movies/tv Favorite kids network?

My favorite kids network would have to be between Discovery Family (formely The Hub) because of MLP and Littlest Pet Shop. But, Dan Vs. got taken off the schedule sadly and Disney Channel because Gravity Falls is awesome. Cartoon Network, I only really watch Steven Universe sometimes and Nickelodeon, after Korra ends they're pretty much considered dead to me.

Not nick.

I'm really not sure.

Nobody likes Nick at all. Except Korra that show is awesome but they handle the show very poorly and hardly ever advertise it and sadly it's coming to an end very soon.

Since the hub is no more and it's become into the averagely okay Discovery Family, I can't really say I enjoy it

But since the old 90's days of cartoons, cartoon network was always my choice to this day, despite it's infamous and declining years such as CN Real

Although it began to falter a bit in it's final year or two as The Hub, Discovery Family still has some quality children's programming on right now. To be honest, The Hub had the potential to change the view of Toy based cartoons. Showing they can do more than just sell toys, and can tell stories and characters that are on par with creator driven cartoons.

As a 2nd choice, while its still far from perfect, Cartoon Network has greatly evolved from its embarrassing late 2005-2009 era, by continuing to push the boundaries of TV Animation, especially with its new CEO. With Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, and even shows you didn't expect to be good like Clerance somehow become something endearing. Now yes, they had show obvious bias towards light-hearted shows, they still have a few duds like Uncle Grandpa and Toddler Titans. And they've had a past history with sexism. But if you look at the network now, and compare with 5-6 years ago, the difference is night and day.

The Hub/Discovery Family.

Even though the hub was better, it still shows some decent programming like MLP and LPS. Would say Dan Vs. but that show is finished. Kind of sad it only got 3 seasons. It could' have gotten at least 1 more.

As for the others I'll rank them from best to worst.

Cartoon Network: It was my go to channel as a kid. It had a downhill spiral in the late 2000s when they started importing mediocre Canadian cartoons with only one of them being somewhat decent (Total Drama), and when they started airing live action programming (Dude what would happened if we canceled our show?). But, by 2010 when Adventure Time aired, they started to wake up a bit and start making more original programming and cancel the live action programming. Granted, they're hit or miss, but the misses usually get canceled pretty quickly. So overall, CN still shows some instances of trying.

Disney Channel: I feel I can be the most accurate about this seeing as how I had to watch it with family over the summer. I've noticed that they're cartoons are the only thing that's worth watching. When you get stuff like Gravity Falls and Wonder Over Yonder. Even Phineas and Ferb can be good even if the formula gets old for me. However, they're live action shows are complete and utter crap. There's a reason I wasn't much of a Disney Channel watcher as a kid. This is why. Most of their live action shows consist of the same unfunny humor recycled through every show. They contain that same laugh track that the writers use on stuff they think kids will find funny. They contain the same bland and cliched writing that just constantly makes me roll my eyes. They contain the same types of either annoying or unlikable characters. The only decent of these shows was Girl Meets World because it can at last have some heart at points.

Nickelodeon: It's been stated enough times in previous threads and all over YouTube that Nickelodeon has got it way over their heads. From the downhill spiral of Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents to the terrible sitcoms to the cartoons that do nothing but pander to kids, Nickelodeon has practically no watchable shows (well except Korra and the ninja turtles show is decent from what I've seen).

I guess Cartoon Network.

It has its few awful shows, but it also has its awesome ones.

I don't watch TV that much, but, I guess I consider it my favorite.

Certainly not Nickelodeon, though.

I'll have to go the standout and say DiscFam as well.

Most kids' networks these days are suffering from some form of mismanagement. Decisions are no longer made creatively and with foresight. Now they are made based on market research and profit margins. The industry has become so overcommercialized that many channels and creators have pretty much sold their souls, but there is a little bit of life left in it.

DiscFam mainly gets it for MLP, LPS, and Pound Puppies, no surprise here. Those are shows which combine great art, nostalgia, and modern, sharp writing with respect to their audiences and really remind me of exactly what kind of show I like to watch.

They win for the overall quality of their shows, despite poor programming choices on the network leading to the end of the Hub brand and Discovery filling out the remainder of the lineup with reruns.

I'd say CN is doing pretty good as well. I'm not really a big fan of their shows, but I respect their successes and the creative free reign (relatively speaking) that they give their staffers as opposed to their rivals, and they've made some pretty strong acquisitions recently as well.

My second choice after DiscFam would be Disney XD, mainly for Wander Over Yonder and Gravity Falls, however these shows are constantly victim to poor scheduling.

Nickelodeon is definitely bottom of the barrel, for their pandering and complete disregard of quality in pursuit of the almighty dollar, and putting anything that they can't consider the next SpongeBob in the trash heap immediately, not before hopscotching it around the schedule. It's completely broken, and the only reason why they're still alive is their market share and the relative lack of competition in this market as opposed to the hundreds of channels going after the 18-34 demographic.

I'd rate Disney pretty low, too, for the generic, assembly-line nature of their live-action sitcoms and the fact that they always get preference over their cartoons (which have all been banished to XD).

So, here's my listing:

1 Discovery Family

2 Disney XD

3 Cartoon Network

4 Disney Channel

5 Nickelodeon/Nicktoons

I would say Cartoon Network or Discovery Family.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I will get back to you once there are enough decent shows on a single network for me to be able to pick one, frankly they all suck but some suck worse than others and some a bit less. Talk to me 10 or 15 years ago and I would have been hard pressed to choose between Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network but today I like Cartoon Network better because they haven't gone down the crapper nearly as far as Nickelodeon has.
