I couldn't really find an active thread anywhere that really has dota discussed here, and I would like to discuss my favorite game with other people that love this game as well. What's your favorite heros? What's wrong with the meta game? What team do you think is doing well/poorly latley? Feel free to discuss anything dota related!

I still play the frigging game, although rarely nowadays.

 

I dont exactly have any favourite heroes, but i´d say Tinker, Storm Spirit, and stuff like that.

 

Not a huge fan of watching professional games, but i usually watch some of the TI´s every year, although the last one was a bit.. mediocre.

I do play it, but my relationship with it is similar to that of Stockholm Syndrome. I know it's just going to keep making me angry and yet I go back, game after game. Oh well.

 

I guess I'd say my favorite hero is Brewmaster, I just really like his design and his ultimate is always fun when you manage to get a huge teamfight going.

I play it quite a bit, it's the first Moba I've really gotten into. Got almost 500 hours in it now My favourite hero is probably Troll Warlord (THE ATTACK SPEEED!), followed by Clinkz and Razor. I usually end up playing support though, my favourite support is probably Skywrath Mage.

Yea, they reworked the drop system not to long ago, infact when that patch dropped, most people got great items to make up for the months of not finding stuff.

@Sceethe Last year's TI was kind of a let down because of the "deathball" meta which involved picking heros that can take all the towers in 20 minuets, then be so ahead from tower gold that the other team can't do anything. Meta game right now is pretty much just sniper, troll, juggernaut, and axe, & lina every game. 

 

As far as my favorite hero's go, I'd say naga is my #1 favorite, then I like morph and storm spirit.

I stopped playing DotA a couple of weeks ago. Same with LoL, as of this morning. I gave ranked a chance. Wasted time. 

 

My mains were Sniper (Not OP, trust me, trolls), Clinkz (Simple to play? Giggles ensue), Razor(the combos are real), and Sven(Too manly not to play).

 

See you on TF2, and nowhere else!

how the hell can anyone like morphling?^^

might aswell go play farmville, the guy needs so much money to be effective( even if you play it like me and rush the e-blade, it is still like 6k gold you need to get first)

 

i have kind of noticed that axe has gotten more popular recently. I think he had a bit too many buffs in the last few patches.

I play Dota a lot. I have around 600 hours in it so far and my best heroes are Dragon Knight and Axe. I like playing big ulti initiator heroes because I want to be able to have a big impact on teamfights and win it for my team before it even begins (by landing perfect 5 man Echo Slams or Ravages that is).

I'm a 1K MMR scrub who often feeds his way to humiliating defeat. Yet I love Dota 2.

 

Who here bought the compendium for The International 5? IMO the first chest of immortal items was awesome, but the second one is not that good.

 

I usually prefer to support, but in my trench tier that's not really a useful role. All a support is good for at 1K is buying the courier, and sometimes wards.

Really? I liked the second immortal chest. My compendium is level 352, so I've gotten multiples of the immortals and I even got the SF arms and golden basher blades.

 

If I'm going to be completely honest though, I hate this game. I don't know why I play it, but I hate it. It just frustrates you and you meet some of the most assinine people on the internet that you wish you could legitimately murder, but nope, they're off somewhere in peru insulting you in spanish. This game will make you racist, whether you like it or not. I never really cared about illegal immigration before this, but when I play on a US east server, I expect to be able to communicate with people in my own language, but for some reason they play on our servers even though they have their own servers to play on.

I have around 1400 hours on this game-- had it for two years. Been playing pretty consistently on it, though this last year has dropped tremendously. I got about 1000 hours in the first year of having it.

Favorite hero Weaver. Favorite item Lotus Orb. I liked the new update, really buffed supports. Good stuff.

^ Yeah, same. I'm mainly a support player in Dota, just because I don't trust anyone else to upkeep wards. I loved that they separated the wards, which are totally my favorite items.

I'm a pubscrub, who feeds a lot (a contributing factor to why I play support; a feeding support isn't as bad as a feeding carry)... I don't play ranked. It's too nerve-wracking. D:

I have about 900 hours. I play mostly in parties, and have to get press ganged into playing lately. I get so stressed out. XD

I'm only 2k mmr as I got my rank whilst I was a scrub. I'm slowly getting it up. This is why you don't play ranked until you're in at least the high skill bracket on normal mm. I currently have 2222 hours

I was out of DOTA 2 for a long time because something was up with their servers that made my connection crap.

Seems to be fixed now, which is nice since the International is going (here's for hoping to a better TI finals than last year).

So I recently sold my SG 553 Pulse StatTrak from CS:GO on the Steam Community market since I don't play CS:GO really at all, and it got me over two bucks, so I bought another cache and figured "Maybe I'll get lucky this time, worst comes to worst I can just give the set to a friend." And check out what I got!

You lucky son of a.... I opened it 11 times and all I got was 2 11 compendium level tokens.

I bought a few caches myself. No courier, but I got lucky and the three chests I opened all contained the sets I wanted most (Dragon Knight, Juggernaut, Vengeful Spirit).

I didn't get what I wanted on my first opens. I ended up opening them all because by the time I got all the sets I wanted, there was only 1 set left. So I decided I may as well get it and have 1 last try for the courier.

I used to really camp out the sales section of DOTA 2, but then I realized that all the good quality sets these days are in the chests, which never go on sale. >.>

all i do is play naga morph etc. i like heros that hit creeps. i like to hit creeps. i am hit creep.

support legit has the most impact in the game. u might wanna check out RD2L next season and try and learn a thing or two. it's not the friendliest place ever though. i had to play support last season for a team that was stacked to shit, our mid player was the mid player for no earth spirit back in TI4 qualifiers. he has a legendary TA. we lost to coin flip server selection tho against an EU team who had better ping to US than 1/2 of our players because fair rules

i think everyone that plays this game has a love hate relationship with it. yo if u got extra sf arms tho ill take some WINK WINK

I got the Night Stalker set and Gold Anti Mage weapons. But I didn't get the SF arms, which I would have liked to have.
