There's always the big question when a character finally makes it into the series: Who would make the perfect voice for this character?  In the idea of Grogar(Based off his Generation 1 character), there will always be one who will take on the role of the antagonist.   The question is: Who will be the voice of Grogar?  Who would fit the role well?

Here are some recommendations

1) Brian Drummond: Known to the Pony fandom as many characters like Mr. Cake, Ahuizotl, Filthy Rich, Uncle Orange and Seabreeze.  Outside the FiM fandom, he plays the following

Jetstorm on Beast Machines

Spike the Dragon on My Little Pony G3

Vegeta on Dragon Ball Z(Ocean Productions dub)

Blurr on Transformers Armada

Shockblast on Transformers Energon

Jetfire and Jolt on Transformers Cybertron.

2) Michael Dobson: We all know him as Dr Cabelleron and Bulk Biceps on the series.  But outside of Friendship is Magic, we also know him for these roles

Nappa on Dragon Ball Z(Ocean Dub)

Batman, Alfred and the Joker on Batman: Black and White

Mojo Jojo on Powerpuff Girls Z

Starscream on Transformers Armada/Energon/Cybertron

3) Scott McNeil: In the FiM fandom, we know him as Flam of the FlimFlam brothers, Chief Thunderhooves, Rover and Black Stone.  But outside the fandom, he's even more famous

Piccolo on Dragon Ball Z(Ocean Dub.  Recently, he reprised his role of Piccolo on one of the DBZ: Kai dubs)

Rattrap, Dinobot/Dinobot II, SIlverbolt and Waspinator on Beast Wars

Baby Foghorn on Baby Looney Tunes

Van Hohenheim on Fullmetal Alchemist

Dr Wily, Protoman and Eddie on Mega Man: The Animated Series

Principal Kuno on Ranma 1/2

Mer-Man, Beast Man, Stratos, Ram-Man, Clawful, Kobra Khan and Calix on the 2002 He-Man series.

Wolverine on X-Men Evolution

Amanda Banshee on the Wacky World of Tex Avery

Ken Masters, Rory, Rolento, Charlie Nash and Blanka on Street Fighter

4) Alec Willows: He has yet to make an appearance on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.  But we all know him for the following

Tarantulas on Beast Wars

Oolong, Burter and Amond on Dragon Ball Z(Ocean Dub)

Dan The Man on the Wacky World of Tex Avery

Mushin on InuYasha

Niku-Man on Ranma 1/2

The Mayor of Townsville on Powerpuff Girls Z

Mushin on Inuyasha

5) David Kaye: Like Alec Willows, he also has yet to make an appearance on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.  But then again, he's a former Canadian Voice Actor now located in Los Angeles.  And here are the voices he did.  Yessssssss!

Megatron on Beast Wars

He also voiced a Megatron on Transformers Armada, Energon and Cybertron

Optimus Prime, Grimlock and Lugnut on Transformers Animated

Hardshell on Transformers Prime

2nd Voice of General Hawk on GI Joe

Protoman on Megaman NT Warrior

Recoome on Dragon Ball Z(Ocean Dub only)

Slade on Teen Titans Go

Professor X and Apocalypse on X-Men Evolution

Khyber, Shocksquatch, Gravattack, Cannonbolt, Heatblast,Swampfire on Ben 10: Omniverse

Soun Tendo on Ranma 1/2

J.A.R.V.I.S. on Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers: Assemble, Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes, Iron Man and Captain America: Heroes United and Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United

Clank on Ratchet and Clank

Jim Gordon on Batman: Arkham City

Sesshoumaru on Inuyasha

So who do you think would be perfect for Grogar?  Will any one of these fine actors work?  Or do you have someone else in mind?  If you choose other, please choose why you want this person to voice Grogar.

Out of the list presented Michael Dobson.

I of course have to second John Hurt and Christopher Lee, but a couple of other names to throw into the list:

Patrick Warburton - This is more curiosity on my part, as I'd like to see what he would do when presented with an actual full-on villain character.

Antonio Banderas - Think about this one. That would be one heck of a interesting take on the character.

David Kaye, definitely. I would probably pass out from joy if Grogar ever showed up and did the Megatron "Yeeeeeesssss....

Alternately, I would nominate Ron Perlman, the voice of the original Slade/Deathstroke from Teen Titans.

Morgan Freeman or Vin Diesel... or a sound-alike of either one. Someone that cool and ominous should have a voice to match. A voice of reason on the side of evil would be sweet.

All these voices would make for an awesome villain character, no doubt, but I think they'd sound a little too similar to Tirek. If they brought back Grogar, I'd imagine him as more wizardly and sage-y, like Saruman, so I agree with the opinion that Christopher Lee would be an excellent pick.

But I'm just gonna go ahead and once again make the assertion, based on the evidence provided to me, that Tom Baker would freaking kill it as Grogar.

Just watch the first minute of this:

His voice has only gotten more awesome in the forty years since that. C'mon, back me up on this, @@Fhaolan.

I'd like to see a Dan Green pony. One with the DAN GREEN VOICE, and maybe a gag about card games.

Okay, yes @@CITRUS KING46, I agree Tom would do a great job, if he would do it. I'm just not sure he would agree to do an actual full villain. The last several interviews I've seem of him, he seems to have gone very stubborn and concerned that the kids only see him doing 'good' roles.

True. I guess being in The Magic Roundabout movie scarred him. I know it scarred me.

But at least he was inside looking out, while I was subjected to the American dub with his replacement Jon Stewart.

Personally I don't care as long they play their part, it works, and the story is great. That's what we need. Not an opinion.

I just came into go "omg they made a He-Man something in 2002!!!??"  *leaves the forums in search mode*

Clancy Brown.

And either Rikard Wolff(Scar) or Stephan Karlsén(Long feng, Pete(Disney), Mewtwo) should do the swedish one. Unlikely, as the swedish one has only one real Star Voice Actor- Joakim Jennefors, the voice of Mr. Cake and... Big Mac. It's a pretty low budget dub altogether, most of the cast have this as their first outing.

The exceptions are:

1. Joakim Jennefors, who was friggin Quasimodo in Disney's Hunchback, Squidward, Barty Crouch Jr(he dubbed David Tennant lol), Gomamon, Angemon and Courage the Cowardly Dog.

2. Lizette Pålsson has voice-acted for 20+ years and is the swedish Minnie mouse. She plays Fluttershy.

3. Jennie Jahns is mostly known for playing Velma of Scooby Doo fame. She's Celestia.

4. Sharon Dyall was Esmeralda in Hunchback, Miss Grotke in Recess and Mira Nova in Buzz Lightyear. She's Luna.

Note how all but one only has rare appearances, or is Big Mac(a single recorded Eeyup might be used).

I think they messed up by not having Per Sandborgh as Discord(Niklas Gabrielson). He's done a lot of good work, including the Joker from Batman: TAS(which featured Brock from Pokemon as the Batman!), and he always gets really into the role.

The only person i'm cool with voicing Grogar is Samuel L. Jackson. Make it happen.

All good chocies. Let me contribute a few of my own.

Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in The Animated Series, Batman: Beyond, Justice League, the Movies Justice League: Doom, Batman/Superman: Doomsday and the video games Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Injustice: Gods among us. He would sound cool as a villain.

D.C. Douglas, the voice of Albert Wesker in Resident Evil. He seems pretty chill with the fandom as he did a panel at Canterlot Gardens 2012.

A bit of an oddball pic, Randy Blythe, the lead singer of Lamb of God. He could easily do a dark sinister voice, but his death growls  & screams could make a villainous character truly terrifying.

Two more interesting pics are pro wrestlers Mark Calloway & Glen Jacobs, better known in the WWE as The Undertaker and Kane respectively. They play dark and threatening charters in real life, so it shouldn't be too hard to transplant that to an animated format.

Why not go with a horror icon in Robert Englund AKA Freddy Kruger? Bring a witty yet dark sounding character to MLP.

That's all i got for now.
