Battle of the DAWs

So, I'd just like to bring up this REALLY cool concept I found out about recently.  It's called "Dueling DAWs" (although the title probably should have made that obvious), and so far, I've never really listened to the concept in action anywhere other than inside the Brony music world.  The concept I believe was created by Stablefree for Toastbeard ZIQ16, and the way it works is like a simple "append and send" process:

1) Producer A makes 16 bars of music, bounces to WAV and sends to Producer B.
2) Producer B adds additional 16 bars of music, bounces the whole thing to WAV and sends to Producer A.
3) Rinse and repeat. Set time limit to make things more interesting (optional, of course)!
4) Place this step-by-step list into your video description, so that other people can take the challenge!

Once a section is mixed down it stays locked in stereo and no revisions are allowed.

This is the concept's debut, Stablefree vs. Replacer:

And this is SlyphStorm vs. Forest Rain, awesomely giving the concept some life:

So...what are all your thoughts on this?  Do you think y'all would like to try it with each other?  I'd love to try as well; unfortunately I have no comparable DAW right now.

Also...if anypony is willing to reference this to Aviators, please do so, because THAT would be awesome to hear, him trying out this concept.

Those are pretty nice, and its quite cool to see two people mix their music like this. I especially liked the SylphStorm - Forest Rain one because its thematic.

I was gonna comment on this a couple days ago, but I sorta forgot. Anyways, yeah, I'd love to do something like this. However, I don't know that many ponies that use FamiTracker (or, 0CCFamiTracker, for that matter, which is the version I use.) Therefore, my chances of participating in something like this are slim to none.

I love the idea, though. Collaboration is always a good thing to have, especially when the results yield songs like these.

I loved the SylphStorm vs Forest Rain one. It was amazing.

If anyone wants to do something like this with me, I'm up for it. I need the practice for the software I'm using, anyway.

I consider myself to be relatively a tenderfoot in the world of DAWs, but this looks like a fun collaborative project I could see myself doing in the future :ooh:

I'm absolutely HORRIBLE when it comes to musician to musician collab. I'm so used to being the only working musician in a lot of projects that I find it hard to work with other musicians. Most of the time, I'd end up doing my own thing and simply forget that I was doing a collab in the first place, only for everything to boil down to me apologizing profusely while the other musician tries to calm me down.

Hello ,

As you're seemingly interested in collaborating with other musicians to make projects, I've moved your topic to Creative Resources' Music section.
