music Music Videos that RUINED the song

Ugh.

Where do I begin?

I don't know if any of you agree with me on this one.

Here goes nothing.

Do any of you remember Skrillex's remix of the song "Cinema"?

Ya ya.

It was more popular than the actual song and all and in my opinion it was a great dubstep song.

That was until they made a whole seperate music video JUST for the remix.

I mean, what do you got here?

Lack of creativity. WHY? Because the whole test chamber setting has already been done in a SHIT load of dubstep music videos. Another reason is the fact that they used women as sexual objects. I mean SERIOUSLY! They place a head-device on you and all you see is women in bed and trying to look sexy. I mean what is that supposed to do for you other than to give you an erection? It's stupid. Just plain stupid.

So has any music video ruined favorite song?

I tend to avoid music videos at all cost myself. The reason for this is most of the songs I once liked had the most awkward of music videos. I can't think of one at the top of my head, but I will say that the majority of songs I used to like were ruined by their respective music videos.

I personally avoid music videos as they usually make no sense or are just stupid (with the exception of the animated music video of "Ghost" by Mystery Skulls), I recall "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons having a stupid music video, which is a shame since you probably could have done some cool stuff with that song.

I usually don't watch music videos because most of the bands I like are too poor to make music videos. "HNNNNNNGH, get that hipster cred higher..." No, but seriously, I don't watch music videos very often because I prefer to just listen to the song itself. I don't really need a music video to accompany a song. Sometimes I'll dream up my own "music videos" for a song in my head, and that's good enough for me.

Ah yes.

Radioactive.

I used to work out to that song.

It was my jam back when it came out.

That is until the stupid music video came out for it displaying puppets fighting in a ring.

I give them points for creativity, but I'm sorry, that was just stupid with a capital "S".

It's still one of my favorite work-out songs, I just try to...you know...pretend the music video doesn't even exist.  :please:

I usually don't watch music videos, as a lot of them have really long intros or pause the song too much. So, I don't really know any songs ruined by music videos, but then again; I've never disliked a video so much that I felt the song was ruined.

Song itself isn't the super awesome one, it is nice, but I'll be blunt and admit that most of Dream Evil's lyrics are pretty shitty even by cheesy power metal standards. Although if one can ignore lyrics there are some fun riffs over here.

Music video though... what is with that fake crowd noises that hide entire music perfectly, with the poor "fake crowd" itself and with those costumes? And what is with guitarist disappearing in freaking magical rainbow in the end? Ugh, honestly, Dream Evil screwed up hard with this music video.

None: if I like the song, then a crap music video is irrelevant and I just enjoy the song. If it’s a good music video for a song I like then it’s nice to have the creative little movie to go with it.

Music videos can be terrible sometimes though, I especially hate soft-porn ones. There so generic and boring, and often have nothing to do with the song.

I feel this music video of Completement Fou was just odd and overdone. It kind of relates to the title I guess (Completement Fou is French for 'Completely Crazy')

But it's just creepy and weird. I don't like it. :s
