MLP:FiM disappearing from Netflix - Ongoing discussion

It had disappeared off of Netflix for me for a while, but it seems to have returned this morning. Alongside other Hub/Discovery Family shows like Pound Puppies.

I never would have expected a potential Netflix removal to negatively affect so many people. Wowzers.

I have physical copies of all of the seasons and both movies on DVD, so I'm set for the most apocalyptic of events. Guys? I recommend looking into that. Having physical copies of stuff prevents streaming services and cable providers from being able to jerk you around. The one-time expense is a little bigger, but once you have it, it's yours.  :fluttershy:

I agree that physical copies are nice, but unfortunately they're not always an option for all of us, at least in the near future.  I would've found a way to watch the episodes even if they'd left Netflix, but since my family has it it's been really nice and convenient for rewatching MLP.  In a perfect world I'd be able to get a physical copy of any media near and dear to my heart, but I'm just a grad student with a fixed budget who has to pick and choose when it comes to what I spend the extra cash I have for entertainment.  That usually goes to either video games (and the last new game I got was the rerelease of Halo for the Xbox One) or something Batman related.  Maybe someday I'll get physical copies of MLP, but right now, I'm happy with watching it on Netflix.

Very true. The four seasons of MLP are all on Amazon, but right now they'd cost about $110 for all of them. I know all too well that not everyone has that kind of cash laying around. But for those that do, I'd say it's definitely worth it. It sure has been for me.  :fluttershy:

I also has the complete set of DVDs for the Seasons, and the BluRays of the Movies. :)

But, as far as I know, they haven't released BluRays for the Seasons in the USA. :(

Web searches show they have some Season-Pack blurays in Germany, but I can't find any info on a potential BluRay Release.

Does anypony know if/when they're gonna release BluRays of the Episodes/Seasons, in the USA?

At least with Netflix Streaming, all of the episodes are in HD, and they're presented in a nice, organized, easy-to-browse format/layout on my TV and mobil device, so I'm pretty happy they haven't taken them offa the Netflix. :)

Even though they have both EG movies on Netflix too, they don't have those 8 bonus Rainbow Rocks vids/shorts, that come with the BluRay. Ponies that can't afford physical copies can watch those on youtube, though. ;)

I can imagine!  :D   How's the packaging on those?  Random question, I know, but one way I often measure in my head the quality of a DVD or Blu-Ray package is how nicely it's put together, especially for something like an ongoing movie or television series.  I'm interested also to hear if Hasbro, uh, "ponied up", so to speak (HA, GET IT???  :yay:) for the DVD releases.

The pictures from the post above should give you a pretty good idea of how they look. I like the cover art. The packages themselves are pretty standard for TV show season collections. Nothing exceptional, but they do the job.

The only show I collect that really goes above and beyond in that regard is Doctor Who, though I'm sure there are probably others that I haven't discovered yet.

HA, that Season 3 cover!  :yay:   Nice work with the spoilers, guys, it only gives away the season finale.  Oops!  :wau:
