How to draw digital art?

Erm, so i've been wondering about how do bronies or people do digital art thing, like oc's, comics and stuff. But i don't actually know how did they actually 'DID' that, i know they might have known they used photoshop and that sorts of programs, but i still don't know how they do it, and how can i DO it.

So, how do they actually make it so good?

It's actually simple when you think about it. The first thing you need is a good art program. Photoshop is fine and all, but that's more for photo manipulation. I'd recommend Paint Tool SAI.

 

Another thing you need is a good tablet. Tablets are the key to good digital art, as it allows you to draw more freely. If you don't have a tablet, then use the Ink Pen Tool from Paint Tool SAI instead.

 

When using an art program, there is always a thing called layers. They're essential to all pieces of digital art. You start off with a simple sketch, create the line art, colour your work then shade. It's always best to keep these four steps on separate layers instead of the same one, as you have better manipulation on your work.
