how do I get my bf to get into mlp?

I always like to tell people (SPOLIERS), "Dude, the Season 4 finale had a giant kamehameha magic fight in which the tiny main character pony got head butted THROUGH a mountain by a 40ft magic stealing centaur demon, right before she spiked him into the ground like a volleyball."

Sure, that's not every episode, but the minds behind THAT know a thing or two about entertainment.

I know you already mentioned you're not trying to force him so I'm not going to say that since everyone else said that and you don't wish to but try showing him the less girly episodes or episodes that aren't girly at all or the very big episodes.

Much like what @Singe said, maybe show him some funny memes and fan animations or comics or anything like those and some funny clips from the show you think he'd be amused by. Being his girlfriend, you'd know what kind of things he'd be interested so think what he'd find interesting or funny or awesome and show him clips like those.

Episodes I'd make him watch (mostly two parters) in no order;

The Return of Harmony Parts 1 & 2 (chaotic and quite humorous episode I think he'd find funny and like), A Canterlot Wedding Parts 1 & 2 (I know ending is kinda girly talking about love and all but I think he'd find Queen Charysalis a interesting character), Pinkie Pride (quite ood and humorous funny episode and if he's a Weird Al fan or if he LOVES random comedy and funny stuff, he'll most likely enjoy this episode), Sonic Rsinboom (almost everyone's first episode was Sonic Rainboom and it was a pretty good episode with a good story and I think he would find the Sonic Rainboom to be awesome), Princess Twilight Sparkle parts 1 & 2 (silly Discord as usual with good storytelling and he'll might find the episode quite cool), The Cutie Map or Cutie Markless (I don't know but I think he would like it mostly for interesting story and he'd maybe like Starlight Glimmer), Twilight's Kingdom Parts 1 & 2 (I'm sure he'll find Tirek cool and interesting and he'll most likely like it with all the DBZ battles like everyone else is saying.)

He'd might like the filler episodes more as @221BTardisSt had said. A lot of boys who later become Bronies and even some grown girls who become Pegasisters later that find the show very girly and boring at first seem to get into the show more and get amused by the filler episodes from what I've seen. It could enlighten him and he could find it funny. Mainly the Discord episodes like what 221BTardisSt said. Like Make New Friends But Keep Discord.

Episodes I wouldn't show him mostly because everyone hates them;

Appaloosa's Most Wanted (One of the dullest and boring episodes we've ever gotten from the show so far and he'll most likely be bored to death), Spike At Your Service (not a special episode, predictable, kinda boring, Spike is acting quite dumb which'll make your boyfriend hate the episode and Spike most likely), Dragon Quest (predictable, not very special and not a quite engaging story either, etc), Power Ponies (He'll most likely think the episode is dull and think the powers thing is stupid), Magical Mystery Cure UNTIL he seen most of season three mostly because it contains clips from past episodes in past seasons (when Celestia was singing to Twilight and how she watched her since that very first day with all those moments. He'd might be confused. The episode itself is also mainly a musical that's fast fast paced and short which he might not like and find dull.)

...pretty much most of season one until he starts to like the show and a few season two episodes.

Once again, since he seems reluctant he could be amused by the filler episodes and later become more interested in the storyline ones later as he gets more and more into the show if he ever does.

Or do what the others are saying and make a deal to watch a season or two of something he likes you don't watch much and have him watch some seasons of MLP. I'd recommend seasons 3 and 4 OR season 4 and so far of season 5 but tell him to skip Appaloosa's Most Wanted.

Don't push too hard, it is okay to recommend it though. It is hard to say what could get him into it as it is different for everyone. What convinced me to try was hearing my friend tell me about Discord. A dragon/chimera like trickster god trolling ponies sounded awesome and I found it was just as cool as it sounded.

At least he tried it out, but don't push it on him. Just keep casually talking about it and maybe he'll ask more. I would never think of trying to get my bf into it, he really would never have any interest. I tried showing him some music and he hated it, but it's ok to each their own and he still supports my love for it. If your bf doesn't want to watch, just be happy he supports you (:

Hello everyone. I have a dilemma... See I love my little pony. Having seen first hand its amazing stories and lessons I know how magical and wonderful it truly is. I tried to help my bf see it too. He watched the first two episodes with me but he said he doesn't understand it. It's too girly for him. How can I help him see the light? Any ideas?

You dont, girls only. No boys allowed. They are gross.

Eh, the first two episodes aren't really that good anyway. Try showing him some episodes that break the stereotype of the show, like Twilight's Kingdom. Does he like any other shows? Maybe you could find an episode perfect for him with that information.

I agree that you shouldn't shove the show down his throat, but showing him a couple of episodes is harmless. If he's still not into the show, maybe it's just not for him.

but more than half of the fandom is filled with boys

Tell him that you want a real man.  Quickly adding that: Only a real man would watch colorful, friendship-loving equines who sometimes burst into song.

Don't take the above advice, either.

So what do you believe? That only girls exist in the fandom? :P

To be honest I used to believe only boys exist in the fandom.

In fact, I'm kinda sick and tired of people not knowing or acknowledge pegasisters. More than half of the MLP haters I've met didn't even knew what a Pegasister was or that grown women watched it the show.

What's worse is that I joined when I was 11 when I joined, which made me feel awkward because I thought only boys could be Bronies. :lol:

At least I'm more comfortable both genders are fans instead of just boys. :lol:

Looking at both ends of the spectrum, I have experiences on both ends. I have a close best friend, he is a goofball and he is awesome to be around, we have a lot of similar interests, but he can't stand mlp. We both understand each other and respect that difference, it doesn't affect our friendship and I still toss in the occasional mlp pun just to get under his skin, but we expect that from each other. On the other hand, I have a best friend/brother (not by blood, but we were born on the same day within a couple hours of each other) He is the one who introduced me to the show, I was reluctant at first with the 1st season being as slow as it was, but It made my life completely different at the end of the day. If he supports you, then that's all that matters, but being under the banner of Bronies is definitely worth trying, especially since it can bring such a huge group of people together without worry of discrimination, but I'm just rambling on now lol Maybe give him some backstory about bronies as well and just how much it means to some people, anyone who has a heart can't deny that this fandom is 20% Cooler.   B)

To be honest.. If he doesn't like it because it's "too girly" you probably can't change him. And forcing him to watch it won't make the situation any better. I would love to add another brony to the movement, but if he don't like it now. Theres no way he will in the future

Easy. Make him watch an episode of the show. You can show him whichever episode, but I very much suggest "Three's a Crowd", as it is a perfect mixture of slice of life and GIANT LASER DEATH MATCH!!!! Plus, it has Discord in it.

Well you said yourself he watched a few episodes and he said it's not his thing, so just let it go.
