Will the rest of the mane6 become alicorns?

I wouldn't want it to be an idea lasting more than an episode as it dilutes the uniqueness of Alicorns, makes their goals like rd with the wonder bolts incompatible, many bad implications, and what kingdom will they have?

I really really hope not. while I do think the toys would look cool and would almost certainly buy them (at the very least Fluttershy) I hope it is not something that happens in the show.

I think it would be too much for Applejack considering how she's a simple pony. 

 

Pinkie becoming an Alicorn would be a bad idea.

Pinkie would be the only one who would actually want to be an alicorn because it would be fun. But I don't think it's a good idea. Who knows what she would do.

Eh, given the responsibilities the mane six have taken on already (They're on a council thing of sorts and are already indebted to a table to come when it summons them and solve problems in the country), the fact that "Princess" is a pretty watered down term at this point given how Luna does little to no beaurocracy, and the fact that it seems like Co-princesses can exist in equestria, I honestly don't see much of an issue at this point.

 

It honestly wouldn't seem much different than the stuff they're already doing for the map IMO, and Twilight could handle the politics stuff due to that being her speciality

To be honest, alot of villains could take on alicorns as a threat; Tirek and Discord for example both would easily handle the mane six as alicorns without macguffins of some type.

On that note, while this sounds cool and I'd LOVE IT, I'm 100% certain its NOT happening. This is an old topic that got bumped, so what I'm saying has already been said in OTHER threads on this stuff, but here goes.

 

Those toys are most likely a package deal, of the mane six or another popular character packaged with a new Alicorn character or OC of some type. the Princess luna and princess cheerilee toys for example are out of the ordinary were they going to make a M6 alicorn thing.

Plus, Were they to make the other 5 alicorns, this would mean a plotline which focused on the OTHER 5 while neglecting any focus on Twilight (as she's already an alicorn). There is pretty much Zero precedent in the show for big plotlines to not have it focus on twilight, making this seem incredibly unlikely.

Hah, I gotta admit, it seems like very few bronies like the M6 alicorn idea anymore XD (I seem to be the only one in any thread on that subject that actually wants it )
It was way more popular in S1 and S2 as I remember.

So far from what I've seen.....there is no need. I don't even consider Alicorns as gods anymore despite the fact they are treated as the most powerful ponies in Equestria. Are they really? Celestia and Luna have depended on the elements of harmony in ancient battles before...twice Celestia was proven useless when it came to great dangers she faced in the series. 

 

Even after Twilight became an alicorn, it made no difference to how she got sh*t done. Every problem she faced as an alicorn, she solved it the same way she would have solved them as a regular unicorn. Sure her magic became more powerful, but can we really name a situation she was in where it required the great and powerful alicorn magic? One could say that epic "tirek battle" is an example, but that was with combined Alicorn magic. I'm sure combined unicorn or pegasi or even earth pony magic would have done the trick though it would have taken WAYYY more than just four ponies. In fact, it was shown that the combined alicorn magic of four was equally as powerful as the combined magic of the ponies of equestria. Which only means: Alicorn magic is nothing special...it's just a higher level of magic than the regular magic of a unicorn. And.....it gives you wings and a horn. That's it.

 

 

That being said, even if all the mane 6 became alicorns, I'd still see them better as their regular old selves. It would only change their appearance and give them more magic which they rarely use to save the day other than the magic of friendship....I feel like the "princess" title isn't all that great. As far as I'm concerned, all the six of them proven themselves more useful and better than any Alicorn Princess ever has. 

 

 

 

BUT IT'LL BE ADORABLE STILL. That's the only reason....all six of them being an alicorn will be adorable. It wouldn't change anything else really

I find it highly unlikely save for maybe a one off episode where they all gain alicorn status only to say that it's not worth the trouble.  Would love to see a chaos magic infused Fluttershy though

Probably not as I don't think such a thing would fit their character arcs nor do any of the others really aspire to do as such as well. Probably best to keep it limited at this point as adding more would might further dilute the achievement while avoiding issues of redundancy. 

 

Most of the other five would have to learn how to cast magic, and the others would learn how to fly, and Applejack and Pinkie Pie both if one wanted them to be effective. Seems like a lot of hassle when as it stands now they got the job done as a team.

 

That said I would not be entirely opposed to exploring the idea for an episode or so.
