Ok, I don't know if this has already been posted, but I don't think it has, so I'm going to post it.

This was something that crossed my mind while just generally thinking about the characteristics of the Mane 6 in Season 2.

For example, Pinkie Pie is known for being a hyperactive pony. Look at her in Season 2. She is much more hyperactive than she was in Season 1.

Why I hear you ask?

Well, think back to Episode 2. Twilight reads her letters to Princess Celestia that help her remember the power of friendship and undiscords (?) her friends. However, these letters were written from Twilight's point of view.

What does this mean?

Her friends old personalities get replaced by the ones that Twilight saw. This means that if she saw Pinkie Pie as a hyperactive pony, she would become the hyperactive pony that Twilight saw. This means that her friends personalities are actually different to those seen in Season 1.

This means that secretly, in a weird sort of way, Discord actually won, despite being defeated by The Elements of Harmony.

Just a little something I thought I'd point out.

That would work if it weren't for the scene in Applejacks mind where she is racing alone with Rainbow Dash.

I don't think this would be a victory for Discord. I also do not think twilight influenced their personality. She removed a blight put upon them by Discord. Discord could try and make them see things in this light in a future episode. This trick was used to great effect in Full Metal Alchemist. It is a good question to pose and ponder. It also questions what is truly "us".

From bitterness I arise. I shall thrive in the cool darkness of this moonlit winter's night. Oh how far I have arisen to meet you my friends.

Well remember another thing,

In season 1, Twilight was the primary focus of the show, how she had to learn all these lessons about the magic of friendship

In season 2, the focus has shifted to the mane six and even some characters out side of that. Basically, season 1 was used to introduce the show and mainly focus on twilight, and it seems that they used season 2 to develop the characters in more depth, perhaps in season 3, we will learn more back story of each of the characters

That's it. I'm making a Ponysaga fanfic.

You know what would be messed up though? If Discord came back in Season 3 and it DID turn out that this was his plan.

Make sure to credit me.

That would be messed up. And also, how relaxed he was until he got imprisoned again.

I was half kidding. Well, kind of. I guess I could try it. The problem is, I don't know if I'd be able to use Discord in it.

What's really going to bug you later on though, regarding Discord possibly coming back in Season 3 is:

Would he come back on his own?

Or is there someone else behind it?

Maybe someone worse?

Well, we know for a fact that it was the CMC's fault that Discord returned in Season 2. Maybe someone else might release him (Trixie) or we may have a new antagonist. Something I'd like to see is an ongoing plot throughout the whole season, where they face the antagonist in an epic battle.

I'd probably chalk that first release up to the fact that he'd been in stone for over 1000 years. I think Celestia even mentioned something about the magic weakening because she wasn't in tune with the Elements of Harmony anymore.

But yes, it would be interesting to see if it was a new villain that released Discord for a bigger purpose.

No, but you see,

Twilight used the letters to remember, while she used a spell to remind her friends of their experiences. It's like having amnesia and suddenly remembering everything, not having amnesia and have somepony tell you who you were before.

*Opinion* I thought Pinkie was less hyperactive in S2, actually.

But I've heard that theory before, and it could be true. I saw nothing drastically different about the ponies though.

I do believe you're overthinking it. Faust isn't working on the show as much, which means the incompetents have more power. Caricaturing is ineviable.

That's how art works my friend, interpreting it from diffrent points of view.

Take paintings. Half the artists don't even know what they're doing, but they know this'll make them even more popular, because it means more people will like it for diffrent reasons.

Interpretation is the heart of it.

This isn't really about who's right and wrong, it's expressing theories and such.

I didn't mean to make people wrong, but I am saying that for hundreds of years, people came up with complicated theories as to why things work, and almost none of them were true.
