KPackratt 540 May 26, 2024 Share May 26, 2024 The Return of Harmony, Somepony to Watch Over Me, Newbie Dash, Flutter Brutter, The Cart Before the Ponies, Parental Glideance, A Royal Problem, Yakity-Sax, and The End in Friend. In my opinion, all of those episodes were dreadful to watch to the point where it's painful for me to list what I didn't like about them. There may be more episodes I dislike in addition to those, but those were the ones that came to mind for answering this question.
Splode 6 May 26, 2024 Share May 26, 2024 Winter wrap up. It really made me not like twilight for like most of the show after cause all I could see was her making issues and being given the credit for fixing them. THEN in slice of life we find out she put somepony OUT OF A JOB?! like come on now- the main character syndrome she had never seemed to really go away
The Nth Doctor 664 May 26, 2024 Share May 26, 2024 Tanks for The Memories is the first episode I actively despised due to how wildly out of character Rainbow was Most Wonderbolt episodes as well since they kept hammering home time and time and time and time again how awful they were as a group, yet Dash still idolized them for no reason (The only good Wonderbolt episode was Top Bolt because the Wonderbolts weren't actually in it for once) "I love deadlines. StaryStory 4,060 June 6, 2024 Share June 6, 2024 (edited) No, I didn't hate or disliked any episode from FiM, I liked all of them and there were episodes that for me weren't fun at best. To not be repetitive, I can say the same goes for Make Your Mark, and so far, I also didn't hate or disliked any episode from G1 and Pony Life, I really disliked most of the villains from G1 so far but they weren't enough to make me hate or dislike a episode. I also didn't hate any episode from Tell Your Tale, I just think most of them are bland and forgettable, I hope it continues that way if that show doesn't get any better Edited June 6, 2024 by Rafa Stary 1 1 . C_II_R 19 June 6, 2024 Share June 6, 2024 Not too different from Rafa's opinion; whenever I have had a bad time with an episode, after a while I often saw that it was a problem I had more with myself than with the show.

Sparklefan1234 177,557 March 23 Share March 23 (edited) Are there any episodes of MLP you hate? YES! I HATE "What About Discord?" because of how Discord treated Twilight Sparkle.😥 I also don't like "Father Knows Beast" & "Putting Your Hoof Down" because Spike & Fluttershy really hurt their friend's feelings in those episodes.😔 Edited March 23 by Sparklefan1234

Dawnshine Wonder 2,633 March 24 Share March 24 Can't say there was an episode I hated, however there are some characters I dislike. Iron Will took advantage of Fluttershy's hardship in Putting Your Hoof Down and turned that into a business opportunity to make her overly aggressive, causing her to be rude to her friends Pinkie Pie and Rarity. Snapping because others treated you horribly is one thing, but when someone tries to profit off of this and turn you against your friends, that's less forgivable if I'm honest. With Discord his later antics in other episodes clearly came from sloppy writing, we know there were attempts going on to reform him, but that wasn't well thought out. With Iron Will though, we know what kind of a person he is, talks big, likes to show off pecs, a rude brute.
DJShy 926 March 25 Share March 25 (edited) 'Father Knows Beast' Oh, let me tell you about 'Father Knows Beast'. I used to be big with the fandom and especially with this website. I would watch all the episodes on that community live stream. I would sing and laugh and play and make so many good friends. Then, that episode aired one fateful Saturday morning. Now, I have a problem with misunderstandings and miscommunication. As it is known, that episode features a dragon pretending to be Spike's father and has at least one scene of Spike being dismissive towards all Twilight had done for him. Those moments became too much for me, and so I had to enact a plan, one that I had used some times in the past: I cool off and recollect myself, at which point I finish the episode on my own time and in the meantime steer clear of this site until then to prevent spoilers. It took me until 2023 to finish that episode (As a quick reminder, the show ended in 2019). Because of that episode (and also my crippling issues with misunderstandings and miscommunication, but that's not the point of this post) I missed so much of the tail end of the brony fandom while the show was still running. So many good times never had. So many events missed. I try very hard to keep this show's lessons of love and kindness and understanding close to my heart and not think of any episode of being bad, just not for me. But this one? This fucking episode? It can burn in a firey pit for all eternity for all I care. I don't just hate it. I HATE. It. It has stolen so much from me and I will never forgive it for what it has done. Misty Shadow 8,127 March 25 Share March 25 No...but there are some episodes of FiM I'm looking back at now and feeling I was too charitable towards, even as I like to find good in every episode. Non-Compete Clause, Yakity-Sax, and Father Knows Beast are always the first episodes my mind goes to when I'm thinking of episodes I no longer feel a drive to hand a pity card. Non-Compete Clause didn't have to make Rainbow Dash and Applejack so obnoxious, Yakity-Sax has by far the most muddled moral and the worst writing of Pinkie Pie out of any episode of the show, and Father Knows Beast gave us one of the worst characters of the show, someone who abuses Spike and gets no comeuppance, so that Spike can not get background development. And even though I used to like Fame and Misfortune and Dragon Dropped, episodes that were well-received when they were new...those episodes did not age well to me. I realize now that Fame and Misfortune's plot made absolutely no sense and Dragon Dropped's portrayal of Rarity...just makes me feel uncomfortable now. On the positive side, Fluttershy Leans In is no longer my least favorite episode and I appreciate Rainbow Roadtrip more now. Both are still obviously flawed and I still agree with most of my criticisms of them, but they don't fill me with any kind of negative emotion when I think about them anymore. 1 Everyone loves Misty. For good reason, of course. :

I don't know what to think of Dragon Dropped. I doubt that was their intention but who knows what was on Rarity's mind when she walked into Spike's room that night, and I can see how that imagery would be unsettling for some people. Like I said before there are not any episodes I hate, however there are some things in the show that did bother me. I would hope that Rarity was only messing around and not trying anything sinister on Spike but the thing is they don't make that obvious enough sometimes. I would like to think this was simply a matter of Rarity being a softie around Spike and not much further than that, no romance. But how they depicted Rarity was not great in that episode.

Oh yeah, the depictions of the characters in later seasons was definitely not funny. I found this out after looking at episodes beyond season 5. One that sticks out like a sore thumb for me is the episode Fake it Until you Make it, where Fluttershy acted completely out of character, was rude to friends of the forest which goes against everything she believes in and insults Rarity's customers. So while I would say hate is a tad too strong of a word for what I would describe MLP FIM episodes, given the context of it being a children's show, it doesn't quite reach that point of frustration for me, one thing I would say is it seems like people who worked on the show had forgotten how their characters are supposed to behave. Fluttershy was supposed to had learned from this mistake in Putting Your Hoof Down, to not take her problems out on others, but she does it again, undoing her character development.
winkingcorn 17 April 7 Share April 7 There is only one episode I actually hate - A Friend in Deed. Not only is it a worst pony episode, but she's absolutely out of line. Pinkie spends the whole episode torturing Cranky, who tells her repeatedly to leave him alone. Culminating in destroying an irreplaceable book of mementos. Even finding Matilda isn't a good resolution for all that. Cranky shouldn't have become her friend. The lesson should absolutely have been Twilight's telling her that not everyone will be her friend and she needs to accept that, not "there are many ways to be friends." When someone tells you they're not interested in being your friend, you don't just keep annoying them.
lambert 7 May 13 Share May 13 ‘Daring Don’t’ - This is the episode that establishes Daring Do as being a real non-fictional character. I consider this to be a mistake, and while I don’t like any Daring Do episodes after it as a result, this one in particular draws my ire for starting the trend.
Midnight Insight 310 May 14 Share May 14 Hate is such a heavy word, but... A Dog and Pony show: It starts with Rarity enslaving Spike in a gem mine, taking advantage of him because she knows he loves her. Remember that Spike is a baby dragon. I know spike is hit and belittled in many circumstances, but it's usually done in a cartoonish way to keep the show easy to watch. But in A Dog and Pony show, The fact that Rarity is blackmailing Spike in a suggestive way is actually a deliberated part of the plot, not just a sidekick joke to mantain the attention. Then, in Dragon Dropped, Rarity continues that abusive behavior toward Spike when she sees that he starts loosing interest in her... That episode just makes me feel bad. Night Sky 729 May 20 Share May 20 I dislike Bats! (S4E7) a great deal. Mind you, Flutterbat is one of the most epically epic creatures ever to take flight in the skies over Equestria, but the way she came into the world was just wrong. Tends to be that way with vampires. But the Mane 6 were totally out of character. They were coming at the bats in an unfriendly manner and were being deliberately obtuse with Fluttershy. They knew she didn't want to use the Stare, and they forced it down her throat anyway. They barely seemed to recognize the gravity of their error by episode's end. I just think that if there had to be one botched episode, this would have to be it. I wish they could have found any other way to explain the origin of Flutterbat!
Starset Twinkle 547 June 11 Share June 11 (edited) "Fake It 'Til You Make It" is my least favorite episode. They already had her do something like this in "Putting Your Hoof Down" where she sort of puts on a character mask and becomes a jerk to other ponies. So, it's already been done, but in season 1 at the very beginning of her character's journey. Even back then though that was a somewhat rough episode, which is made a decent for me by a hilarious character (Iron Will). Fast forward to season 8 and after all that character growth, they sort of rehash this gag but make it even worse because this time she's not just a jerk to ponies, but also to her animal friends. For me, the least likely character interaction I can think of in the entire show would be Fluttershy being cruel to animals. It would be like if Twilight started throwing books in a shredder or Applejack started preferring strawberries. I understand she's behaving that way while she's playing a character, but even so it's genuinely impossible for Fluttershy to ever do that in my opinion (outside of magic induced situations like "Return of Harmony" or "Mean 6"). What's worse is once she's broken from her characters there are no real repercussions. She doesn't seem anywhere near as devastated as she would realistically be in realizing how she treated her animal friends. She literally just says, "Sorry IF I hurt your feelings, you know I was only pretending right?" There's also the fact that the entire reason she puts on these characters in the first place is to mask her lack of knowledge about fashion. Except, in season 1, she is established as having an incredible knowledge of clothing design in "Suited for Success". Thus, even the entire premise of this episode is inherently flawed, and they put her character through all that nonsense for no good reason. There are actually several other things in this episode I could gripe about, but I've rambled on quite enough. I'll finish by saying that for me, the only thing worse an episode can do than be boring is to misrepresent a character, and in my opinion, this is the worst of them. Too bad too, because the outfits are really cute! XD Edited June 11 by Starset Twinkle
DJShy 926 June 17 Share June 17 (edited) Considering what it did to my relationship to the fandom (which I went into detail here and do not want to think about it any further than this post), I have a firey, burning hatred for 'Father Knows Beast'. Other than that, I can't think of an episode I outright "hate", as opposed to not thinking that much of and not thinking about it. rottenpawzies 121 June 19 Share June 19 To be honest,I dont really hate it but it's got to be Marks For Effort, but in general In dislike seasons 8-9. The main problem I have in Marks for Effort is with Twilight. She became uncharacteristic and plain rude this episode. She literally bans the CMC's to stay away from the school. But Twilight has known the CMC for quite a while so why the hell would she think that the CMC would suddenly become mean and make Cozy fail her test? That is one of the biggest peeves I had in this episode.
