It's cheaper than buying K-cups and that's typically how I make coffee with it. That and I use it as a hot water machine for my French press. On the actual day, I had a new tri-pod for the camera from my parents, a little Twilight Sparkle plushie from my brother and literally a bag full of chocolate.
