If the ponies feared you for eating meat, how would you handle it?

Learn to adapt to their ways and eat as how they would; or else find a new diet entirely.

Not saying it would be easy, but it kinda has to be done.

I would make an incredible speech to the masses with some inspiring music in the background about how I came from a different world to them where different things were accepted. Obviously there'd be SO much more to it than that but I really can't be bothered to write out a whole hour long speech on the matter  ^_^

I wouldn't introduce ponies to the internet in the first place, as their technology hasn't improved to that degree and we shouldn't take it into our own hands to screw up their timeline.

If Twi finds out I would also point out that she and Fluttershy's counterpart both ate meat in Equestria Girls.

Honestly, I'd take immediate offense and demand a proper trial, if not an official condemnation of this mob. They're accusing me of murder and cannibalism simply out of misplaced fear! Heck, if Equestira has a civil court, I might even sue Flutters for defamation! An accusation of murder and cannibalism, to the point of forming an angry mob, is most certainly damaging to my reputation!

Ponies would just handle a human like a human handles a meat eating predator in zoos, provide substitute meals to fill its belly so they themselves aren't the meal. Fluttershy isn't overly concerned with eggs, fish, and bugs getting eating.

Kind of a moot point.  AJ has a dog, and they're omnivores.  Rarity has a cat, and all cats are obligate carnivores, which means they can only eat meat.  Hell, even Fluttershy helps her animal friends get meat: she even gives fish to the otters and gives worms to the birds.  Clearly she doesn't care for the taste herself, but she doesn't hold it against any of her meat-eating animal friends.  I don't think Twilight of all ponies would be squeamish or distrustful of humans simply because we're omnivores.

Yeah, not simply. If you were a creature from another world looking at our species from the outside, and you read up on our history, your initial impression probably wouldn't be a very positive one.

Turn into a vegetarian. Hopefully solving it.

But the Fluttershy part makes no sense, wouldn't Twilight or Applejack try to stop her?

They would, but this is assuming they weren't successful at it.

My first impression wouldn't be that honestly.

It would be "who the heck wrote that ?" or "Oh wait, I don't have millenia to spend on reading human's history" or "Why am I reading this again ?".

It wouldn't be " Oh my, you're eating animals, die because, uh, die."

I think @@PlunderSteed brought a good point that has been already told several times. But you didn't really answered the problem here. We're not talking about human history seen through the eyes of ponies, we're talking about how being carnivorous is something common among most of the animals they know and how being carnivorous should be that much of an issue.

But yeah, "it's assuming they are afraid of us", but I don't get how we are supposed to imagine how we could act in such a situation if all the variables are biased and assumed. :)

I have actually though about something similar before. In my fantasies, I end up in Equestria, and one of the first things I end up being served contains eggs or dairy and I have to explain what a vegan is and why. They would be freaked out by humans eating meat, but also think that I am a bit "extreme" for not eating eggs or milk products. So, unless Twi got on the intertubes before my first meal there, I would hopefully be covered. Otherwise... Fluttershy! NO! I am not like them! :'(

"If ponies feared you for eating meat"

Uh... Spike is a DRAGON, Gilda is a GRIFFON.... Ponies certainly would not hate or fear a human for eating meat... especially not Fluttershy, in fact I think she'd be more comfortable with it than any of the other ponies... she lives with a BEAR.

Our history might not be the main subject, but it's still relevant. If you met a person who turned out to be a gang member, would you trust them not to use physical violence against you, or not to steal your belongings? That skepticism would apply here.

Dude, I already addressed this in the OP. What you're saying here is like saying we shouldn't fear a cyclops just because we're already accustomed to animals (which are all tameable) that can eat humans.

That doesn't mean I would call a mob with torches to attack him. There's a huge difference between skepticism and terror.

What you're saying here is like saying we shouldn't fear a cyclops just because we're already accustomed to animals

We are not cyclops, we are humans, we are weak, and anything but harmful when we don't have the tools to fight. And compared to most of animals, we don't look harmful at all. If we were to make a comparison, it would be like being a rampaging rabbit.

Even if you know it's merciless and crual, you don't call a mob for a rabbit.

I don't see that happening. First of all, the concept of carnivores shouldn't be a shock to them. There are plenty of predators in the MLP universe. Fluttershy doesn't seem to have a problem with housing and feeding them.

Second, they don't seem to hate griffons and sea serpents for eating meat. Why start now with humans?

I made the example that people would likely hate a thug. We can say that about pretty much any group with a certain stigma attached to it, like the Nazis or the KKK.

You don't seem to be one of those violent types, but violent crimes (including those done to animals) happen on our planet every day, so how would the ponies know any better? If all humans were given the opportunity to immigrate to Equestria, you could be sure that most of the ponies would be treated like cattle, hunted and eaten. Griffons and sea serpents couldn't dream of being as destructive as we are.

I thought that it all began when Twilight

stops when she sees that we eat meat.

She doesn't know enough about humans to conclude they're more destructive than sea serpents and griffons.

So yeah, I understand your point, and I already know how crual and destructive the humans are, but that's not the topic here, and you can make humans look as crual as you want, doesn't change the fact that the ponies, in this case, don't know anything about this.

To them, we are nothing like

a thug

, or

the Nazis or the KKK.

(godwin).

And, anyway, if they really think that way, they don't even care whether or not I eat meat, which contradicts the topic.

I wasn't convinced yet, so, in my opinion, the scenario doesn't make sense and any answer that I could give you wouldn't either, logically speaking, so I won't be able to answer your topic.

its not that hard to become a vegetarian.... I can manage to live off of whatever they grow..... plus its better to be a vegetarian then to be shunned by the entire land of Equestria for eating meat...

You know animals kill each other all the time, right? Humans are just more efficient at it.

But who am I to talk? There's nothing worse in the universe than

Also, what would the government gain from slaughtering recently discovered aliens that can communicate with us? Bad publicity? Meat they can easily get from other animals? Would all that really be worth the military budget and dead soldiers? Not only that, but it would spark an all-out conflict that nobody wanted, and could've easily been avoided.

But to answer your original question, I would leave if that happened. Why would I want to hang out with someone apparently as unreasonable, simple-minded and judgemental as the ponies?

You're assuming our general diet is the very first thing she would read about, when I haven't made that suggestion. I never said when she'd stop reading, or after which subjects. But at this point, I might as well edit the OP again to clarify.

Anyway, the ponies would care if they had all that information. It brings into question how trustworthy you are. If all humans were herbivores, they'd at least have one less reason to fear you.

You don't say!

I think you know just as well as I do that politicians could care less what we think. They control the media, so bad publicity is not an issue for them. They'd just demonize these ponies like they have any other population they went to war with in the last century. That's how propaganda works.

Exotic meat would just be a bonus for them anyway. Equestria's natural resources can be stolen, and unicorns can be sold on the slave trade for their magic.
