REQUEST SHOP IS CURRENTLY CLOSED WHILE I CATCH UP.

 

I'm no good at drawing non-geometric shapes, which is why my ponies (and indeed people, cats, or any other creatures) come out all wonky-looking. So I've stumbled upon a simple technique for great-looking ponies.

1. Create the basic pony using the pony creator (see also the rules below); then
2. Embellish it with extra details like custom facial details, jewellery, etc; and
3. Add an interesting background.

The results are not bad. This is Storm Light...

 

 

And this is Wolf Tracks...

 

 

Let me know if you want me to attempt to draw your pony original character.

 

Rules:

• This thread is not a democracy. It's not first come, first served. It's not fair. I'll draw your OC if it seems to provide the right blend of interestingness, and challengingness, and I don't think it seems impossible for me to carry out with my limited artistic talent.
• Unless your cutie mark is a really simple shape (e.g. a square), please provide a fairly high resolution copy of your cutie mark so I can copy-paste.
• Both the samples I've shown above are 800×800-ish pictures and could potentially be resized to be suitable for avatars, etc. But I'd like to experiment with different layouts, so if you want something suitable for a desktop wallpaper, or a signature, or whatever, then please let me know what you want the picture for, and how many pixels wide and tall to target.
• If your pony has a motto, or other interesting elements to his/her character, then let me know, and I'll see what I can incorporate into the finished picture.
• Note that I am NOT suggesting that you must have created your pony using the pony creator! I am saying that when I am drawing your pony, I will use the pony creator as a starting point, because otherwise I'd never get the body shape right.

Archean Gene

 

I've borrowed this wallpaper, a quill+book picture and a picture of some stars from NASA to create this:

 

 

Then I took that and created a 1920×1080 desktop wallpaper. This should scale nicely to fit any screen which has a 16:9 ratio - i.e. widescreen.

 

 

Of course, depending on what operating system you're using, parts of it may be obscured under menus and toolbars. If so, sucks to be you.

 

Update: while I'm at it, here he is without the magic book and quill stuff...

Here she is, as naked as the day she was born...

 

 

But in the end I did manage to draw a hoodie. It took a while, and she was looking a little bored, so I gave her something to read while I was doing it. Here she is part way through the process (I hadn't done the little white cord on the hood yet)...

 

 

And here she is in all her hooded glory...

 

 

And lastly because they're fun, same picture as a wallpaper...

 

 

This one was fun, so I might come back to it later if I can think of any other interesting poses for her.

 

(I might even give her hoodie some sleeves.)
