Hi everypony!

So, does anypony else know any of the cast members? Have you met them in public or at a Con? Please share your experiences in meeting the cast in crew of MLP: FiM

@Princess Selene, I made a change to the topic title to something more descriptive, and added to your post to spark a discussion. Also, this is about the an aspect of the fandom engaging show staff so this belongs in our FiM Sections. I'm moving this to Sugarcube Corner.

Not yet but I might see them in person at BABSCon.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Howdy all!

Met some of the show staff & VAs at San Diego Comic Comic Con 2 years ago.

Staff: Meghan McCarthy, Jayson Theissen

VA's: Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle)

Andrea Libman (Fluttershy & Pinike Pie)

Cathy Wessluck (Spike)

Didnt make it to their panel (Thank goodness a fellow fan posted the panel on YouTube)

Met them at the Hasbro booth as they signed autographs.

Really Nice people.

I asked Cathy hope that Spike gets another kiss again from Rarity in a future episode.

She replied: (in her Spike Voice) Yeah yeah Whatever

I said make way for Queen Twililicious! Tara grinned.

And she said at the booth in her Twilight voice: Dear Princess Celestia :)

Andrea got a kick out of my Fluttershy impressions (You Rock! Whoo-Hoo! & yay!)

Had a huge smile on her face it was classic.

I hope to meet the rest of the voice cast Ashleigh Ball (Applejack & Rainbow Dash)

Tabitha St.Germain (Rarity & Princess Luna)

Nicole Oliver (Princess Celestia)

Britt McKillip (Princess Cadence)

Kazumi Evans (Adagio Dazzle in Rainbow Rocks plus the singing voices of Rarity & Princess Luna)

In the near future.

See ya!

I have not since I have never been to a con before. When I go to Equestria LA this year, hopefully I can see a voice actor or two; especially Tara Strong! (My favorite)

I met Peter New (Big McIntosh) and got him to sign my weekend pass at PonyConAU 2014, after a few exchanges of "eeyup!"s, since he wasn't getting as much traffic as Andrea was over the PCAU 2014 weekend.

I met Vincent Tong (The voice of Flash Sentry) at Ponycon NYC 2015. He's the most amazing person ever. And he really knows how to dance.

The panel in which I met him can be seen below. (The guy snapping his fingers in the front seat is me :P)

I've met Andrea Libmann (Pinkie/Fluttershy), Michael Daingerfield (Braeburn), and Vincent Tong (Flash Sentry). He's not a part of the cast but Black Gryph0n was also there.

It was last year at a small pony expo in WEM. It was after the main panels, and I was with some other people going to get some beverage before the evening/night scheduled events commenced and we ran into the people mentioned above. I only met Andrea and Michael briefly, asthey didn't hang around. Andrea Libmann maintains a very high energy, Pinkie-esque stage presence, which must have  been tiring. We ended up hanging out with Gryph0n and Vincent for a few minutes just shooting the breeze. They're pretty nice, chill folks.

As @Shadowking58 mentioned, Vincent Tong can Dance. We were right by a lounge, and there were a couple people inside but it was very quiet. Vincent danced his way in and back out. It was pretty damn funny, though nobody seemed to really notice or care.

I've met most of them at conventions and have had the opportunity to chat with them a bit. Hopefully I'll get to meet up with Larson at a con again sometime, and maybe next time we can go sit at a quiet, little bar or something and have a drink together. He does that sort of thing. Very friendly, kind of trolly guy at times. xD

  • 2 weeks later...

I've met and interacted with 12 of the cast members, and at least one of the writers (Cindy Morrow):

Tara Strong

Ashleigh Ball (I cosplayed as Trenderhoof when I met her! XD)

Andrea Libman

Tabitha St. Germain

Cathy Weseluck

Michelle Creber

Claire Corlett

Maryke Hendrikse

Peter New

Brian Drummond

Brynna Drummond

Ian James Corlett

I've gotten photos taken with most of them except for Peter New and the two Corletts; with those three, we only happen to be passing by at a couple points during BABSCon, I immediately recognized them, and just simply greeted and shook hands with them. That was good enough for me.

Last Summer at a screening of A Brony Tale documentary in L.A., I met Ashleigh Ball in the flesh! (I would have been even more thrilled if it was Tara Strong due to her voice work outside of MLP, but still.) In my copy of the "Elements of Harmony", a reference book of the show up through June 2013, I had her sign on the recap page for "Fall-Weather Friends" Fitting, because she voiced both the Mane characters in that episode: Applejack and Rainbow Dash. The single picture inside even features both of them in the Running of the Leaves!

I spoken with...I think the VA of Sunset Shimmer on Twitter a time or two, and maybe Andrea plus Ashleigh, but that's about it. Tara is too busy to talk to people, haha.

I saw quite a few people from the show at BronyCAN last year. I got to ask Nicole Oliver a question at a panel, and was there when she did her ice bucket challenge, though I was behind the crowd so I don't think you can see me on the vid. The person I interacted with the most was Amy Mebberson who sometimes does art for the comics. I asked her and Georgia Ball a couple questions at a panel, and I bought a signed sketch of Fluttershy from her in the vendor hall. It's easily my favorite collection piece and if I ever come out of the Brony closet I'm getting it framed, which is probably easy since it looks like it's roughly the size of a common 5x8 frame. Even though Amy Mebberson isn't from the show, I think she's pretty cool too. Cork Top apparently had a run in with Claire Corlett in the hallway. I did not have the same pleasure, but I'm satisfied with the interactions I did get to have.

I think it's awesome that the show's staff are so accessible and willing to interact with the fans. You'd think there would be at least a small celebrity barrier to cross, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the FiM cast and crew. Of course there were limits, but it didn't feel like anyone from the show or comics were worlds apart from the rest of us. That's just one more thing that makes being a Brony awesome.
