Do ponies use Eggs to make cakes?

I meant that it's not weird that they have glue - I was pointing out that non-animal glue has been used for millenia by human societies, let alone pony ones. Sorry if that wasn't clear! ^^;

Oh, thank you   I got worried for a moment!

I'm at least glad that they don't eat meat

They totally do eat meat! (Or seem to.)

I was just watching Fall Weather Friends this morning, and Pinkie talks about competing in a hot dog eating contest.

Now it's possible they only have vegetarian hot dogs made out of some meat substitute, but until canon contradicts it, my new headcanon is that ponies are at least occasional carnivores.

Are the fish sentient?

All creatures in Octonauts are sentient. Even coral seems to be.

It might be weird if they put red meat in, but not so much eggs. There is quite a few differences between meat and say milk or eggs, a main one being you don't kill anything to get them.

yeah, i'm a vegetarian and i completely agree to this.

When you think about it them having milk or red meat, thats kinda like us eating and milking monkeys

People do eat monkeys.

You have a charming view of the egg/dairy industry.

Pray tell me, what do you think they do with the male animals? You know, the ones that can't lay eggs or produce milk? Do you think they allow them to frolic and gambol in flower-filled meadows? Perhaps in Equestria they do, but not in our world.

Since it's been shown that eggs are used in bakery, and I can't see any other reason to raise chicken if you don't eat them (can chicken feathers be used to fill pillows? That could be a reason to raise chicken), yes, ponies use eggs.

Oh I know full well what happens to them. I haven't been able to eat processed food ever since I mad the mistake of watching Food Inc.

I'd like to imagine that ponies have a much "cleaner" system in place.

It's also stated in the song "You've got to care..." that the ponies are vegetarian.

But on both occasions it's Pinkie Pie speaking, so we can't really know for sure, considering that she's completely insane and breaks the laws of logic.

Scientifically speaking, the eggs we normally eat never actually form into a fetus to begin with. They're just that - potential babies. Actually, from my understanding the eggs are frozen after being harvested long before any chance that a fetus can form, so the incubation is cut out entirely required to hatch the egg.

Besides that, many vegans find it perfectly acceptable to consume eggs. No living creature is harmed or killed. As for the ponies, its widely known that they consume eggs. Heck Rarity here made breakfast with eggs for her parents:

There is by the way such a thing as an egg product with a fetus inside of it. Its called balut:

Or how about the glue that the fillies use in arts and crafts

I'm surprised I haven't seen grimdarks about this lol

As much as they don't seem to eat meat, they are clearly not pure vegetarian either. Where did the cheese in that cheese Sandwich that Weird Al pony is named after come from? They consume dairy, but are predominantly vegetarian.

Unless you go to the human world

I think the creators of the show suddenly forgot that eggs are used in making these baked foods. Maybe they are just a little but humanized and they are not full vegtarian but they will never eat meat and eggs are fine it seems.

I grew up in the boonies & some of my neighbors had chickens.  It depends on if the eggs are fertilized or not.  If you are planning on eating the eggs, you keep the hens away from roosters (not always easy).  But, unfertilized eggs will never hatch so would be ok to eat.
