Most useless video game boss you faced.

Chaos from Sonic Adventure. A slow, small, stupid-looking thing that couldn't hit you if it tried.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. King Bob-omb from Super Mario 64.

I know he was the first boss and was suppose to be a little easier, but come on! Could he have at least had more of a challenge? He was slow, alls he did was pick you up and throw you, if you were lucky to even get grabbed by him, and he had like 3 lives of health.

I thought he was useless xD haha.

Sad Man from Earthbound.

His primary attack was being depressed. When he did actually attack, it did a staggering 1 damage.

OMG SAD MAN!! Yessss!! Probably THE most useless video game boss ever.

One more to add. wrexsoul, also from final fantasy 6. hes WAY easier then they have you think. usually he posses one of you guys and youd normally have to kill off random members of your party til he comes out. but all you have to do is cast xzone on his 2 cronies. if it takes both out at once, its an instant win.

While Final Fantasy VI had an excellent storyline, it's bosses were rather underwhelming...  Well, up until you come to postgame Dragon's Den, but that's only available in the GBA remake.  My personal pick for most useless boss would be Seigfried, since he's built up as the greatest swordsman ever, and then his fight is intentionally easy.  Then he's never mentioned again (except in the Dragon's Neck Colosseum) so he doesn't even get the excuse of at least being an amusing character like Gilgamesh was in FFV.

Damien from Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga.  I have to clarify this by saying that the plot revolved a great deal around him, so he wasn't useless in that respect, per se.  But he has multiple opportunities to just end your life throughout the course of the game, and he always either just walks away or summons some underlings who are easy to defeat.  He's totally nonthreatening and makes stupid speeches.  Here's a prime example:

By the way, Zandalor is awesome.

Thrackerzod is best pony.

The End from Metal Gear Solid 3.

You can literally beat him by waiting.

Aw come on give the old man some credit would you? Well he kind of is a peaceful boss too, since he couldn't directly damage your health (at least while you still have psyche)

Oh on a side note: you can snipe him at one point (I remembered it's after the Pain boss battle) when he's sitting on a wheel chair, and you can avoid the boss fight with him entirely later on. :P

Yeah, but that doesn't count as the boss fight itself. But it WAS pretty creative, all credit to Kojima. I love MGS.

Vile in the opening stage of Megaman X. If I'm supposed to get captured, let me get captured. If I'm supposed to fight and kill a boss, let me fight and kill him. Don't give me the illusion of a boss fight just to go "j/k, you can't win, get #rekt."

The seal robot in the Sonic 2 Game Gear:okiedokieloki: version Aqua Lake Zone Act 3.  He inflates:catface: his nose as a balloon, which turns quickly into a sphere boulder that will end you:unamused: if you touch it.  Every time you attack him, he does this :blush:weird dance.  The music for Aqua Lake doesn't :smolder:fit in tone with the boss you face off against.

High Lord Wolnir in DS3. I already hated the catacombs level that he is the boss of, but he's just a gimmicky crap boss in a game filled with otherwise brilliant bosses and enemies. You can kill him really easily on the first try because he starts that fight non-aggressive, but if you fail that one he's going to be awake for every new attempt. He can spawn skeletons, which are weak enough but they get in the way, and they inflict bleed damage so you can't really ignore them either. He's got an AOE death gas attack that will kill you in about two seconds, and he's got an unofficial time limit in that, if you take too long, he'll eventually corner you against the back wall and use the death gas where you can't avoid it. The easiest and intended way to kill him is destroying his golden bracelets, but if he refuses to put his hands down you can't get to them. It's a fight which looks cool, but it has every single bad decision in the game in it at once. I prefer the Bed of Chaos in DS1 over this, because at least that fight is easy.

All the Forest Temple bosses in the LoZ games. Honestly, I get that they're normally warm-up dungeon crawls, but they're all so intensely boring to me in almost every Zelda game, and the bosses are usually really, really stupid looking or not at all original. :c

On the contrary -- in Ocarina Of Time, I found Phantom Ganon to be harder and more interesting than Ganondorf's first form (hell, even the Castle-escape was trickier).

Sans from Undertale cause I had to spend the whole time air slapping him while he got to hit me all he wanted. Then he fell asleep, which sounds like one of the dumbest things you could ever do in a fight. That was the only way to kill him, though.

  • The Imprisoned from Skyward Sword: It's pathetically easy and the fight is very boring and repetitive. The 2 other times you fight him are basically the same, but it grows arms and wings. I know that it builds up to the fantastic final battle with Demise, but the Imprisoned fights add nothing to the game.
  • The Witches of Hemwick from Bloodborne: The only boss in Bloodborne I didn't care for. I killed her on my first try and the creatures she summons seem to be blind. I mean, they barely came after me. They just walked around like idiots, occasionally swiping at the air. Sometimes, they'd get lucky, but their attacks are so easy to dodge it didn't matter. The Cleric Beast was easy, too, but at least that thing was a good tutorial boss and had a cool design and introduction. The area leading up to the Witches was more challenging.

Alduin in Skyrim. All that buildup to an intense and epic fight, and in the end he's about as challenging to defeat as a 1x1 Rubik's cube.

Many bosses (If I remember correctly) in the original Spyro the Dragon. Most bosses were extremely easy and able to be beaten within a minute. I know there are longer bosses in the game, but besides that I think they are pointless. Its been a while though.
