part, for now.

*sigh* He wondered what else today might bring... Hopefully not another monster attack. Every time it happened, he kept fearing they'd end up with more orphans.

@Kujamih

The kitsune would raise a paw each as a goodbye sign, which Shark would imitate, best she could. Though it would look more like she were pointing at them,. or something behind them. Small steps.

Bubbles would lead them onwards, but Shark would begin to move ahead of him, whilst sniffing the air. She'd lead them down a bustling hallway, and eventually, they should both get what it were, that she were smelling: Spices, and warm food, of many kinds, wafting through the air.

"I think she have smelled the cafeteria. I suppose we can go there next anyway."

It were a large room for sure. Rows upon rowards of tables, and a long counter, with various food being prepared, and put into the warm iron tubes, meant for it, before having lids put on them. Had to keep the food nice and warm, until the students would come around and look at it. ANd the lids were see through, with a minor spellwork, to ensure they did not fog over, so they could well see what were within. And boy howdy, were there a lot of things.

Hay, burgers, strawdogs, fruits and greens, some changeling emotional jelly, steamed cauliflower, etc. etc. There were even some spiced fish meat, though that was kept well and truly separate from the rest, over near some gems, floating in a semi-see-through, orange tinted sauce of some sort, in the corner. As this place were mostly filled with herbivores, they needed to do this, for health and safety, as well as to not cause disturbance, with the animal lovers. As well as possible anyway.

"And this here's the cafeteria. Open all school day, from seven in the morning, to five in the afternoon. Have to make sure to keep everypony fed after all. A hungry stomach, doesn't learn all that well."

Shark didn't respond, but just kept sniffing in various directions. So many strange, enticing smells here. She wondered what it all tasted like.

It just so happened that on that same day, and along that same road, a mare by the name of Skittles would be walking a few dogs, all who appeared to be very well behaved, that is, until they saw Honey and begun to bark and run excitedly, pulling the poor young mare behind them.

The mare would soon call to the dogs, seeming to instantly calm them down just before they bowl Honey over. She would pant softly before catching her breath and smiling at the stallion "I truly am sorry, they're usually very well behaved, but when they see a new pony they haven't seen before, they get all excited" she'd explain to him. She then smiles a little "I'm Aurora, but most call me Skittles, and my close friends call me Skitty"

He would also try to imitate the kitsune's farewell, to show good will and respect.

But same as shark, it is hard to imitate what a paw can do.

As they stroll along the hallway both smelled the food in the air. Shark would instinctively try to hunt the smell though.

This would give Light a curious look on her.

" I guess she's hungry. Shall we eat then?" He asked both of them.

He'd also try to grab Sharks attention as much as he can, so he could easily follow Sharks movements as to not disturb or make a scene in the cafeteria.

It was an undeniably cute display that even Kiba would be distracted from her conversation with Omen. Just let her know that we’ve met, though I could also tell her about all of you and how we met. It’ll make the first meeting go smoother. Who knows? Maybe we both might come by if you’re looking to have more furniture delivered to your home.”

“Speaking of the food, there’s still more black bean soup here. Anybody want some more?”

“I’ll have seconds!”

“Save some for me as well, uncle!”

The older longma stood up and picked up the large pot, though that immediately got the Shade to also join him in bringing said pot to the table. The latter picked up each empty bowl and pass them along to Uddo, who filled them up to the brim. Seems like this one’s a successful dish, and its creaminess was more evident with the time given for the soup to settle. Even Shade was delighted with this batch, bringing in his bowl for last and having some more. The longma left some behind, enough for Rosa and Omen should they want more, and he’d be ready to empty it out for his guests.

Kiba wasn’t exactly sure what to make of Omen’s answer, though he could gather that the use of “master” wasn’t entirely work-related. Now mention of her Mother confounded him some more, possibly only creating even more questions with fewer answers. And those came before even touching upon matters related to parentage, if that was even applicable. All the longma knew for certain was that he’s even more confused than before.

“So, your master… adopted you from your Mother because of an agreement? What do you and your Mother get out of that? And who is your master?”

That last question had the longma siblings squirming in their seats, perhaps unsure about what they’d hear if Omen were to answer truthfully. Sen and Lin sat there, uneasy, thinking of ways to possibly change the topic or give an opening that will let Omen deflect the question. And they had to act fast in case what Omen might say could potentially cause issues. They didn’t know how much Kiba knew, or could possibly extrapolate, but they were worried about what Uddo knew and might have told his son. Unfortunately, they weren’t the only ones who were picking up on something… off.

“Sen? Lin? You two don’t look well. Is there something you want to say?

“Um… I-it’s just… This talk about Omen’s master, it’s-“

“It’s complicated and difficult to talk about. Is it all right if we can drop this?”

Uddo and Kiba weren’t exactly sure what made this a difficult topic, but the longma siblings speaking for Omen didn’t sit quite right with the older longma. Kiba didn’t know what to make of it, but he he did state earlier that what he was about to ask might come off as prying into something sensitive. The younger longma was content to remain silent and hold himself from asking any further, but Uddo wasn’t as convinced. For now, he’d hold his tongue, and the conversation could proceed elsewhere, something the siblings hoped would happen, especially when there is still a fair amount of food on the table. Still, his suspicions grew by the moment, and he may try to find out more in a more opportune time.

Howl started making a small chittering sound like a distressed grub, but tried to keep his composure. "I do not have anything planned out yet... I've been busy with work, and when I'm off work, My Fiancée keeps me busy for quite a while."

He blushed a little. "aside from that, there's also the general home matenance, projects for work, and of course answering lots of questions about my family... I molted twice from the stress of trying to plan it."

"Molted? Like how wing feathers molt?"Ginger was pretty confused.

"Not quite, it's more like those cicada shells you'd collect for your bug collection.  The carapace just splits on the back and in this case the changeling crawls out of their old shell. It Leaves us very vulnerable as the shell underneath is still soft and squishy and our wings are about as strong as wet paper. The carapace hardens and the wings dry over time. If you were a full blooded changeling you'd likely molt as you age and other reasons like stress or your carapace healing after an injury. Think of it kinda like a crab." Howl explained best he could.

"So changlings can regrow their legs?" Ginger tilted her head.

"No. I've never seen a changeling grow back a leg. I'm not even sure if that's possible. I've seen torn wings recover, but never a severed limb...maybe the crab comparison was a bit too far off... So, more like the cicada comparison."Howl said before looking to Cheshire to maybe help explain things.

Ruby had also gotten surprisingly into things, and like her words had implied, it wasn't totally awful, in fact, to her own surprise, losing did actually sting a little, which in this context was a good thing, since it meant it was entertaining enough for her to get into it to such extend that she felt competitive about it. Though what came to Leviathan's compliment, she dismissed it, even if she knew it was genuine, it didn't feel so enough to feed her ego.

Ruby spoke to Charir, though this time she whispered to him so that nobody from around them would question the language she was speaking, Charir wasn't fully comfortable letting her that close, but knowing the whole disguise situation, he didn't stop her, because he figured she wouldn't do anything to break her cover. After a short, quiet conversation, Charir joined Leviathan on the machine.

He positioned himself in a way that he could see everything he needed to and nodded to imply he was ready. He started with slightly stiff demeanor, not too different from how Ruby had been, but he quickly got into it, clearly having fun. In the end, he beat Ruby's result, he didn't crush her, but the difference was big enough to make it unquestionable even with it being a different song, who knows what the result would have been if Ruby had been in her real form, younger dragons did tend to be faster both in body and the mind, so it wouldn't have necessarily changed anything.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Scarecrow didn't respond to the filly's observation, but nodded in acknowledgement of her comment, he didn't see a reason to say anything because Lyriel moved the conversation forward and he didn't really have anything to add due to not knowing his own origin, he could have pointed out that he probably was never raised in the literal meaning of the word since as far as he can figure out from what he does remember, he never went down in the first place, so to speak.

He looked at the tower as they got closer to the town, and in general just looked around a lot, just in case he could recognize something, he was doubtful this was where he came from, but one could never know right? especially when they knew their memory couldn't be trusted. When the skeletons came to view, he was curious to say the least, though his focus soon got redirected as they started to stare at him, he didn't remember having felt so....watched before, and was that a shiver he just felt in his spine?

To say he was confused and surprised when the skeletons suddenly knelt to him, was an understatement, and this time it actually showed, because while his expression didn't change, it still not being automatic, his mouth opened in surprise "Yeah, this is certainly new." "I...um, what am I supposed to do now?"  even if he wouldn't have been utterly confused, he wouldn't have known what to say or do, he hadn't exactly prepared mentally for something like this to happen.

-------------------------------------------------

Chega and Sear nodded at the question regarding the water, there wasn't really a spot for either of them to comment anything, so they didn't for now, though the only thing they would have had to say would have been Chega assuring that they would visit the place again at some point, since their route in Equestria was always the same.

Trox was the one to respond to the question, as from the two he was the one that could hide his true feelings better, and even back home he was the one that talked to guards before the two kobolds became wanted dead or alive. "We have never seen the ocean, or clear water." "Only rivers and tiny lakes filled with water dark as night." "And before you ask, we are not from around here." the way he said it wasn't rude per say, but it wasn't friendly either, he kinda just stated the facts without any real emotion.

@Skitty Skittles

Honey jumped a little, as he heard the dogs, as he wasn't expecting a dog walker to be around here, and had kinda been in his own thoughts planning the day out in his head. Soon as that first half second of shock wore off though, and se had a look at what were happening, he'd relax, and give a small smile. Just a bunch of dogs, lead by a walker. Nothing to be concerned about.

"Its ah... It's okay. Dogs tend to get curious, since I always smell of flowers and honey, to some degree.

I'm ah... Yes, I'm Honey Dew. Sorry, a little in my own mind today."

He'd give a smile to the mare, and push his glasses up his nose again, before feeling if the cameras were still safe and secure on his back, with the top closed. Seemed like they still were, so that were good. It wouldn't be good if they started to spill out. Dogs... He liked dogs, but they did have a tendency of finding many things to be potential chew toys, and whilst he didn't know if that would include these, he couldn't risk it. They were too important.

"So... Skittles, yes? I ah, don't think I've seen, or heard about you before. Did you move to town recently? We uhm... Yes, we have had a lot of those, these last few months. Princess, and Discord, and... Well, everything, I guess. Our town is getting to be quite the famous spot, I suppose.

Maybe I just missed you though. I ah... Use a lot of time in my garden, or elsewhere. Things sometimes gets missed."

He could try and speak for a bit here, right? No rush with the cameras. They could wait like, ten minutes, or something, certainly. Long as they stayed in the bag.

He would also try to imitate the kitsune's farewell, to show good will and respect.

But same as shark, it is hard to imitate what a paw can do.

It wouldn't be that hard really. They had just risen a paw, like ponies would do, when they were about to wave. Not any sort of traditional greeting. Shark were just still learning about these sorts of things, and since that hadn't been a hoof, she assumed she were supposed to hold her leg differently. She'd learn, one day... Probably.

On 2022-06-15 at 1:19 PM, Kujamih said:

" I guess she's hungry. Shall we eat then?" He asked both of them.

He'd also try to grab Sharks attention as much as he can, so he could easily follow Sharks movements as to not disturb or make a scene in the cafeteria.

"I suppose it couldn't hurt to stop here, and have you familiarize yourself with this place for a bit. Just don't cause a ruckus, please."

Bubble would watch, as Light attempted to get the attention of Shark. Which currently, weren't doing a lot, as she were sniffing the air, and going for one thing in particular: The meat corner. She were actively licking her lips as she got closer, and caught the attention of one of the servers, who'd get closer, just about when Shark's nose impacted the glass, and she took a confused step backwards. The glass were rather clean, and non-reflective, so she hadn't spotted that it were there.

"And that makes three this week. Anyway, hello there. I'm Chopsticks, and I'll help you get something to eat today. You probably should start from the other end though. This is crystals, and meat."

"Fishy."

Shark would smile widely, as she saw the fish pieces, giving a good look of her sharp teeth, which seemed to confuse the cafeteria mare.

"It's better to just roll with it."

"Uh... 'Kay then. So, what would you folks like to eat?"

"Fishy."

She'd rub the side of her head against the glass, as her nostrils flared. These fishies smelled good. She wanted some.

"...And you?"

She looked at Light, hoping that he'd give a more sensible answer. If he said he wanted to eat crystals, she were putting down her apron, and taking a break. There were limits to the madness.

@-Solstice-

The filly looked up with big, innocent eyes, as Magnolia kept on talking. And when she were done, she'd give off a big, friendly grin.

"You look pretty, Magnolia."

She'd go closer, and hug Magnolia. She seemed like a nice mare. And if she were the sister of the princess, that meant she had to be a nice pony too, just like the princess were said to be. It'd surely be okay to do this.

"I told you earlier, that those outside of the family, or bonds of marriage, had to go through tests, to see if they'd fit well. You heard Stitch were tradition, whereas Geist is tolerance, and judgement. The last spot, circles through some of the youngest, which for the time being, are Wraith. They represent understanding.

There are several who cannot fathom, how it is that the fillies in this family, is taught to harness their powers so early, and are raised around death as prominently. They think it harms them, and is a monstrous thing to do. When the time comes for your test, Wraith here will be the one to show you why that is, and specifically, why it is important to do so."

"I'm gonna be strong, and make grandma proud."

The filly giggled, and beamed up towards Magnolia. Were it not for the name and surroundings, it were hard to say if there were any difference between her, and any other foal her age. She seemed utterly happy, without a fear in the world.

"Your coat is really soft, Magnolia. Is it a princess thing? Are you gonna be a princess too?"

Wraith's mother looked on, but seemed relaxed. She assumed that since Alluria were here, this mare were safe to have around her filly. The deceased Sparkle had a long history here after all, and she too, had known her since she were a little filly. It gave some degree of trust, to the specter. Though she were still a mother, and as such, would keep an eye out. Just in case.

Uddo paused for a moment to see what Shrimp would do with the bowl of water. It appeared they were both cautious of what the other was going to do, but seeing how the little creature reacted with the bowl in close proximity got him to relax. It was an undeniably cute display that even Kiba would be distracted from her conversation with Omen. After a few seconds of having their attention caught by the refraction the hosts of the house would resume to what they were doing before.

“He’s a very young creature, but he’s learning; that’s good to see. I’m sure you know already, but if he looks up to you as his caretakers, then please take good care of him.”

"I can assure you that they will. The only problem thus far, might be that he will end up being spoiled rotten, but discipline can wait some, until he grows old enough to understand more of it. Certain things, like hoarding tendencies, that needs to be addressed early, far as we've been informed.

For the time being, him socializing is a fine first focus though. When first I met them, he were hissing, and biting out after practically anyone. There have been a market improvement since then, in most situations."

Granted, there were the stallion he had blasted with his glitter breath, but in fairness, he had deserved it. There had been obvious clues, that Shrimp were none too pleased, with being addressed by the stallion like he had, and well... If you weren't willing to listen, you had to feel, as the saying went. It were utterly harmless anyway, so not a big issue, he'd argue. Might cause some... Unwanted reactions however, but Omen could quite literally, just take them off into another world. It were hard to get much safer than that.

“Thanks for the vote of confidence. Maybe one of these days, I could introduce you to my partner. Or maybe you might run into her while she’s tending the store instead of me.

"Once I am prepared to make my order, perhaps I shall be so lucky, as to run into her. One can only hope.

As for the soup, I thank you kindly, but I believe that have been enough spice for this evening for me. I think I shall try some of the other options, and have a varied palate. Omen? What about you?"

"Soup please."

While Rosa would begin to finish his piece of the mushroom puffs, and then think about what to later attempt, Omen would wait for her soup to be poured up, and then put her face down into the bowl again.

However, Shrimp would get curious this time, and slither over. He'd pull himself up, to get his long neck and head, over the edge of her bowl, and have a sniff of the soup. Seemed weird, but Omen drank it, so that meant it were good then, yes?

He'd try to stick his face down, and drink a bit of the soup. It did not seem to fall in his favor though, as he'd pull back out, and slither back to his water bowl, to try and get the spicy taste, flushed out of his mouth. It were a bit too much for his taste. He preferred sweet, floral, or earthy. As well as gems, of course. Spicy might be for later on in his life, but not now. And after washing the worst out of there, he'd go back to chomping on fruit, to get a better taste in his mouth.

“So, your master… adopted you from your Mother because of an agreement? What do you and your Mother get out of that? And who is your master?”

"I am not supposed to say, who my master is."

Rosa internally grimaced as Omen looked away from her bowl, and said this. Saying such a thing, just made it even more suspicious, to a point where a regular being, would have to be almost foolish, to not understand that something were amiss. Hopefully it wouldn't get worse than this, and he would somehow be able to salvage this.

On 2022-06-16 at 4:47 PM, EQ_Theta said:

“Sen? Lin? You two don’t look well. Is there something you want to say?

“Um… I-it’s just… This talk about Omen’s master, it’s-“

“It’s complicated and difficult to talk about. Is it all right if we can drop this?”

Dear ancestors, must they make things harder It were getting more and more problematic to explain what were the situation here, without exposing some dark truths, that might cause some kind of reactions, here at the table. He needed to think fast. What could he say, to make this smooth out...

That thought, lasted until Omen just straight up, opened a small hole to her home world. About the size of a regular bathroom mirror, swirling in the air, next to her. And through it, they'd all be able to see the dark world, that she had come from. The endless, shifting grounds, lighted only vaguely, by a pale light, above the shapes of grey and dark.

"Home."

Then came over, about four shifting shapes, curious as to what were happening, through this hole. Nothing of the dark shapes, of black and grey, were consistent though, except for the eyes. Pale like Omen's, and Hammonds, gazing curiously out upon them. Especially on Shade though. The siblings - much like Hammond and Omen - thought he was a sibling, but didn't understand how he could be out there, without a shape.

"Siblings. Unformed, until they get a master. Our masters use their magic, to make us whole. Then we serve them."

"For the love of everything, Omen, I beg of you: Close that."

She would, whilst Rosa at this point, had his face into the table. It had slumped down there, whilst he more or less felt the entire atmosphere just drain out of the room, truthfully or not.

He'd let out a long, drawn out sigh, and slowly rise his head. Then, with a deep breath, he'd try his best to if not salvage this, then at least explain.

"Omen is from another realm, wherein they're essentially masses of eyes and shadow. Mother is their leader, and if anyone with magic comes around, they flock to them, because they want to have shapes, so they can leave their own world, and explore other ones. If an agreement is made, the soon to be master, will pour some magic into them, giving the sibling in question shape, as well as tethering them to two worlds: Their own, and that of their master. The master then, is supposed to teach and nurture the Ki'nathar, as they call themselves, who then in turn, serve them in whatever fashion they can. And then at some point, they will end up living their own lives, like any regular being from that world.

They're utterly harmless, as they're taught to be pacifists, and it is not an invasive species. They're also all, seemingly telepathic. We just didn't want to talk about this, since it can cause friction, but it changes nothing. She still befriended Sen, lin, and others, in the correct way, and are doing what she can, to be a good, helpful friend to them. That she is not a pony, shouldn't detract from that.

With the proverbial cat out of the bag though... *sigh* Ask away, if you have questions. At this point, understanding will cause less issues, than trying to have her conceal her true origins."

Sometimes, he hated his life... This might end up being one of those times, if Uddo and Kiba, did not take this whole thing well. And this was not even including who Omen's master were, whom he really hoped, none of them would divulge. It wouldn't help things at this point, he'd think.

@GingerLightning

"Molting is a big thing for queen changelings especially, once we hit our growth spurts. You wouldn't believe how many empty shells I had around, when I really started to gain some mass. And the pain... Not from molting. That stuff's actually pretty much relief. It's the feeling of pushing against your outers shell, waiting for the right time for it to crack... Urgh, can't recommend it. Though that's growth. Regular molting from excessive damage, or overdue stress, isn't as bad. If it happens a lot though, that's not good. Replacing your carapace too often, can cause serious health hazards.

And don't think too hard, on the whole molting thing. It's not as weird as you think, once you've seen it a few times. It'd be a lot worse, if us changelings weren't essentially made out of magic, in a shell. We could end up like spiders, and taking hours with it, instead of more or less peeling like an onion. If you know what you're doing, cracking open can be done in minutes, and you can settle down in a nice goo bath, while you harden up properly. Unless you wanna see how much you can preserve your old hide. I swear, I've met some, right? They make a whole game, out of leaving their old hide, as pristine as possible. Knew one who could even present me, with one, where you could only see the cracks up the neck, and back of the head. It were pretty impressive."

Not a lot thought of this part of changeling life, but it were a thing, like preening were for pegasi. And boy howdy.,... Had it been one interesting thing to show off others. Maybe she should tell them that, actually?

"Fun fact: We've actually done a live molting, in front of a classroom of ponies. Part of our efforts to educate them, about our kind, we were given permission to do so, under guarded supervision. It was Peptalk who volunteered for it. Made him all kinds of nervous, but he says he doesn't have any regrets, and the students sure got educated. A few did think it really gross though, but that's nature for you.

Also, your brother is right, Ginger. Molting can't regrow lost limbs. We tend to use prosthetics, just like ponies do, if that happens. Really debilitating for some, but those unlucky sorts who goes through it, do the best they can. Wings are fair game, but that because they're part of usual molting too, and not something set like a pegasus wing.

Buuuut we're not going off topic too much here. You say you're too busy, to plan the wedding? Now, where's the fun in that? You could well have time for it, if you only asked for a little help."

Cheshire would vanish from sight, and suddenly be over next to him, leaning down, to whisper in his ear. She hadn't teleported, just used camouflage, and jumped over quickly. Long legs for the win.

"Do you need some help?"

She'd giggle, and keep walking, until she would stand over near Ginger. At this point, her dog had found a way to open one of the cabinet doors, and were halfway into it, sniffing at some pots and pans. Seemed like he weren't causing issues for now, so that were good.

@Catpone Cerberus

Not only did Charir beat Ruby, but he managed to equal Leviathan, as they ended up with the same amount of points. She almost had him, but had been so excited, that she had started to bash her tail down a few times, causing some miss clicks. Big whoops, but she didn't mind. Going equal, winning, losing- In the end, that didn't matter with something as trivial as a game. What mattered there, was that they had fun, and she for one, at least had a blast with this.

This was so much better than how she usually did this, which were to challenge randoms, and hope they accepted, or just play it alone. Which weren't as fun, as this especially, were sort of a competitive game.

"Haha, well done, Charir. Well done."

She'd lean over, and give the little rascal a sideways hug, with a big grin, plastered on her scaly face.

"If I didn't know better, I'd think you had done this before. You really kept up with the groove.

We should let some other folks get to now, but this here was fun. Really got the blood pumping."

She got that for them, a good hunt likely did that better, but for her at least, a good game did it better. And she certainly thought this were a good game. Board games and the like, bored her to tears. But active games? Much, much better. The more it required mobility, the better.

She'd direct them off of the board, to allow the next pair to come in, who were all flared up, and ready to compete, after seeing the two dragons have their fun.

"Say, what do you two think about getting a snack after that? Or would you rather we try and find something more? At least lemme get something for you to drink. I really wanna see if he'd like soda."

She'd seen him go at varied tasted for now, but not sweet, and she were kinda curious how he'd like that. As well as fizzy drinks.

@Catpone Cerberus

"Uhm... W-What do we do?"

"Hey, what's this all about?"

It seemed they had caught the attention, of someone within town. A little... Odd looking one, perhaps though. A voodoo doll, the size and shape, of a regular equine mare, would walk out towards them. She had separate upper and lower mouth pieces, so she could talk, smile, etc. like normal, and the two different colored button eyes, had a pale glow going over them, which still obviously seemed to focus on a few things. That being the skeletons, then the guests, and then especially, Scarecrow, as the doll could see, that he were at the center of it.

The odd one seemed to also have a rather puffy, yarn-based tail and mane, in red. Her voice too, were not regular, as it had the sound of a female mare, but with a slight echo to it.

"Oh, oh, Stitch Wraith! I dunno what happened. I was showing them here, and then the guards got all weird."

"Yeah, I can see that. Come on you lot, up again. You're embarrassing yourselves."

They did not seem to accept her order, and would remain as they were, towards Scarecrow.

"Well ain't that the darndest..."

"Earth Mother's blessing be upon you, friend. Might I offer a suggestion, which might enlighten us, on this most curious reception?"

"Woah, a dryad? I haven't seen one of you sorts in centuries. Sure, sure, what sort you got in mind?"

Lyriel were slightly taken aback, knowing that this one apparently, had some years to her, as well as having known other dryads. That might be blessed knowledge for her, yet first, she would need to speak her mind here. Which would be to Scarecrow.

"My friend, I beseech thee: Try to give them an order. It may do nothing, but it is worth an attempt, yes?"

If Scarecrow asked it to, or were giving off something in their bond, that would indicate that Scarecrow, wanted to no longer be hidden, Crow would lift off too, and reveal him. Though if not, it would remain, confused as the rest, of what this might mean.

"I see. I would recommend you one day then, to go visit Shark Bay. No need to be alarmed, at the amount of sharks, that give it its name. We of the Coastal Guard, care for them, and ensure they do not harm anypony. THough even out of water, there is much to view. If ever you come around, you can ask the others for me, and I will see if I can't find the time, to give you a tour.

Ah, I forgot to mention that, I suppose. My name is Sergeant Harpoon.

But I won't take more of your time. I thank you again, Miss Chega, for the signature. It will mean a lot to my daughter. May the tides ever rise in your favor."

Harpoon would bow before Chega, and then be on her way. She had that feeling of being a third wheel, washing over her, and figured it were time to move along. A feeling which were in part helped by Onache, as she figured it were time for the mare to be on her way, before things began to go messy.

"An open invitation, it seems... Interesting. Might be something to keep in mind, for sometime in the future. I am somewhat curious, what an ocean might look like.

It seems you have some degree of Equestria-wide fame, Chega. Does it cover only Equestria, or have you an overseas presence as well?

I am asking out of minor curiosity. And to give them a chance to calm once more. There's a fair amount of... Less than constructive emotions, washing over them currently. It would seem wiser to have them breathe, and adjust naturally."

A little clinically perhaps, but in fairness, she were used to just adjusting it herself. Having to not go in and mess with their heads, were making things peculiar, and soi, she had to try and look on objectively, how to deal with things here. This were currently, one of her ideas, though it may not pan out.

Skittles would nod and listen to Honey Dew as she kept the dogs in line, "Oh yes, I've only been here a month now" she would say "I recently graduated from Princess Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns" she'd explain "I'd been staying with my friend until I got my own place." she pets one of the dogs "And yes, I've heard about how Ponyville had been a bit of a hotspot for..the famous and for monsters..and I was hoping it'd be a nice peaceful place" she laughs.

In a weird way Light knows that if he gave a weird answer to chopsticks, her day would be too much for her.

" .... You know what I'll just have a regular salad." light would smile at her.

And yet he was a bit worried about himself. He'd also notice that he seems to be.... Not hungry.

But still would force himself to eat it.

"Soup please."

The older longma was glad to know his cooking fared well this evening, seeing as his niece and nephew were enjoying it. The same could be said for Omen, but that could be chalked up to her odd and unorthodox tastes. Still, seeing as she wanted more soup, how could the longma say no to that? He walked up and poured some more soup and made sure to add a little more on top. Of course, her unexpected method of feeding could use some work, but it might not be his place to tell her that. Then there was Shrimp trying it for himself. Suffice to say, it wasn’t for him, but the display was rather cute. Even Kiba smiled as he watched.

That said, the conversation brewing about with Kiba and Omen, with Sen and Lin adding more to it, left the hosts feeling rather unsure. The tone and atmosphere shifted from calm and welcoming to tense, and both Uddo and Kiba were listening intently at what was unfolding. Then came the gates and the oddities behind the entrance, and Sen and Lin preparing to get Omen to seal up that entry point. Seemed like even Shade was taken aback by this display, and that says much about an umbra that spent far more time as an amorphous shadow.

Rosa giving the long and short of what they just saw… that was much more difficult to swallow. Other worlds, formless creatures, masters and agreements… all that and more, but the older longma needed some time to process all of this, and perhaps needed to do so away from the dinner table. What came next had the levity sapped from his voice.

“What you said was clear, Rosa, but I believe caution is required for this matter. Kiba? Shade? Can you come with me for a moment? We’ll be back with our questions.”

The younger longma and the umbra followed Uddo out of the dining room and headed downstairs to the workshop. In the meantime, Sen, Lin, Rosa, and Omen were alone at the table, and the siblings knew they messed up badly. They couldn’t see themselves looking to either the thestral or the Ki’Nathar, burying their faces down at the table before seemingly getting over it. Unfortunately, they would dwell on their mistake longer, as Sen got up and paced back and forth.

“Rosa? Omen? I’m sorry. We didn’t mean to put you both on the spot, but Lin and I messed up. If this thing goes badly, let us take the blame for it. Be angry with us if it’ll help, not with Omen.”

“And Rosa? We understand if you want to… put some distance between yourself and us. After what just happened, I think it’s fair if that happens. Gives us time to think about what we did wrong and how that isn’t going to help you.”

The siblings were apologetic, even angry with themselves. If anything, they let their friends down, and they could have ruined what was a budding friendship with the older longma and the thestral. Likewise, it wasn't too difficult to imagine Kiba having more dour and negative thoughts of themselves and of Omen after what he saw and heard. If things don’t go well after tonight, they’ll try to smooth things over with Uddo and Kiba, but they’d rather do it in private. Knowing how things just went down, they learned a thing or two about discretion, but that might have come at a significant cost.

"Yeah I'm show him around town," Plum Blossom added. "I don't get why ponies would be so scared of bat ponies. I think they are pretty friendly, unless if you try to mess with them."

"No I don't think you bite, Well let's see, living on the farm means lots of chores such as feeding the animals, picking the fruit off of the trees, tending the crops and such, but my older sister always manages to make it fun. It's also fun being able to make so many different foods with the stuff that we grow on the farm," Plum Blossom and Apple Bloom said simultaneously. They both looked at each other when they realized what happened and laughed.

@Skitty Skittles

Honey's eyes lit up with an impressed gaze, as he heard about what school it were that she had attended. Not just attended, but graduated from too. Most impressive.

"That ah... I hear good things about that school. It's good to hear you graduated. An impressive feat, from what I heard.

Anyway, I guess... Yes. Welcome to Ponyville then. It's ah... Got a reputation, yes, but not for the quiet. More the trouble that's lured in. But its normally not so bad. And we haven't had casualties yet, just... Ah, buildings. And the park that one time. The princesses guard talked about making some underground shelters for the next time. It seemed... Smart, yes. We try and keep the one at the orphanage open when it is but the space. Not enough for everypony, sadly.

Speaking of, I... No, it can wait a bit more. No rush.

So uhm, you walk dogs, I see. Are they yours? Or do you help others walking theirs? If ah, t is okay to ask, of course. I don't mean to take up all your time."

Honey weren't fidgety, and kept a warm smile on his face, rather than looking away, or blushing up. It were just that he had grown up, getting used to think carefully about what he said. It had gotten better, but he still sounded uncertain about things at times, as he didn't want to say something out of line, that might be troubling, or cause offense.

@Kujamih

The cafeteria mare looked like she were about to let out a sigh, as she got his order. Thankfully something normal. She were used to some weirdness, considering the school, but today had been a bit special, even before they showed up, and she had her limits.

"And nothing for me. I'm just showing them around."

"Right then, coming right up."

"Saaaa-laaaad. Salad. Salad is pony food? Can I try pony food too?"

"I'll put some on the tray."

Shark fluttered int he air with joy. She'd get to try what ponies ate now. And good fishy too. Best food place, she knew of.

Chopsticks would get to work on preparing a tray with two bowls of salad - one big, one small - and a bowl with some fish pieces. They'd be asked if they wanted dressing, which Shark didn't know what were, so she'd pick whatever Light would. There were water at the tables, so they could get some there, though it nearly went wrong, when Shark got the tray, and were about to eat away,, at the counter. She got to opening her mouth, before Bubble interrupted, and said they should eat at the table, which halted her.

When they got to the table though, she'd get her small bowl of salad, and her fishies, then smell them both. She wanted to try pony food, but... Yummy fishies. Them first. So she stuffed her face into the bowl, and took some pieces out to joyfully chew down. She seemed to be a big fan of the spices, and them being steamed. Even made her tail waggle rather notably.

"Good fishy."

"Seems she is pleased. How're your salad, Light?"

@-Solstice-

The filly didn't get much of the title speak, that Magnolia were on about. She just enjoyed the feeling of the mare's soft coat.

"There is much to learn, and experience. I have the outmost confidence, that you will keep an open mind, and be welcomed. Yet as you say, your friend should arrive first. Perhaps it is time for us, to wander back to the library for now, and wait for her coming?"

"Awh, you're going already?"

"She shall be back, Wraith. Worry not of that."

"Yey! See you later, Magnolia. have fun times, and say hello to the princess from me and mommy."

Her mother looked on, smiling, whilst shaking her head slightly. The innocence of youth... She would never get tired of it, nor forget these little moments, as Wraith would grow older, and pass that stage of her life.

If she would agree that they should retreat to the library and wait, Alluria would lead Magnolia back, and go through some books with her in there, while they waited. If not, they could stay, or wander elsewhere for a time. Regardless, Soul and Zeehva, would be there, thirty minutes later. The only thing happening before that, that were out of the ordinary (from the town's perspective) were that Puppet and Vivid, would be escorted to the tower, towards where Madamme Macabre resided.

As for the state of Soul and Zeehva... The former looked his self, though Zeehva looked like she were majorly distressed, and caught deep in thought. She barely bit notice, in how many looked her way, as she approached. Soul would ensure she were lead on, without being disturbed though.

@EQ_Theta

Rosa had sat with eyes closed, as the three hosts, had left the table, to discuss things in private. Going over ways that this might go, contingency plans, for if it came to that, and going over what were likely their most common questions, and what answers would suffice there. This situation had drastically went for the worse, but it were salvageable. If they threaded carefully, and the three of them, had an open mind, when it came to what they had just learned.

However, as he heard what Sen and Lin said, he'd open his eyes, and look at them, dead serious. There were a certain hardness in his eyes, for a brief moment, like a teacher, about to lecture his unruly students, but it would fade quickly. Replaced by a softer, thoughtful look, after his initial reaction over hearing something like that.

"I wouldn't dream of it. Besides, this is partially my fault to begin with.

I were fully aware of how honest, that Omen tends to be, and would require instructions, in case there were things or subjects, we should not speak of. I only asked her, that she did not mention her masters name, and not what other subjects were perhaps better saved, for a later interaction. I should have foreseen this, and yet, I did not.

I put no fault at Omen, for she is only as she have ever been. Nor do I blame you two. You're poor liars, but I still should've taken these things into consideration, before we arrived here. I am supposed to be one, with a certain degree of foresight, and I failed.

*sigh* We cannot change what they have seen, nor heard. Best we can now do, is to be open in our answers, about what questions that may come.

That said, Omen? Please do not open more gates in here, unless you're asked. I think it best if we tell them answers, rather than show them."

Omen would look up, soup still dripping from her muzzle, and nodded slowly. She understood, though she didn't reply yet. Seemed like he had more big words.

"With that sorted, I would like to state something, for the record.

However this goes, I am not going to be angry, not put distance between us. You stood with me, in dark times, and I will do the same for you. Even if we are kicked out, and things seems dark, remember that we are all here, and all alive. It might take time, but we can begin a dialogue again. We can smooth things over with them, and in time, we can come to see eye to eye, once more. Do not lose hope.

Besides, they did not throw us out instantly. That is a start. For the time being, it appears they are simply preparing what questions they might have, and consider what to do from there. Let us try and remain optimistic."

Things might go wrong, but as he said, they were not tossed out yet. He would consider that a good start, on what were still a shaky foundation. The things as they'd go, once Uddo and the others would return however, would determine how things would go. Until then, they could but speculate.

@Skylight Scintillate

"My daddy says it's because ponies dunno what to do, with something new. And that Nightmare Moon, had some means ones to help her. He says that's why it's important that we are nice, and show them we're good ponies too."

Jelly grinned, when she heard the two talk in tandem. It was real fun when that sort just randomly happened. Or when there were twins, who spoke like that in general. It was quite cool. She didn't know how they thought so closely to one another, to be able to do so, but had to be a reason for it.

"Hehe, you're speaking like twins. You must be really close for that. Does that mean you help on the farm sometimes, Plum? I can help sometimes too. I like to help.

What kinda things do you do most of the time? And what kind of animals do you have? The apple tres are the thing you use most time on, right? I heard that about Apple ponies. Daddy says you're really proud of your apples, and that you have good reason to be that. Is it true Apple apples are better than any other apples? Do you grow other fruits too?"

She'd look up at Applejack as she said this, thinking that she were probably the one who ran things around here, so she could answer the best. She'd also look towards Applebloom and Plum though, as to not show a preference when it came to who'd get her attention. Also, they might all be able to answer any of the questions. She had fired off a fair amount, after all. As well as a compliment, about what she heard, with their apples being the best. She wanted to get on their good side.

Skittles would smile and nod "It was certainly tough, not a lot of ponies actually manage to graduate from there, but I had a good mentor" she'd say with a smile, listening to him "I did her that this is where Princess Twilight Sparkle calls her home, I am hoping to see her, though I am sure that she is very busy, being a princess and all" she'd say with a soft giggle.

She'd then pet the dogs that she was walking, shaking her head "Well, dog walking is only one of my jobs, I spend most of my time either at Fluttershy's cottage helping her out, or at the veterinary clinic, helping out there" She gets out some treats, giving them to the doggos for being well behaved. "So what do you do for a job? or for fun?"

Rising wasn't one to disobey such a simple request, the bowing stallion returning to a standing state as instructed.  His family weren't given as equal a request and thus remained in their bowed states while the ceremony began in Harrowmark's royal halls.  An unexpected being wasn't the title was he was, well expecting, to be given so early on.  Although, he doubted many in this land thought their salvation was to come from outside their borders.  Nor how rapid diplomacy was underway after such an event.  Equestria sure jumped on that opportunity rather quickly, or likely just right time, right place for the Princess of Friendship to strut her stuff in foreign relations.

A trinity of pokes were delivered upon him.  Luckily his recovery made such actions hardly a discomfort, if not odd.  Rising was caution however, his sixth sense wary and quickly analyzing of magics that unfolded from the scepter.  Intent and purpose the upmost priority to discern.  Something their customs might mark as normal could easily be disagreeable to a pony of Equestria.  Not that he wanted to offend by any means, but his soul he'd like right where it was, unaltered.  The wispy mark was harmless in nature it appeared.  Grafting of information, nothing stolen or binding.

Next came the sword.  Something Rising was more familiar with.  While not common anymore, but even Equestria had such tools of ceremony.  A tap on the shoulder, then moved over to tap the other.  Equestria didn't have the third step of now grafting the wisp to the sword and his name now upon it.  Pretty neat.  Nothing of the spell matrix gave the detective worry.  Not that he couldn't tamper with it later should future events be evident to the contrary.  Best to observe the custom for now.  If she were hoping to witness Rising's tampering abilities, she might be disappointed for a time longer.

Lastly, the medal.  An elegant fusing of the polar gods with a charming protection ward placed upon it.  Rising would bow his head slightly to aid in the Queens placement of it around his neck.  Dusk Knight?  An actual position or did he just luck into a title matching of his name.  Amusing.  "Detective, Your Majesty," Rising informed the Queen.  "I will carry this title of Harrowmark with pride, Your Majesty," Rising bowed once more before the Queen before taking the position of at ease, as requested.  With the cry of trumpets, the family finally joined in.  Stamping their hoofs on the floor for applause.

With the ceremony over, so they thought, his family joined him in embraces of pride and joy.  "Ho ho ho!  Knighted!  Magnificent my boy!  Watching history unfold," the gruff jovial stallion clapped his son on the back.  Not on was this a historic moment, but also things Equestrians often only read about in history books anymore.  "Sir Rising Dusk, oh how the mares will swoon," Dawn teased, fluttering her eyelashes at him mockingly.  "Now now darling.  Let him enjoy his moment.  We're so proud of you dear," Grace planted a motherly kiss on his cheek.

The Queen's consort got their attention.  "A pleasure, your Highness," Rising greeted, taking the other's hoof and shaking it.  "Ho ho ho.  Well met Prince Hayworth!" the older stallion took his turn next, but the Prince wasn't escaping at only two shakes.  More a dozen overly enthusiastic shakes.  The ladies of the family, much more proper returned his bow with their own elegant ones.  "A marvelous place, truly marvelous!  An air of mystery and history fills these halls, waiting to be discovered and admired!  I met a most agreeable scholar in your luminous library.  Fantastic fellow he is!" the father of the family sort of answered for the rest.

"This isn't the celebration?" Rising inquired.  Dawn smirked.

" It's quite alright. I like it." He casually said.

He seems a bit uncomfortable as he it's his salad, but tries his best to avoid anyone seeing it. It bugs him that he isn't feeling hunger or the urge of eating at all... He must be just feeling unwell or just full to begin with.

*sigh* We cannot change what they have seen, nor heard. Best we can now do, is to be open in our answers, about what questions that may come.

“I guess it hasn’t sunk in yet, but even if Uddo isn’t directly related to us, our father still saw him as a friend, and lying to him didn’t seem right. Hiding information about who Omen is sounded better because if he knew, he might start trying to find out more. If he knew too much… we’re scared to find out just how he’d react, but I guess that doesn’t matter now.”

“We’re terrible liars, and just as terrible keeping secrets this big, but we’ll do better. The most we could do is try to contain the damage and help Uddo and Kiba understand. We don’t blame you for what could’ve been; all there is to do now is smooth things over and hope for the best.”

Sen and Lin still didn’t feel quite sure of themselves or their abilities, but they have some of the metaphorical weight of their chests lifted. There was still some concern over just what they’d be asked, and they’d do their best, but being careful was still a priority. Rosa was right. They weren’t thrown out, so the situation hasn’t completely deteriorated. There was still a chance for dialogue, and the most surprising thing that could possibly happen now would be something out of the ordinary. They just don’t know what that could be.

About a minute or two would pass, but only silence filled the tense air. The siblings ran every possible scenario they could think of, at least every one that they could imagine, and figured how to best respond to that. At best, they’d have a long chat at the dinner table with their uncle and be patient with him. Alternatively, they could be thrown out, and the group will have to iron out their estranged relationship with someone who could’ve been a friend. It was just difficult to see how things could worsen from that point onward.

Eventually, the sound of a door creaking would break that tense silence, and Uddo returned to the dining room alone. He didn’t glance at the group, only pulling a chair and sitting down before looking at Sen, Lin, Rosa, and Omen in the eyes. They didn’t waver from everyone present, perhaps sizing them and seeing just how they’re reacting to his behavior. That jovial demeanor from earlier was gone, and he was back to his younger self: a stern teacher who didn’t accept anything less than what he expects.

“What did you all hope to achieve by trying to hide that information?”

“We… we were afraid of how you’d react if you found out. We are just looking out for our friend, and we didn’t know if you would accept her, or us, if you knew the truth about Omen, her family, and how she came to be. Omen is a very good friend, and since we met, we've been linked to her and the Ki'nathar.”

“...In more ways the one. Omen speaking telepathically, if that is what it’s truly called, isn’t so strange, and being able to talk to her makes it easier to accept. It’s what Rosa told you earlier that was much harder to say because we don’t know if you would believe or dismiss us, especially if what you learned will only make you push us away.”

“Mister Rosa, Miss Omen? Do you speak for Sen and Lin, and do you have anything more to say about this?”

The hug took Charir bit off guard, but he didn't react negatively, as he could tell Leviathan was on positive mood, he also could guess what it was for, because Ruby's crash course on numbers earlier gave him enough understanding to know he did well when compared to Leviathan and Ruby, and he had learned at this point that Leviathan, and seemingly many others here, were weirdly enthusiastic about big numbers on games. He again liked the praise, even if he had no idea what exactly the praise was.

Ruby whispered something to Charir, which again seemed to surprise and slightly confuse him, something that Ruby either didn't notice or just ignored. They both followed Leviathan without hesitation.

"We can go get something, I doubt he'll like soda, but it doesn't hurt to try." the taste he probably wouldn't care for, since there probably wasn't blood-soda or something like that, but the carbonation had a specific taste that was similar enough for there to be a possibility, though this was only Ruby's guess based on her own taste.

"I didn't think I'd get any enjoyment out of any of these pointless games, but I must admit, that dancing thing got me into it a little, maybe if it lasted longer I could actually stay entertained." she didn't want to say it was fun because fun was a strong word, fighting was fun, and she wasn't sure if she could quite compare fighting to a dancing game.

--------------------------

Scarecrow glanced at the newcomer when she spoke, and while he found her weird, it didn't take much room in his mind because he was so weirded out by his current situation, he had seen lot of weird creatures during his existence, but not once had any of them treated him like royalty like these skeletons were.

He didn't tell or signal crow to get off, but he did signal to it that it could take off if it wanted, that there was no need for disguise, but that he would be fine either way.

He thought for a moment what to say, he didn't want to say anything that could go bad "Um..." he made a throat clearing sound "Go and continue what you were doing before my arrival." he even changed his tone to more commanding one to see if it would help.

--------------------------------------

"You as well, it was nice to meet you, Sergeant." Chega responded to Harpoon and waved as she left, all the way a positive interaction she thought, and she felt slightly bad for Sheska for being unable to interact with such nice guards due to her past.

The siblings didn't comment even with Onache talking about them almost like they weren't there, because well, she was right.

"Fame is probably bit of an overstatement, it's more that I have small groups of fans here and there. Be it regulars at certain tavern, young creatures hearing one of my songs, or lone travelers sharing a campfire with us, my name doesn't really go outside those circles." that was probably weird way to word it, but what she mainly meant was that those who met her tended to remember her in positive light, but her name didn't really spread around to those who hadn't met her beyond cases like this where a family member or a close friend may hear a mention.

"But yes, some know me overseas too, but it's to lesser extend because we travel there lot less often." "I don't do this for fame, I just want to tell stories and entertain, though I do enjoy it when someone likes me enough that something as simple as my name on something makes their day brighter."

"The princess? Well she ah... Are not as busy, as you might think. She mostly is just in the castle, reading. Or dealing with friendship issues. Sometimes at the school, yes. That as well.

If you want a good chance of meeting her, you should just go to the castle. The public library is in there. I heard if you stay there enough, you're bound to ah, run into her, as it were.

You could also hang around the places her friends are. Rarity's boutique, the Apple farm, Fluttershy's hut, and the bakery, are all... Yes, good places to wait. They meet up a lot."

The trick were not to seem like a crazy stalker, but this mare didn't seem like it. From what Honey could tell at least, she were just a regular, gifted pony, who'd like to meet the princess. And as a graduate herself, they'd have something to talk about. Seemed perfectly fine, yes?

He seemed a little surprised, as he were then asked what it were that he did. Though he supposed, it made sense, when he thought of it. She were new, and had apparently not seen him. It were a fair question then, yes. He should answer it, before things became awkward.

"Oh, I am ah... A bee keeper, yes. I have a flower field, at the outskirts of town, and tend to my bees there. And the flowers, yes. Long as I keep the bees happy, they don't mind me taking some honey. I sell that at the market, mostly. I take some with to the orphanage. I ah, volunteer there, in most of my off time.

The fame of Ponyville, have helped to get much of the foals adopted, so that's good, but ah, there's still a half dozen left, and they shouldn't feel left behind, and unwanted. I ah, remember what that was like myself. It's... Not good, no.

I don't really do anything else, I guess? Most activities I do, is with the foals. Tours and such, yes. That's why I have the cameras. A generous donation, they were happy with. They're ah,. gonna be happy, to see their pictures, I hope. Just have to have them sorted.

And uhm... Yes, you. What do you do for fun and other work then, Skittles? If ah, it's okay that I ask?"

"Oh no no no. Gods no. 'Tis is a minor ceremony, to bestow upon you a proper rank. The celebration shall be far grander in scale, and will last for days, I assure you. Not that you will need be here for it all. I'm sure you're very, very busy at home as well. The first hours though, will be of importance. And then the sculptors will need to see you too, among others. Much to do, much to do."

"Husband."

Hayworth would cough, and give off a small, embarrassed grin.

"Ah yes, yes, of course dear. My apologies. Rambling along as I am, I forgot: There is word from the high priestess. She would like to meet you, before the ceremony. Worry not though, the arrangements will happen in the background, whilst you wander. You needn't think of a thing, Sir Dusk.

She did mention that if you had company, she wished to see them too. In particular, the ah... Former apprentice."

Whilst she had kept silent for a long time, Lily would step forth now,. and face Prince Hayworth, and the queen. Neither seemed overly pleased to see her, with the prince straining in his smile, and the queen... Well, her demeanor remained unchanged, as her eyes bore upon the witch.

"I wondered how long it might be. Might I ask your judgement, your majesty?"

"Death."

A silence went through the hall, as the queen bluntly stated this, and Lily's heart rate increased. Yet another voice would soon come, laughing behind them. The guards would part away like salmon, showing the laughter to come from none other, than the crown prince himself. And now they could see him in full, they'd be able to see that his wings were well preened, and that he wore wing blades, made of enchanted silver. A full suit, without cloth to cover his legs were there too, in as close as Harrowmark currently came, to good fabric, in the same colors as his mother's dress and cloak. His tail were also well groomed, with small pieces of what to the layman, would seem as simple silver jewelry tied into the hairs, near the base. Yet to Rising, he'd likely easily notice the various sorts of protection spells cast upon them, with a signature matching that of the queen. Seemed she were not too keen, on risking her other sons life.

"Well met again, my honored friends. Please, do not worry of mother's words. 'Tis but a jest, as rare as they are."

"You have met them already?"

"Apologies mother. I simply could not contain myself. So I waited near the portal room, to meet them, however briefly."

"Very well.

Yet my judgement is no joke, witch. It will be final, if you do not cooperate. You shall atone for your involvement, by returning what were stolen. Then give us what knowledge is needed, to unravel his mess, as well as all the history he kept away from us. Then you shall serve as custodian of what is not safe, supervised by one assigned, by the high priestess herself. Do I make myself clear?"

Her tone were very clear, as well as brimming with authority. This were not a gentle ruler, like Celestia, but one more fitted for this darker land. Though she were not without reason, and mercy. She would let the witch live, yet she were required to do as told, for that mercy to be upheld. And frankly, to many, it would be too kind of a ruling. Lily were not without fault here. She had been the apprentice of Twisted for decades, and had partaken in his atrocities. Perhaps under force, yet it did not change, that she had innocent blood on her hooves.

"I accept your merciful ruling, your majesty. Your will be done."

"Good then."

Necrotic would near the throne, and bow his head respectfully for his mother, as she ran a hoof across his mane. A surprisingly gentle action perhaps, from one who still had a face of iron on, yet her eyes betrayed her for a moment. Worry and pride, sneaking through the veil for a brief second... And then it were gone, hidden beneath the layers once more. Now were not the time, to fawn over her son. There were still much to be done. Thus were the burden of the crown, and one day, he too would come to learn that.

"Mother, I would like to direct them to where the high priestess are waiting. I assure you, that we will be okay, on our own."

The queen sat silently for a little, whilst her husband seemed to glance increasingly nervously, between her, and Necrotic. Until she gave a slight nod, and Hayworth could let out a sigh of relief.

"Very well. The knights shall remain here, while we finish preparations. I shall send Fawkes for you, when we are ready."

"Thank you kindly, mother. I shall make sure our guests are taken well care of."

He'd turn to them, smiling widely at them, and gesturing towards the big door, leading out of the throne room.

"Soon as you are ready, my honored friends. You need only say the word, and our path shall continue."

He looked between them, then at the door a few times, as to signal he suspected they might wish to leave, after the ah... Reception, they had gotten now. It left the air a little tense one might think, and perhaps they'd wish to leave now. Unless they had words to give the queen. Though they should remember to still be respectful. Honored guests or not, patience had a limit, for every being, and Rising's deeds, could not be a shield from everything. They wouldn't be ordered dead, of course. Banished from the throne room, and potentially the celebration however... A different matter entirely.

@Kujamih

Bubble did not seemed convinced. He wasn't sure why, but something felt a little off. Not that Shark noticed. Not at first, anyway, as she were mowing through her food. All of it, including the pony food. A little weird tasting, but it tasted okay, so she'd chomp through that, then lick the dressing off of her face, before going back to the remaining fish. One piece she got hold of, being a little big, and thus, she reduced it as she were used to. By taking half in her mouth, and then shaking her head violently from side to side, until a combination of the force, and her sharp teeth, loosened half of it. That part would then fly over, and hit Light on the forehead. unless he had been aware, of course. He could likely avoid the curried fish then, if he tried.

If he did not though, she'd look up, chomp down the piece she had, and then come over to lick the fish and curry off of his forehead. A sight that gave them a few confused, yet mostly amused glances, from here and there. If he did avoid it though, she would eventually still - with some fish in her mouth, look up, and wonder why he were so silent.

"Mate sad? is very... Siiii-leeeeent. Silent. Light is silent. Is okay? Need attention?"

She'd happily scoot over, and press herself in close next to him then, face against face, beaming with positivity. And smelling like curried fish, but that were a minor, probably unimportant detail, unless they ran into Fluttershy. That'd be a meeting worth writing home about.

"Mmmmm. Best mate. No sad."

"I will see you again, Wraith. In my eyes, you are what I have lost in my life - I hope you never lose your youth, cherish these memories while they last." she spoke, both referencing the filly and the mom.

Alluria would respond to this, when they were some distance away, not wishing to trouble the mother and daughter more, for the time being.

"This innocence, is not something one can easily regain, but the wonder and freedom from worry? I will do my outmost, to help you regain those, and find peace in yourself. Life is not over, and while there is still a long path ahead of you, I feel certain, the very core of my spirit, that you will find a welcoming home here, which will give you acceptance, in as equal amounts, as you will offer them.

It may seem an odd place, but it would be a good place for you to live. I hope this sentiment will be shared, by your friend, when she eventually arrives."

Magnolia would follow her way to the library, where she was absolutely delighted to see Zeehva there. Her ears perked up and one could swear her eyes sparkled a bit. "Thank you for bringing my friend here, Soul." she began to speak as she walked forward, putting a hoof on Zeehva's shoulder. "I am sorry for how abrupt this all was, there is a lot you'll have to come to understand here. I don't know how it's possible, but my ancestor is here, with us." she gestured towards Alluria.

"I've found family here in a place I least expected it. Perhaps you can find something here as well...?" she smiled innocently, looking into her eyes, in a surprisingly bashful manner for such a jaded and quiet mare that Magnolia is most of the time.

Zeehva had a jolt go through her, as Magnolia put a hoof on her shoulder, and would take a step back. She seemed... Scared, for a moment? It would pass, yet she'd still looked harrowed, and full of concern. Something seemed to weigh heavily upon her mind.

"S-Sorry, I'm... T-There's a lot. I don't..."

"She learned something, just before I found her. Give her time. You'll understand then."

"T-Thank you."

Soul did not respond to this, though his eye went around the room, looking at the various ponies here. He even actively glared, at anyone, whose eyes landed at a point above Zeehva's head, causing them to one by one, scurry off.

"Quite the clingy soul, I see. No wonder she need the family's help. Hmm... Though I am surprised at you, Magnolia. When you spoke of your friend, it were in glowing terms, and I see there may be a good mare, beneath the worry. Yet you did not tell me, that said mare were also pre-"

"Silence!"

Soul would raise his voice, and stomp his hoof, as he interrupted Alluria. The two of them, meeting glare to glare, in a moment of awkward silence.

"Speak with the husband. Let her speak for herself."

"...Very well."

Alluria were not certain exactly what were happening, but perhaps, she would, if she spoke with the husband. So for a time, she would vanish from sight, and engage him in talk. Spirit to spirit. Something told her, that he had much of importance to say.

"Hmph. Anyway, here's your friend, in one piece, as promised. I were also asked by Dread, to give her best wishes to you."

In the silence before they returned, Rosa had sat silently. Contemplating what he were supposed to say, or do, as the other longma would eventually return. As well as Shade, of course. Though he were non-verbal, and as such, not the primary concern, albeit a thought should be spared for him, just in case.

Two sounds would still ring through the silent room. That being Omen's low sounds, as she drank the soup in her bowl, and the confused chirps of Shrimp, not sure what were happening, but understanding that something were wrong. He could feel the tension in the room well, and would slither over to Lin, and look up at her, whilst giving worried, low chirps. The look in his eyes, were showing the same worry, one could hear on his voice. Had something bad happened? Were there trouble? He did not know, but he tried to understand, and make things better. He did not like this kind of tension.

He'd likely have slithered up Lin's face, and done his to try and embrace her snout, to try and help her mood, when the longma would return. At which point, Uddo would act as a teacher, and address Sen and Lin. It gave Rosa a few seconds to judge the mood, and what Uddo might be thinking in this situation, though soon enough the questions came for him, and Omen. The latter of whom wouldn't say anything yet, as she assumed all this talking stuff, were best to listen to, not partake in. Plus, she wasn't sure what to say, as she weren't allowed to mention her masters name, after all.

"Before I answer, I would like to thank you for giving us the chance, to respond, and explain things, Mister Uddo.

As for answers, I would also like to clear one thing, first and foremost: It were not any of them, who asked silence of Omen. It was my decision. I made her promise to keep certain things to herself, and yes, had I thought of how things might have gone, I would likely have asked her to hold back several more things. As she never breaks a promise, I know that if she makes it, she would keep it to herself, despite her honesty.

Yet there were good reasons for this, and I wish to make my case.

The first reason being, that much as Equestria prides itself of inclusiveness, and understanding, I think we both know that is more PR, than initial reality. When Equestrians first meet someone unusual to them, they met them with caution, and fear. I have witnessed that happen to Omen several times as is, and she passes for a pony, at first glance. During my inquiries into how longma are, I also got the distinct feeling that a general consensus when meeting new creatures, would be fear. Or at least substantial degrees of caution. As longma in Equestria, I am not certain where your views are, yet as Omen have revealed things to others, I have seen highly mixed responses.

While I did not ask her to withhold the name of her master, due to you specifically, I did not ask her to make an exception either. That being because, I did not want things to go as they went.

In hindsight, perhaps not the best decision, for this particular evening. Yet from your reactions before, I saw much of what I were concerned about could happen. Because try as they might, not many are ready to accept what Omen is, or how she is. I had hoped we could ease into those things, so you over time would learn more, and thus, would be eased into things. I miscalculated, and for what it is worth, I apologize, for making assumptions."

He'd bow his head towards Uddo, attempting to show he did feel remorse for this, yet he could not wallow in such things. His neck would straighten soon after, and then, continue. There were more still to say.

"The second reason I would bring up, is what I did see however. You recall this not being our first visit, yes? I can imagine you still remember Hammond? The little mimic with three eyes, who attempted to - pardon my phrasing here - shove Shade into his mouth?

Who you saw, were a sibling of hers. One given form, by another master. That is how they begin their journey into new worlds. No different, from any toddler, yet with more motor function.

What I saw, were confusion, and caution, until he left. And he were but newly formed. Omen is in a whole other league, and thus, I worry, what happens when others learn of her true self. Even if none can likely hurt her, and she understands not, the concept of pain, and what insults are slung at her, she is yet my friend. I do not wish for her to be shunned, more than needed.

Also, a third reason, is that I wanted to avoid a situation, where the conversation would go as it is now: With a focus on her. Sen and Lin, think of you as family. As one who have, a tenuous relation with family, to put it mildly, I understand the crucial want to connect, and get on good hoofing, with what little there is left. Hence, I had hoped to avoid distractions, taking away from what is supposed to be, bonding between you, and Sen and Lin.

If you wish to put blame, and be angry, I will understand. But put it not on them. Put it on me, for trying, and apparently failing, to keep things focused, on what I believed this evening should be about. And if that does not please you, you shall merely say the word, and I will leave peacefully, without causing trouble. If possible then, I attempt to earn some semblance of trust, at another date, when you feel so inclined, to hear me out once more, Mr. Uddo."

A silence would come after that, in which Omen would raise her face from the now empty bowl, and look at Uddo, with her face tilted to the side.

"I have been in your world, for a long time, I think? I remember being new here. It were different. But the looks are the same.

I still do not understand it. Feelings are strange. That is why I want to be a pony. Maybe then, I would understand them? Make them stay?"

At her core, Omen sought acceptance, and understanding, of what this strange world of order, were like. Being what she were, had not helped her much, in understanding that. So yes, she had long thought that perhaps if she were a real pony, she would come to find those things. She'd be accepted, if she were one of them, and would finally begin to understand, and live. Nothing of which would be true, probably, but she were a simple being. In her mind, it made sense.

Leviathan didn't mention things before, as she assumed that the confusion, were because Charir still weren't used to hearing praise, and nice words coming his way. Well, he were gonna need to, cause she weren't gonna stop sending some positive vibes his way. Especially not, when he did well, and she were caught in the moment. Her heritage really showed in those situations, with her impulsive, cheery attitude. Which honestly, she also figured were something that were good for him. The more positive reinforcement in his life, the better. It'd help him grow if not physically, then mentally, and spiritually. No good, ever came from only giving one negative feedback, and show them the world were harsh, and contained no one, who'd care for you. Not in her mind anyway, no matter how much that might have worked, where Ruby and he, came from.

"There's long songs in there too, so maybe we can try that at some point? But most of these sorts of machines in this place, is designed to run mostly in a short timespan. It's to allow folks to go through, and let there be more, that can come up, and try, in a given period of time. This here's a tourist town, after all. Plenty of folks to appease.

Plus, it's to maximize profits. Sort of a balance act, but they're doing it pretty good here, all things considered. It's still a business after all. But hey, the fact so many comes through, means they aren't charging too much. They get enough out of the sheer volume of folks coming in here, to still do real good. Wouldn't be the case, if they got greedy, and folks then started to run off to their competitors instead. Plenty that'd jump on that, in a heartbeat, given the chance.

Heh. Anyway, I'll go grab some things. Be right back."

She'd slinker off, and go towards the snack bar. She hadn't asked about their tastes, but... Eh, she'd try some varied stuff, and let that speak for itself. Pretty sure she saw they had a variety pack, or something like it.

It'd be around four minutes, before she'd return, with a tray in hand. Upon it, were six different cans of soda (Cola, orange, blood orange, red berries, chili, and honey), and a large box, of all kinds of small bags and containers, with snacks. Chocolate, gummies, crisps, the works. Including some extra spicy crisps, that she figured might be fun to offer. There were two of those.

There were also some hard candies, caramel, etc. there. Plenty for them to try, and give the tastes a good attempt.

"That was kinda fun. They're trying out a new chili cola. Apparently, spicy snacks are getting popular. What a thing, eh? Think you can find us a table, so we can chow down? It'd probably be easier. We could also go outside. Really, I ain't fuzzed either way. Just not gonna waddle around with a tray all day. Makes me feel like a server."

@Catpone Cerberus

The skeletons all rose up, and went their varied ways. Some standing guard as they had. Others going back to town. Regardless of destination, it seemed they were obeying his orders, all the same. And it would be at about that same point, that Crow would lift off, and land on a nearby stump. And after a slight delay, Scarecrow would be revealed, in his true form. A sight which would cause an audible gasp to go through the ones, who hadn't seen this before. Yet before much else were uttered, Stitch would wander towards them, and grab hold of both sides of his face, and look deeply into his sockets, with her pale, glowing button eyes.

"Woah dude. No wonder they're listening to you."

"Wait, are you saying you know what he is?"

"Huh? Yeah sure, he's undead."

"Ah, I meant more specifically. My friend are sadly, unaware of the finer details."

"Seriously? That's just shoddy work. And sadly, I don't have an answer.

See, I know a risen, when I see one, but the exact sort you are? I have no idea. All I do know for sure, is why the others listen to you. You're sort of on their page, but you're just radiating with pretty concentrated death magic, and... Something else. I can't put a hoof on what that is though Maybe that's the part that just makes them obey? I dunno, it's still kinda weird. They have free will. This shouldn't be happening.

Heck, if I didn't know better, I'd have thought you had something to do with it. This outgrowth, seems almost natural in design."

She'd let go of Scarecrow, yet her eyes remained on him.

"Say, how about you come with me, friend? Bring your friend too, if you want. I'd like to know more about you, and what sorta thing's going on with your whole... Everything.

Don't be worried either. You're not gonna get attacked or anything. The undead, in all shapes and sizes, are welcome in our town."

So no answers yet, but at least, it did not seem like he were being discriminated against here. Nor did any run off. They were seemingly just... Confused, at what they were seeing.

======================================================================

@Catpone Cerberus

"Peculiar. I was under the impression that most musicians, were in it for fame, and/or wealth. Doing something like this, for the sheer enjoyment, seems... Quaint."

Still, enjoyment or not, she would gain something from this, surely... Yes, be it a few donations here or there, of shelter at a fire, there were benefits, one could get, by being a travelling bard. Surely that were the case, and she did in fact, have a yearning to be well known, and harvest the fruits of her labor.

Onache were used to things that took much effort, and time, to be done to gain something of importance. The fact one might do this, for enjoyment, seemed utterly alien to her. Surely there had to be an endgame here. Perhaps if she had just a little look... Urgh, but they'd know by now, what signs to look for, when she used her magic to go for a thorough look, and there were no others she could says he were scouring. It would cause her issue, right here and now, and frankly, she did not need the hassle. Especially not, for something so utterly inconsequential.

"Pray tell though: If you were famous, would you not be able to tell stories, and entertain, far more beings? Furthermore, you'd surely be welcomed in many places then, and would be able to learn plenty of new stories, which might be of interest? Is there not much good in fame, for one with your preferences?"

She'd try to get to this, by questioning it, and see where it went. Though something were nagging her. No, not this. Something else. A feeling, as if she were being watched, yet she couldn't tell from what direction, and did not pick up on any loose thoughts. Gods how annoying. Maybe if she did not look this eye catching, she could avoid that, yet sadly, it seemed she were doomed to attract attention now. Stubborn, consistent attention, from one being in particular, to be specific... Hmm...
