So today I went to Quaker Streak and Lube and attempted to eat Triple Atomic Hot Wings...

I didn't eat all 6 required for the challenge but I attempted and here is my friends deciding to record me cry....

(I never got my jalapenos)

Can you handle spicy foods?

Or have you ever done any challenge like this?

(this topic is sorta an excuse for me to post this video... if anything watch as I suffer through spicy chicken wings... )

For a reference.... these were at 500,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units)... Jalapeno peppers are anywhere from 3,500-8,000

If the food was reasonably spicy just to spice the flavor up, I guess I can handle most of it

But if the food was ungodly spicy just because the chef lost a bet last night... Maybe I'll reconsider Posted Image

Yeah man, I eat Indian and Thai food like a champ! I love spicy food, even though my body seems to disagree with me afterwards, but it's all worth it in the end :D

I LOVE buffalo wings. Hot is mild to me, and I always wanted to move up to the "911" wings, but my dad always calls me crazy and says I'll die of a heat stroke xD. Yeah, I can handle hot/spicy foods, and I don't even have to pay the price later xD

I LOVE spicy food and eat it almost all the time! I have a huge crave for Thai, Mexican, Japanese (for sushi), and Szechuan-spicy food*, and I can't get enough. Oddly, I haven't eaten that much Indian food, but I'd love to try some of their spicy dishes someday.

Regarding spicy dishes, I always love it when a meal comes out spicy if ordered while in a restaurant. One of my greatest pet peeves is the kitchen dumbing down the spiciness of the dish because Americans in general can't handle it (an unfortuante stereotype that's true). Whenever I go to a restaurant and ask for it spicy, I expect it to be spicy as if it were true to the original recipe. One little trick I make when ordering spicy food is to make it hot "like your father ate it." Usually, that trick works to perfection, as the spicy food comes out true to the menu.

To this day, the three hottest meals I've ever eaten were all Thai food (not in order):

1. green curry with chicken. At my main Thai restaurant, it's already a three-star dish, no stars meaning not spicy and three stars being VERY spicy. I loved it as is, so I decided to step it up by taking the three-star-spicy green curry and request to make it EXTRA spicy. The waitress gave me a worried look upon requesting it. When it came to my table, red flaked chilies sprinkled on top. In fact, one of the chefs peaked his head out to se who was the crazy white dude ordering hotter green curry. I saw God the second I ate it, and it was breathtaking. Not only did I finish it, but I ordered the same thing the exact same way two weeks later (and, yes, I did finish that, too).

2. Thai tumeric chicken. I decided to order the hottest meal on the menu, which is a dry paste tumeric meal with curry, white rice, and chicken. The portion was small, but my mouth was BURNING. Delicious, but after finishing it, I had drool in the kitchen and let cold water run down my tongue in the bathroom.

3. Spicy beef salad (I only ate this three weeks ago). Ordered it like I ususally did, but it came out spicier. Those stubborn drued chili flakes that burned my mouth when I ate the curry showed its ugly seedlings again on the beef, watercress, juicy apple slices, and sliced red onions. THIS was the hottest meal I ever had, and it was the closest I came to not finishing it because of how hot it was. I ate sushi with huge gulps of spicy wasabi without breaking a sweat, and I almost fell victim to an overly hot beef salad. Delicious, but my mouth was ready to burst into flames.

*Szechuan-spicy food isn't really a burning sensation. Szechuan spices come from a little peppercorn. Once you bite into it, you start to salivate like crazy, and the more you eat it, the more your mouth waters. I's a beautiful sensation, but very different.

P.S.: Crazily, I only started eating spicy meals a little over four years ago, starting with sushi after getting a cold. Before, my mom was a big spice fanatic, and I avoided it like a plague. Today, I can eat food spicier than her, but I'll admit that I can be a bit in over my habañero-lovin' head at times.

B**ch, please.

I'll go habanero on your asses.

But really, I like chili peppers.

At my day's restaurant, he gives a chili pepper to everybody's meals. One day, while helping stock pita bread, I saw some kids having a contest with their chili peppers. I asked my dad if I could go over to them, and I grabbed like, 5 peppers.

They watched in awe as I devoured them.

Now we give those kids free peppers.

Wow I'm surprised, like 5 of my best friends can't handle anything past buffalo and they say they're too spicy...

New theory:

Ponies = greater spiciness tolerance

I make a buffalo chicken pizza that will burn your face off. It's SO hot but SO good that you just kinda keep on eating it and hope your lips just go numb at some point, lol. I love spicy foods!

I live to eat spicy food, seriously I need to stop eating so much of it. I quite well remember drinking a whole bottle of hot sauce for kicks back when I was younger, my stomach hated me for that but it was so worth it.

Oh yes. Many much entertainment! I actually do not doubt the amount of water works you had to go through during that. I have never tried anything quite THAT hot before. I must admit though, you handled that pretty well compared to some other's I've seen do things like that.

Spicy food can't handle me!

I am a spiceaholic, the more spice, the better. Unless the amount of spice doesn't hurt other people, it isn't spicy enough for me haha.

I plan on ordering some Ghost peppers to mix in my what I call "3X Suicide nachos" which uses hot salsa, red peppers, habanero, and jalapenos.
