Very cool art. Gives me lots of feels.

 

They address this issue in quite a few cool fan fictions. There's some stories where Twilight holds her friends in hooves until they die in her hooves.

 

Some stories where Twilight misses her friends so much so she resurrects them. Or uses powerful magic to stop them from dying.

Something that I don't understand. That's changing established canon JUST to serve some saccharin ideal of not living beyond one's friends.

 

Unless what that tweet meant was that something will happen in the plot that means Twilight won't live beyond her friends but otherwise would have . . . .

Sad but there are people who outlive there friends in real life. To bemoan Twilight's possible fate of doing so, I think, is something of a tacit insult to those who have had friends and close family members die in their lifetime.

 

. . . . Which isn't to say the piece is bad! Oh no, it's excellent! I've just seen this exact scenario in many, many, art pieces, animations, and fanfics before and was just commenting on the theme, not the quality of the product, which is excellent.

I'm 23 and I prefer the ladder reaction.

 

The characters that I've written that are immortal don't bemoan their status, they revel in it, they make their eternity count because they know no one else gets what they have. So they have a responsibility to their friends and family, live life to the fullest.

 

Why would we say "life is wonderful" and then dictate someone with eternal life should be a sad sack?
