Every time I think I've finally gotten Dan "The Beast" Severn's WWF theme out of my head I see someone mention it, & it's stuck there, again. :squee:

Not the worst theme to have caught in your ear.

Okay so as everypony knows by now, NJPW's world tag league has reached its halfway point. As of the 30th, the teams with the best chance at making the finals are:

  • G.o.D. (the tag champs)
  • Evil and Sanada (defending tournament winners)
  • Killer elite squad
  • Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano
  • Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi

So who among these do you see winning the tag league and who has had the best matches?

For my money it'll be Taichi/ZSJ and they had great matches against their fellow Suzuki gun teams, w/ Zack having chain wrestling epics against Minoru Suzuki and Davey Boy Smith Jr. Respectively.

I've always fantasized a dream match/feud between Dynamite Kid and Davey Boy Smith. If Dynamite hadn't been so banged up in 1988 I imagine there would have been a British Bulldogs break up angle in 1989 with a match between them at WrestleMania V.

Though on an aside, I have to say that the audio for this show was all sorts of off. The live sounds of the entrance music and the dub for the broadcast have been 5 seconds out of sync. And not just on our end. Kevin Kelly & Excalibur acknowledged hearing it on their head sets. Also I feel sorry for them and anyone at ringside. Cause that ring bell was loud as all hell. And I mean loud enough to nearly blow out my speakers. I can only imagine how head rattling it was live.

Also Tonga Roa proving he's every bit as tough as his father, tanking three chair shots to the face.

Tomorrow morning, the finals of World Tag League will be:

Spoiler

A rematch of last years final.

If LIJ wins, they'll be the second ever back to back winners of WTL. If GoD wins, as champions they'll have the right to choose their challengers for WK13.

Fun fact: Juice Robinson is more Irish than Dave Finlay Jr. Another fun fact: Chuck Taylor will pick gum off the arena floor and chew it during a match.

Here's a link to an article with snippets of what Xavier Woods said: https://sports.mb.com.ph/2018/12/01/wwe-xavier-woods-slams-entitled-fans/

We;ll that's on him for towing the company line. Fans he may have a point with. But it's a different issue when you call paying customers entitled.

So with world tag league in the books, what's one wwe team you'd like to have seen partake in the event? Remember, heavyweight teams only and no former NJPW guys. So no good brothers or war raiders.

I think the bar would put on some good bouts. They're not too dissimiliar to KES or Unbreakable Olympians and would be a good power team with technical finesse.

I think the Usos could be an exciting team in New Japan.

And the rivalry between Chris Jericho and Tetsuya Naito is starting to bubble back to the surface.

So, according to Chris Jericho if he wins he *becomes* the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

The Evolution of Jericho continues. :orly:
