I don't really judge an album based on its cover, besides some artists make the covers look horrific on purpose.

Like Tyler, The Creator's "Cherry Bomb" album cover.

While I totally don't judge the quality of an album based on its cover, I can judge its genre. Because there are some music genres I don't like, a cover that inspires me one of them can put me off.

But short answer: no. :P

No not really. But then again, heavy metal tends to have really good cover art anyways. Heck, checking out the cover art may inspire me to check a band out. I saw the artwork for the latest Skeletonwitch album, bought it, listened to it, and found it pretty decent.

I used to judge the album just by it's own cover, but when I would listen to some albums with covers who would absolutely look bad for me they would actually sound good, then I decided to change.

A great example would be Alice In Hell by Annihilator, I thought the cover was really weird back in the day, but then when I decided to listen to more of the album, I discovered a masterpiece beyond this strange and cheesy cover.

It's not a bad indicator to the content of an album. There are definitely covers that just scream 'Black  Metal' or 'Punk' or 'Indie Hipster Nonsense'. That said, it doesn't make the album any better or worse for me.

I am an experienced cook, musician and care worker though, so that's something.

If I find an ugly album cover I usually just find an alternative cover somebody made online if it really is that bad.

When I listen to music, I like to think as an Album as a full story, with each song being a chapter. Gorillaz are a great example, every time I listen to their songs, I can just sort of imagine myself in one of their scenes, and their lyric describe everything perfectly. Let's take Plastic Beach for example. The songs and their lyrics give clues as to what happens, and the album cover gives us a little visual clue of where it occurs.

(This is my favorite song on the album)

To answer the question, It doesn't really put me off if an album has a bad cover, but a good cover can make an album much better.

As for Death Grips...

I HAVE NO IDEA
