There is only one answer for me: Curt Hennig: WWF/WCW Champion

Gotta agree with that one. It's really disappointing that he never got a shot to carry either company.

I said any gold. Hennig was a former IC and US champ.

Hennig was also a former AWA Champion. Well, I guess that makes your question impossible for me to answer. :lie:

I really like the ankle lock.

Me, too -- especially the scissor-hold version:

To date, I've never seen a counter for ^that^ kind -- other than "Hope you're already close enough to the ropes."

Wrestlers who never won any gold during their tenure with a major wrestling fed. Other examples are Jake the snake (wwf/wcw) and Junkyard Dog (wwf). No championships whatsoever.

Half the stuff ZSJ does. Orienteering with Napalm Death (stretch muffler / calf killer hybrid) and Jimmy Breaks Armbar (yes lock/ rings of Saturn hybrid).

Cm punk has a few that I wish he used more often. Like a bridging version of the anaconda vice and the devil lock cloverleaf.

And finally, one that's simple yet effective. The siscilean stretch/ Nagata lock III / Rings of Saturn (Neville ver.) half crossface, half regal stretch.

So. Who here skipped RAW yesterday? I know I did. Good thing I watch SmackDown (between the two anyways). Nothing's there is interesting anymore. Now. I'm going to wait patiently and HOPE Andrade 'Cien' Almas gets some kind of title run.

I haven't watched an episode of raw since February, and that was the episode with the Gauntlet match that single handedly revived Seth Rollins' career. I don't even know what the last one I watched before that was. Maybe the raw after mania 33? The one where Roman got booed out of the building.

Good. Cause you didn't miss much... for the passed 9 months as the matches are just rehashed, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor, Baron Corbin. And many other talents wasted. And this is the brand we're suppose to believe is better than Smackdown?

How could I forget my favorite submission move in wrestling!?

I must've been thinking about Kurt Angle specifically but I totally forgot about William Regal.

I've got a couple: Figure 4 because it's an oldschool type of hold. Anaconda vice because it's the one that I literally use as a finisher on all my CAWs in the WWE games.

Not even close. Smackdown is the A show right now. Raw is nothing more than a rehashed, hackneyed version of the "Authority" storyline they did a while back.

But what I hate is Vince TRYING to force it down on us that Raw is better than Smackdown. Which of course Smackdown is MUCH more entertaining and the A show between the two. And for a commissioner to have a corrupted manager run Raw the way it's going right now, Stephanie just doesn't care for it's wrestlers. Can't she just find a competent manager already and fire Corbin please? Yeeeesh.

That's a bit generous, as up until this week, they were kinda mediocre. Heck last week they were as bad as raw. NXT is the real A show.

I don't think he really cares, as long as the ad revenue comes in. Keep watching, stop complaining. That's all he wants. I mean the falling ratings and attendence have changed nothing.

And the only reason Baron is getting so much attention is cause they had no back up after the loss of both Roman and Strowman.

Ech. Probably so. Aside from RAW, from PWU's recent video, WWE is buying and shutting down indy wrestling shows? What do you guys think of it? I personally don't like it. Just getting rid of small wrestling businesses, and assuming new to come wrestlers losing their jobs working for them.

I haven't heard anything of this. They've got deals with Evolve, Progress, ICW and WXW, and they're still running. However they've now made their NXT guys sign exclusivity deals. They can only work between WWE and those companies, or if they do go indy, they cannot wrestle anyone signed to Impact, ROH, RevPro or NJPW. I don't agree with it but I can see why. Better to have people pay premium to see those guys rather than go to an indy fed and pay $10 to see the same match.

Best we can do is not give WWE our attention and support the indy guys regardless. Vote with your wallet.

Wait...is this a non-compete clause for like a year or so? Or indefinitely?

Indefinitely. That's how WWE contracts work.

Don't agree with it. There needs to be competition for a company to keep improving themselves. That's why the old TNA was so good and obviously WCW made WWF even better.

I think WWE doesn't care about competition because, no other company has been able to get/hold on to their momentum since WCW closed its doors.

But competition doesn't lead to profit. Yes, WWE's product was better from a creative stand point, but business wise WCW was holding them back. And I wouldn't count old TNA as competition. If anything, trying to be competitive was what did them in. Trying so hard to be better than WWE that they lost sight of what made them great in the first place.

WWE may suck but enough people like what they do to keep them afloat. Kinda why Electronic Arts and Viacom are still in business.

Don't think that's why. It's more to do with the corporate side making more money than the consumer one. Who cares if the fans leave, when the stock price is high, the networks pay so much to air content, the advertisers loving the 5 hours of TV time each week and of course the private funding from the house of Saud.

Every time I think I've finally gotten Dan "The Beast" Severn's WWF theme out of my head I see someone mention it, & it's stuck there, again. :squee:
