@@PE Brony, I should probably start looking into doing that, too... I want to enroll in art college for the spring semester, but I haven't done anything. I don't even know what to do XD. I'll probably procrastinate and miss the deadline.

Haha I missed my priority registration before this semester started, then I couldn't take some classes I need because of it. Gotta make sure I take care of it Tuesday! Procrastination's often been a struggle, but I also find that having the actual pressure of a hard deadline can make me do my best papers the night before. *shrug*

@@PE Brony, I'm in no particular rush to start college. I'd like to start by spring, but I don't know if we'll have the money... I know, grants and loans and stuff... but that doesn't cover the 2 hour drive each way in gas, or the babysitter fees if my family can't watch my daughter. I'm procrastinating because it'll be difficult on my family. A few years of struggle will be worth it in the end, tho.

Well said. I'm the first in my family to stay in school. A couple sisters tried, but got married and dropped out. I am the first in my immediate and extended family to have my Associate's, and am the only one working on a Bachelor's with intentions to go for a Master's. My mother helped me avoid students loans while working on my Associate's at a junior college, but now I'm at a university and was finally able to qualify for grants. I still work as well, but they're not full time jobs, so I still get to live sparingly.

 

What about online courses? Or university extensions / satellite campuses? Are there none closer than 2 hours away?

@@PE Brony, Everything is 2 hours away from where I live. If I wait another year I could move closer, but within our current budget we can't afford to live where all of the art universities are. An hour closer would still be better than nothing. I just made up my mind to get into animation and started looking into specific colleges so I need to speak with an adviser to figure out if I can take online courses to start.

I'm horrible about talking to my advisers! haha I don't like one of them here, but the other one was a lot more helpful when I did talk to her. The area I'm in has a lot of really cheap student housing. My apartment complex right now includes the utilities in the rental payment so we don't have to do it separately. They also charge super-low rates over summers so students can stay around and find summer jobs.

 

Oh yeah! I saw that request and thought it was a pretty cool looking OC! Looking great so far!

I do the same and should go to bed soon so I don't skip class tomorrow morning! Talk to you later!

Same concept, less zombies. The 100 is about Earth has been radioactive for 100 years and there's a spaceship full of people waiting to go back. They're running out of resources so they sent 100 delinquents to Earth as a test to see if it's inhabitable yet. It's pretty interesting.

"Cheap" is a relative term when it costs $1200 for a studio apartment in that area. I'd be shocked if they have dorms or student housing, but I couldn't live there with my daughter so it's out of the question. I'm moving into a 4 bedroom house for less than the cost of a studio there, but it's a 2 hour commute. I don't mind the drive.

I've been busy which is why I haven't been on much the last few days. I'm glad you'll be using the drawing. It makes me feel like it was time well spent when people do.

Freshman year of high school was my favorite. Lots of new experiences. Enjoy it because the real world sucks. Study hard and get into a good college. The longer you can put off being an adult and being in the real world, the better.

Well, considering that I am a girl I probably got less flack than if I had been a boy. And it was whatever franchise was in the 90's... The one with Lickety Split, Bon Bon, Buttons,  and the little girls Megan and Molly and the witches and Spike. Flutter Valley and the flutter ponies. OH AND THE BUSHWOOLIES! They need to bring back the bushwoolies! I need to dig up that animation I made of bushwoolies several years back, from like '07. Man, this is bringing back memories.

 

I need to put my daughter to bed, and tonight is gonna be one of those cuddle nights I think. I'm gonna look up the original MLP series and put it on TV. I'll be back in a bit.
