I *think* I may have asked this already & I apologize if that's the case.

 

"What are your feelings on Matt Striker as a commentator?"

 

I feel that while Striker can sometimes give interesting trivia on the wrestlers or wrestling history

 

he also falls into the same patterns as Bradshaw

 

where he makes obscure references, tells lame jokes & can be overly excited.

 

Like, when he said that absolutely cringe worthy line (IMO.) "No way, it's a mark out, moment I'm marking out bro!" 

 

during the Royal Rumble in 2011.

I'd say he's improved by leaps and bounds since then. He still has his cringey jokes, but I think they're meant to be, just to show how much of a nerd he is at heart still. But he definitely pays a hell of a lot more attention to a match than Bradshaw ever did. He's evolved into a very sound play by play guy, showing both technical know how of a match but mixing it with they type of enthusiasm a fan would have. 

 

Listen to his work on Lucha Underground and it's a marked improvement on his wwECW days. Or if you have NJPW world, go watch WrestleKingdoms 9 or 10.

Watched the Tiger Mask W anime tonight like every saturday. The Bullet Club debuted in the anime, featuring Kenny Omega, Tamma Tonga and Bad Luck Fale.

 

I legit marked out when i saw them, because i really didn't expect to see non japanese NJPW wrestlers in the anime.

Okay, after having some time to think, I have a theory regarding the Royal Rumble

 

 

 

What if they're going to turn Roman Reigns heel?

 

Think about it. They have to know that Reigns would not get a positive reception after following the Undertaker in the Rumble, and especially not after eliminating the Deadman. So naturally they're teasing Reigns/Taker at Mania, but what if all this is to make us boo Reigns? And especially considering Orton eliminated him last and won the Rumble, he's got more fuel to turn heel there.

 

Plus he never showed up at the Raw show after, so there's room for speculation.

It's official. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, The Rock-n-Roll Express are going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. I'd best check out some of their matches on Youtube somewhere.

Thoughts on after last night's Raw:-

 

 

 

Goldberg vs Owens for the Universal title at Fastlane, and then teasing Jericho vs Owens for a title vs title match at WrestleMania.

 

Okay, here me out on this one.

 

The cracks in Jeri-KO's friendship have started to show, and Owens is getting increasingly irritated by Jericho's actions. So what if, Jericho accidentally costs Owens his match and Goldberg wins the Universal Title? Then Jericho, being the innocent nice guy, turns face, and their match at WrestleMania is for the United States title.

 

Not only do Jericho and Owens get a feud going, but if Goldberg has the Universal Title, his match with Brock Lesnar suddenly has more stakes.

He won't. He's contracted for one more match post fastlane. So he's dropping it to Lesnar. Who will rob it of relevance by defending it once every 3 months.

little short first impression on WWE 2K17 because my PS4 has arrived today.

 

Really like the game. Roster is big, you have alot of match options, game looks really good (might be bias, because this is my first PS4 game i played) and the feature with the VC currency keeps you playing by getting more wrestlers and arenas (seriously, love the fact that the tokyo dome from the WCW Japan supershow is in it. )

 

 

So, WWE Fastlane is coming up. It's going down only 45 minutes away from me. 

 

Question I ask to you all: Should I go? 

 

Only if you hold up a sign that says "Hi Mesme Rize."

 

I would go. If you have the money and have nothing else to do, you should go for it. Maybe you actually have fun, because watching a wrestling show live is always different then watching it on TV.

Let's play another game. Even though Wrestlemania is around the corner and it's often considered the "Grandaddy of them All", I've personally considered Summerslam (considered the 2nd biggest WWE event) to be my personal favorite event. And some times for certain years, the Summerslam of that year is better than the Wrestlemania. So I figured that we'd discuss for all the years of Summerslam's existence, I'll do a list of which for each year from 1988 to 2017 which event was better for that year, the Wrestlemania or the Summerslam. I'll also state why.

 

Here's the first ten:

 

1988: Summerslam, because the Wrestlemania with the tournament was a little long and tedious. Although the Macho Man winning the belt was awesome, Warrior squashing Honky to win the IC title and the Mega Powers versus Mega Bucks are far more memorable.

1989: Summerslam. It was a close one but I'd have to give the slight edge to the Summerslam due to having a better card overall.

1990: Wrestlemania. Both events were relatively weak, but the Hogan VS Warrior match gives the Mania the slight edge.

1991: Summerslam.  Another close one, but I'd say I had a lot more fun with the Summerslam.

1992: Summerslam. The Mania was good, but it had quite a few weak moments whereas the Summerslam was bigger and had that fantastic Bret VS Bulldog match at Wembley Stadium.

1993: Summerslam. A bad year for the WWF but I'd go with the Slam over WM 9 anyday. 

1994: Wrestlemania. Another close call, Both shows were great but I'd have to give the slighter edge to the Mania due to the Ladder match and the 1st Bret VS Owen match.

1995: Summerslam. Although another bad year for the WWF, I'd have to give the nod to the Summerslam because of the HBK/Razor Ladder match II.

1996: Wrestlemania. Despite the Slam having the Boiler Room Brawl, The Mania had the Iron Man Match. But still close.

1997: Summerslam. Despite Mania having that awesome Bret VS Austin Submission match. I'd have to say the Summerslam had the better show overall.

 

The next ten to come later. What are your choices?
