The only one who makes it in my top 5 list on your List is Itachi Uchiha.

 

I agree with Frostgage that certain characters from Mirai Nikki, if not all of them should be included (I recently started to like Marco and Ai)

 

Unfortunately many Animes are missed out, great ones, like Mei Misaki from Another or the Higurashi Cast. More of an underdog but still one of my favorites would be Shina Mashiro from Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo or Tomoya Okazaki and Nagisa Furukawa, or even Fuko (I love Fuko so much) from Clannad. Rintarou Okabe from Steins;Gate would also be on my top 10 list and could be a good pick for favorite Anime Character. Shana from Shakugan no Shana could also be up there on the list and many more but listing them all would take rather long and would make this poll even longer.

Almost none of these characters are particularly interesting. Where's Black Lagoon's Revy? Gurren Lagann's Kamina? Darker Than Black's Hei or Yin? Pani Poni Dash's Ichijo?

 

Stuff like this is little more than a popularity contest and they only ever cover the best selling anime. It leaves a lot of amazing characters completely out of the loop simply because the anime was lesser known.

I realize I need to watch more anime but I at least recognize a decent amount of characters here.

 

However, the one I choose is not there: Armin Arlert from Attack On Titan. I feel like he is one of the characters that has the most depth in the show and the most clearly flawed out of the main characters, which for an anime I will always like that. Far too many characters in anime are perfect gods at whatever they do. Armin is nowhere near close to being the best at what he does, but has spirit which gets him far, but his emotions get the best of him too.
