I just Googled generation 3½ ponies and…………… ¡OH MY ECLIPSE (that's an OC)! That God-awful abomination should never have existed. Everypony, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from Gen3.5 ponies………… unless you wanna be mortally disturbed.

Yes, I know it will kill your eyes, but here's some logic to you; no G3.5, no G4. Same thing goes for the prior generations.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. Simple as that. No need to blame the previous generations as it will result in a greater consequence if they did not exist...
