If you haven't heard of the major changes that are being proposed to copyright by congress, I highly suggest you watch this video, especially if you're an artist:

 

 

 

Just thought I'd bring this to people's attention in case nobody else had. Any thoughts?

As an artist (not professional), this new copyright bill thoroughly pisses me off, and very rarely does anything make me angry enough to warrant use that statement. This is why whenever I post some of my art to the internet (which is extremely rare in itself), I usually have a signature or some type of watermark on it to prevent thievery.

 

Goddammit, can't we just scrap our current copyright laws and build up a new and better system from scratch?

I'll need to read the actual law, but if what this person posted is right then its not nearly as bad as what it is being made out to be.

Yea, perhaps it's not as bad as it may seem. But nonetheless, it will still be quite a change from what artists are used to. Hopefully that guy is right.
