movies/tv Whats the most disappointing movie you have have seen?

Honestly, my first answer is same as @EmeraldWriteheart

Most disappointing movie? PERCY JACKSON AND THE SEA OF MONSTERS!!!!!!!!! It didn't disappoint me so much as it made me mad... They have ruined the books. I could rant all day about what the writers got wrong, but this probably isn't the thread for that.

You have no idea how much I agree with you on this. I'm actually new to the Percy Jackson fandom and I'm still not finished with the first book but I watched half of the movie with my friends and I hated it right away. Such a shame it ruined the books. :/

Besides that, I was quite disappointed with the movie "Malficent". Not quite sure why everyone at my Jr High is hyping up over it. It's over the top bland and stale, a short movie, and bad characters. Honestly I liked Malficent better when she was evil in the original movie.

Here the backstory with her as a child wasn't a bad idea but the rest of it kinda falls back and is forgettable. Aroura herself was the most bland and forgettable of Disney characters in the original movie too (I know she's an iconic Disney Princess but in the actual movie she's kinda forgettable) but here she's even more that and hardly does much to the story.

And then comes my biggest real problem, the three fairies. In the original, the movie was more their movie and had better focus on them. They also actually cared about Aroura and even shed tears at the thought of no longer taking care of her.

Here in this remake, they're so cringeworthy and hateable. They don't even seem to care much for Aroura and was glad to finally be fairies again and no longer worry about her except finding her so the king wouldn't get mad. And when Aroura falls asleep, the fairies just nervously shrug it off saying "she's just asleep!" driving the king mad. They're the most unlikable characters overall and not to mention they even changed their names which seemed unnessuary. :/

I'm really glad my dad didn't waste his money to have us watch it at a theater. Hopefully the Cinderella movie remake is better than this remake.

Somewhere in Time was just horrible.  It starred Christopher Reeves before his horse mishap and the wheelchair.   Worst possible idea for time travel of all time.  The guy time travels back to the 1800's by just sitting in a chair and thinking about it.  What follows is some lame romantic trist with some 1800's lady followed by the poor schmuck being pulled back to the present by forces unknown, so he sits down and tries to time travel again, but for some reason can't pull it off again, so he's left broken hearted and alone missing his 1800's gal.    Supremely lame

Hm... I actually really liked that movie. Although it's been at least a decade since I last saw it. My memories lead me to believe that perhaps the story wasn't actually him going back in time... Because, yes, the method was rather ridiculous. But IIRC he pulls a penny out of his pocket that's from the modern age, and it "pulls" him back.. I think that was alluding that it was all in his head.

I really adore the movie's theme, too:

Splice, told my ex it would suck, but she insisted on me taking her.  I wanted to leave the theater constantly, but I kept thinking "Well, there's no way it can get worse.  Might as well stay and watch it get better."  But it got worse... It just kept getting worse.  There are movie "rules" so to speak.  These rules allow a movie to be entertainment and these rules transcend all genres.  This movie broke those rules and became downright weird.  When the rules of cinema break down, a movie becomes painful to watch and doesn't feel right.  It just feels like the writer was saying, "Ah ha! Then this will happen! Nobody could predict that because no one would dare put that in a movie.  I'm cutting edge and ever so clever, so eff you audience."  Maybe I just watch too many movies and take them too seriously.  Clever plot lines are one thing, but thinking of a hodgepodge of societally grotesque situations and inserting them just so your movie isn't predictable is idiotic.

The Last Airbender. Yes, I know it's been stated before, but it bears repeating. The movie lacks any of the fun or heart the cartoon and it couldn't even deliver on the spectacle.

Moonraker (1979)

Worst entry when Roger Moore was Bond. And this made Roger Moore look like an underrated 007.

Even if it did feature the space scenes, it could've been better by removing almost all the humor in it and making Jaws how he was like in The Spy Who Loved Me and not used for comic relief. And that hovercraft gondola scene, seriously?

But eh, nevertheless it looked like a masterpiece to my least favorite movies.

I can't decide on that yet, but I expect Star Wars 7 to be the winning candidate. I just love the old Star Wars movies, but with Disney in charge, it's gonna be a real James Bond x Daniel Craig experience, or at least I expect it to be.

Whats wrong with DIsney? I find they always have quality movies, once in a while one of their movies are a stinker but they have a pretty good track record in the past few years.

Yeah, but they don't seem to fit for a movie as huge as Star Wars. I'm afraid they break it down to just commercial stuff and easy going flat conversations with a load of special effects. But, let's see how that plays out^^

Did you forget they own Marvel  Studios and without them we wouldnt have GOTG or Captain America The WInter Soldier. So I have plenty of faith in them.

The breakfast club. (1985)

Everybody seems to admire that movie, but...

Maybe I just don't understand, but I didn't like it.  :sunny:

For me it's just a lot of pointless hostility and over-dramatized complaining...

I think at some point the characters act very unreal.

...And in the end everyone makes out, even if they only know each other for a few hours!

Oh wow, you've seen that too? I didn't mind the movie, but I was very annoyed when they changed a lot of things. I was expecting to actually notice some elements of the books, but I didnt, really.

Anyway, I'd say that ROBOCOP (2014) was boring. No bad acting, not a terrible story, I just felt like falling asleep throughout. And the ending was... underwhelming. It was more of a drama than an action film.

I actually enjoyed this movie better than Goldfinger.  Yes, it is absolutely absurd (but really no more so than Die Another Day) but over the top absurd is still better than grounded and dull in my opinion.

I am going to have to repeat what everyone else here has already said a vote for Last Airbender.  Shyamalan absolutely butchers what is perhaps the single greatest work of animation ever made.  How can you take something so vibrant and energetic and make it so dull and depressing?  Why would you ever do this?

Then there is this movie called Nightfall.  It is "based" on the Isaac Asimov short story of the same name.  In the book, an astrophysicist, journalist and psychologist team up to try to the end of civilization, caused oddly enough by a short night on a planet that rarely sees night.  The movie is just a bunch of caveman moping around for 2 hours.  Asimov fans should avoid it like the plague.

Honorable mention goes to Dumb and Dumber.  Its not the worst movie out there, but its still pretty made and I had to sit through it every bloody summer when I was in Boy Scouts.  I despise this movie with a passion.

Or any of the Fantastic Four movies for that matter.  They all suck.

the 2005 version was pretty decent actually.

Most dissapointing movies for me: Dragonball Evolution, The spongebob movie: sponge out of water, Fantastic Four (2015) those are the only ones that come to my mind right now

It was my birthday, I was thinking of watching Furious 7 (Even though I never watched the first 6), then one of my friends told me that I should see the movie "Get Hard" I didn't read anything about it, I went to see it and I wasn't really expecting much, but Will Ferrel was in it so it must've been funny, however, it had Gang Members and extreme adult stuff (especially by speech). It was a movie I would rather watch alone rather than with my family. Then there was a part where I saw a....... Schlong. It was only for 1 second, but it was that alone that made a good example at how much I nosedive. My relative (Who is really strict about adult material) turned his face towards me and gave me an evil look, and I deserved it. I wish I could've recommended him to leave or something, instead of sitting through the entire movie, it would've been better for him.

The only good part about the whole experience was that a person right next to me left at the beginning of the movie and left his Sprite, so I had 2 sodas to drink instead of 1.

I thought casual everyday adults were going to watch the movie but when the movie ended and I looked behind me I saw a few gangsters talking and smoking and stuff. It was a naughty but funny experience that I hope to forget. I look at it in the best way though, I came home in tears laughing at my own stupidness XD.

Exactly, which is why they should've read a lot more before jumping in and ruining the movie...
